A Possible Partner

The sun beat down on the earth in hot, heavy waves, causing for no one to want to be outside. Of course, everyone had something they needed to do, even in the overwhelming hot. That included the green-headed elf named Izuku Midoriya, who would seem unaffected by the heat if the bright smile on his face said anything.

He was actually smiling because of pure excitement. Sure, he was sad he had to leave his Mom, but now he could go on cool adventures, as a mage! Like how he and Bakugou had always dreamed of, since they were little kids!

Speaking of Bakugou, Izuku hadn't seen him since his True Form appeared, around three months ago. The agressive blond had ended up a two-tailed kitsune, if Izuku was remembering correctly.

I wonder where you are now, Kacchan..

Izuku looked around, the streets were crowded with people. He had to dodge people's feet often, in order to avoid being stepped on. That wasn't to difficult with his magic, though. He knew he was a good distance away from his home, he had spent alot of the morning following a trail to this town.

His smile didn't fade, even with the heat.

Eventually, he found himself staring at a rather large hotel. It was an all-creatures hotel, so anyone could go there. Of course, the only real difference between it and normal hotels was that all-creatures hotels had rooms designed for elves and fairies. There were few around, as elves and fairies didn't usually travel around, so the tiny rooms went unused. It was lucky that he could actually find one.

Izuku walked up to the smaller of two doors, which was small enough that he could actually reach the doorknob.

He stepped inside, and almost instantly was met with many confused, and even shocked faces turning his way. It was safe to say most of these people had never seen an elf before, and the attention made Izuku uncomfortable.

He supposed they didn't expect for an elf to look like him, either. Most elves depicted in legends were described as elderly looking, having wrinkled skin and gray hairs, while Izuku's impossibly large eyes and round face made him look like a wide-eyed kid.

He allowed a nervous chuckle to leave his mouth as he waved slightly, and everyone turned back to what they were doing, although a tense atmosphere remained.

Right... Younger elves are rumored to be tricksters... Why did I end up an elf of all things?

Izuku sighed, and walked over to the receptionist desk.

He tried to ignore her skeptical look, as she handed him the keys to one of the rooms, "it's room number 206, second floor." Izuku dipped his head in a small bow, "thank you, ma'am".

Izuku then went to go find his room, climbing the stairs as fast as if they were a mountain. He didn't want to go in the elevator, as they made him feel anxious. Tight spaces with lots of people did that to him.

He eventually managed to find his way to the top of the stairs, and began searching the halls for the room.

The room he was given was exetremly musty, smelling of wet wood and old bed sheets. There was dust everywhere, and the bed looked completely unused. He noticed a wooden desk against one wall, that seemed to have moss growing. "Well, I guess it's better than nothing.." Izuku mumbled.

He set his backpack down by the desk, and untied his red boots, placing them near the doorway.

Izuku would probably be there awhile, at least until he had a party or at least a partner to travel with, might as well make himself comfortable.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been three weeks, and Izuku had made a reputation for himself in the small town. It wasn't his intention, of course, he didn't really like attention all that much when it came down to it. But it seemed that this was one of those places where everyone knew everyone else, and word of the timid elf spread fast.
He had been doing odd jobs and helping people out, so that he would actually have enough money to stay in the hotel. Due to the fact that he kept his strength he already had, he had an easier time doing some things than his small size would suggest.
He also was working at his potion making, a hobby he had for a few months now, but no one knew about that. Besides, he wasn't very good at it anyway.
Izuku was currently inside of some small time resturaunt, enjoying a bowl of ramen. It wasn't nearly as good as his mother's katsudon, but it was still enjoyable.
Honestly, nothing could compare to his mom's cooking. He really missed his mom. Izuku sighed, his mood downcast at the thought.
CRASH!!
Izuku jumped, nearly falling out of his seat in surprise. "ACK!! What was that..?" He turned to look in the direction of the sound, only to see a growling ogre on the ground, and a pink skinned fairy laughing at the ogre. "Huh... looks like that fairy pulled a prank on him... I haven't seen her before.. Then again, I'm pretty new here myself..."
The ogre didn't seem all too happy about it, and ended up chasing the fairy out of the resturaunt.
Izuku finished up his food, and went outside after paying.
"Boo!"
"AHH"
