I have tried to say a prayer within my soul, 
But my prayers fall flat. 
I feel stupid and useless 
When I read a verse in Psalms. 
Nobody's hearing my plea.

I have prayed to the heavens, 
But my words are in the sand. 
I feel useless 
When I pray like a child in the dark. 
Silence is my only response.
