ANGELA's POV

He didn't answer and just stared at me. He looked like he wasn't with me all of a sudden.

"Are you listening to me?"

"Ah..Sorry. Yes, you loved cats before" He said unsurely. I gave him a weird look.

"Are you okay?" I asked and even raised my hand and felt up his forehead which made him chuckle with amusement.

"I'm fine, baby. I'm guess I'm just tired" Held my hands and kissed them lovingly.

"You sure?"

"Yes, baby. C'mon, let's eat. You told me on the phone that you cooked dinner for us. I am excited to taste it" He put his arm over my shoulders and guided me to the dining room. I just went along with him while beaming happily.

"Aren't you going to freshen up first?" I asked as I gazed at his outfit.

"Nah. I'm more excited to eat. I'm starving now and I'm sure that this tastes good"

"Really? You find my cooking delicious?" I asked expectantly.

"Of course, baby. You make delicious food and I am so lucky to have you by my side"

"Hmmm...Just because of that?" I pouted. She gave me a gentle kiss.

"Of course not. I am lucky that I have you in my life because you're the most amazing woman I've ever met. You're beautiful, you can cook and most of all, you make me happy" I could see the sincerity in his eyes.

"Thank you" I said appreciatively and tip toed and kissed him. He grinned and deepened the kiss. Shortly after that, we began eating and as expected, he complimented my cooking which made my heart swelled with happiness.

HUNTER's POV

I stared at Angela who's currently sleeping soundly beside me. She looks so innocent and beautiful that I couldn't help but to raise my hand and touched her soft cheeks in a feathery manner so that I wouldn't wake her up.

Whether I like it or not, this beautiful woman beside me already has already captured my heart and everyday with her is like heaven to me. These past few months, a new Hunter grew up in me to the point that I can't even recognized myself anymore and it's all because of her. Because of Angelique Novell. The sister of the man I hate. The man I swore to take my revenge on. But I didn't expect what happened. I fell for his sister and I fell hard.

Yes. I fell in love for her and now, I am doomed. Every single day is like a new adventure with her and I've been happy and contented just by being with her. The truth always scares me. The truth that every happy moment with her is just a big lie. I've been scared since I realized that I loved her that one day, her memories would come back. I am not yet ready for her to leave me.

I am not ready for her resentment and anger that she would surely feel towards me when that time comes.

I chuckled bitterly. I just wanted to take revenge because of what happened to my sister but now my plans are slowly backfiring at me. I fell in love.

Before I met her, love for me was like a big joke. I grew up with parents who always fighting with each other every chance they get. My father has his many shares of women and my mother was always crying. Maybe because they didn't really loved each other. They were forced by their parents to marry each other.

Then I saw what happened to my other friends who fell in love and got hurt. Then my sister Tiffany got married but didn't get her happy ending too.

I promised myself not to fall in love to spare myself from heartaches. Women came and left me but it was okay because they never touched my heart. I've never let them. Just by hearing the word love before was making me cringe. It was like a bitter gourd in my throat and like a poison.

But I had never expected to fall for the sister of my enemy. When I first saw her, I already figured out that I felt something for her. I even planned to see her again but when I discovered that she's Regan's sister, my plans changed. But never in my wildest dreams that I would really fall in love with her.

I fell so hard that she's like the air I breath every second and the water I drink that keeps me stronger everyday but at the same time, she's like a forbidden apple that I wasn't supposed to pick up but I defied circumstances and picked her up still.

I heaved a sigh and kissed her forehead. I wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her closer to me. I will never let you go, baby. I will fight for you whatever happens. You're mine and mine alone. Call me jerk and selfish but I won't ever give you up.

F*ck that revenge! I couldn't even remember the last time my goal of revenge occurred in my head. Truth to be told, I already forgot about it. She made me forget about it just like that but my anger towards her brother still remains in the depth of my heart.

I cursed myself because I felt confused and lost. I love Angela but my anger for her brother is still there. I took a deep breath.

"Why are you still awake, baby? It's already late" I was pulled out of my reverie when Angela spoke.

"I'm sorry for waking you up. Go back to sleep" Instead of doing so, she turned on the lampshade.

"What's wrong? You look like you have a problem. Care to tell me about it?" I pulled her to me and made her head pillowed on my shoulder while my arms went around her tightly.

"Nothing. I just can't sleep. C'mon, don't worry about me. Go back to sleep. You have a big day ahead of you tomorrow" She beamed happily.

"I'm so excited. I can't wait to start my work" She said excitedly. My heart skipped a beat. She looked so enchanting and she takes my breath away everytime I stare at her.

"Then you should go back to sleep, Angel baby, and I'll sleep as well. Goodnight" I said and reached for the lampshade and turned it off.

"Goodnight"

"Baby, this is Dr. Caitlin Constantinou. She is the owner of this vet clinic and she'll be your employer. Cait, this is my girlfriend, Angelique, Angela for short, the one I told you about" I introduced them and they shook hands.

"Nice to meet you, Dr. Constantinou" Caitlin smiled.

"Don't be too formal, Angela. Just call me Caitlin or Cait. Anyway, can I talk to Hunter for a second?" I frowned at her.

"Okay" I heard Angela agreed. Caitlin pulled my hand and went outside the clinic. Angela was left inside the clinic alone, sitting on the couch.

