Emotional abuse shattered my spirit.
Departing as dust in the scorching heat of wicked lamps.
The flame stopped burning my soul,
Which became darker, like the grave.

The pain cannot be relieved.
Will it go to the gates of death?
Or be slow away with your hateful breath?

I was abused by a maid,
I mopped the floor like a pro.
Betrayal is bitter without aid.
I was destroyed along with my innocence like a raid.
A wing was broken, and I was afraid
To drive the light into the darkness.
I let my soul lie side by side in the dust of broken roses.