"What are we going to talk about? I thought we already talked about this?" I asked Caitlin. She tsked and shoved her hands in the pocket of her white uniform. She looked at Angela who was staring at us from the inside. She had that curios look on her face.

"Yes, we already talked about this but f*ck, Hunter. Now that I am seeing her here, I am already beginning to feel guilty. I think I can't do this after all" Caitlin said.

"No, Cait. You already agreed. C'mon. Do this for me. Promise, I'll give you whatever you want for your next birthday" She rolled her eyes and then sighed.

"You know what, if I don't love you, I won't ever agree to this. Gosh! I'm going to play along with you in playing with this girl's emotions. Sh*t!"

"Hey, I'm not playing with her emotions, okay?" I said defensively. She patted me on my shoulder like she was patting a kid while clicking her tongue.

"Whatever, Hunt. Tell that to yourself. C'mon, let's go back inside. I think she's glaring at me and at the same time killing me in her mind right now for being so close to you" I smirked and looked at Angela who instantly looked at the other way when she saw me looking at her. A playful idea popped up in my head. I put my arm over Caitlin's shoulder and I saw how Angela's eyes widened before it squinted in anger.

I've never seen her got jealous and now that I am seeing it, it felt so good. She never said anything about her feelings towards me. She just mentions about liking me but never about love. Now, I want her to admit it to me. Yes, I know I'm an as*hole, b*stard, jerk, whatever it is, name it. But I want to fully claim her and be mine fully.

ANGELA's POV

I felt an unfamiliar unpleasant feeling in my chest as I stared at Hunter and Caitlin through the glass door. They looked like they were talking about something important, very important that they didn't want me to hear it. My jaw flexed and I had to take a deep breath to calm myself down.

My eyes roam around inside the clinic and tried to take my eyes off of the two outside but my eyes were defying me. My eyes widened when I saw Caitlin patting Hunter's shoulder. They looked like they're really close and known each other for a long time. I felt a pang of pain as I saw how Hunter smiled at her. He looked like he's staring at someone who's very precious and important to him.

I felt my eyes watered but I quickly wiped my tears when I saw them coming back inside the clinic. Hunter's arm was over Caitlin's shoulder and I never wanted anything than push her away from him and hog him to myself instead. I heard the door opened but I stayed on my seat and I got instantly annoyed when I heard Caitlin laughing seductively. I almost rolled my eyes at them.

"Are you done talking?" I couldn't help myself anymore and asked them sarcastically. I almost tasted the bitterness in my voice. It's been more than six months that I've been with Hunter without me memories but this was the first time that I felt this way.

When we left the house earlier, I was so excited and full of energy but now, all that excitement disappeared and I felt like my energy was sucked out of me.

"Sorry for leaving you here alone, Angela. We just discussed about something" Caitlin said and smiled but it looked to me that she's having a hard time smiling and was just forcing herself to do so.

"Are you okay, baby?" Hunter asked and sat beside me. He put his arm over my shoulder but I shoved his arm away and stood up and got away from him. I felt like his arm was His arm felt dirty. Shock was evident on Hunter's face because of what I did.

"Is it okay if you orient me now so that I could start my job ASAP" I said to Caitlin who was staring at me and Hunter with uneasiness. She heaved a sigh and smiled.

"Sure. As you can see, I don't have anyone working with me here. You'll be my first employee and you'll be my assistant. C'mon, let's start by touring you around" I just nodded my head and followed Caitlin. She began discussing about my duties and responsibilities but my mind wasn't really focused on what she was blabbering about. I was looking at Hunter, who was standing there, through my peripheral vision. He's frowning at me.

"Do you have any question, Angela?" I was pulled out of my reverie when I heard Caitlin's voice. I looked at her and she was grinning at me and then look at Hunter.

"Nothing. I'm sorry that you have to take me in because Hunter asked you to" She looked surprised.

"Actually, he just asked me if I need a helping hand here in my clinic and it just happened that I was planning on hiring someone. So when he told me that his girlfriend needs work, I ask him to bring you here. You see, he didn't directly ask me. I asked him to bring you here" I forced a smile. I couldn't understand myself. Caitlin seems to be a nice woman but I have this strange feeling inside me that's keeping me from being friendly with her. Argh! What the hell is happening with me?!

"Baby, I need to go. I am running late. Good luck on your first day" Hunter said and kissed me on the forehead. My heart swelled with happiness but at the same time, I felt irritated. He didn't kiss me on the lips like he usually does when he leaves for work. Is it because Caitlin's here?!

"Okay. Drive safely" I said. He smiled but it didn't reached his eyes. He stared at me for a couple of seconds before he said goodbye to Caitlin and left.

When I heard the car engine started, I wanted to run after him, talk to him and kiss him but he already drove off.

I got startled a bit when I felt someone pat me on my shoulder.

"Are you okay? You look down" Caitlin asked.

"Yes. I'm okay. So what am I going to do first?" I asked her. She told me my other duties and before I knew it, I was already starting my work. When the clinic opened, I was surprised that there were a lot of customers. I wasn't expecting it. Time passed and before I realized it, my shift was over. My first day was fine and I enjoyed it. I said my goodbye to Caitlin and was about to go to the bus stop when I saw Hunter's car parked in front of the clinic. What is he doing here? Normally, he's at work now.
