Chapter Twenty Nine
Bella's POV
I couldn't take it any longer Who could? My body was already rejecting and reacting and any moment then, I could've passed out or away.....
"Here, I'll feed you," he offered and stood up, walking over to me. He grabbed the spoon and took some tomato pasta, holding it up to my mouth. I could really puke.
"Open wide!"
I slowly opened my mouth as my eyes watered and I just kept shaking.
The first taste of the pasta mead my tongue swell and and my throat itch. I dashed the spoon away and stood up, coughing and panting. I grabbed a glass of water and gulped it down. My reactions reduced a bit.
"Are you okay?" he asked, worried.
"Y - yes!" I nodded and smiled, holding my hands to my chest.
"Why didn't tell me you were now allergic to tomatoes?" he asked, concerned.
"I- How do you know that?" I brushed off the question.
"Science student?" he more of asked, raising a brow.
"Oh, yeah!" I nodded and cleaned my mouth with the napkin.
"Are you sure you're okay?" he asked again.
"Yes I am. Don't worry," I smiled and returned to the seat.
"I'll just take these away and get something else. I'm sorry," he frowned a bit and signalled to the waiter to take it away. He heaved a sigh and face palmed himself.
I blew it. Big time!

"Arise and shine, sunshine!"
I slowly opened my eyes as the morning sun peered through and lit a half of my face dimly. I rubbed my palms on my eyes and sat up to see an over hyped secretary.
"Oh, God!" I sighed and slumped back on the bed.
Its the freaking wedding day!
"Good morning, ma'am. Its a brand new day and a beautiful one in fact. Everything is ready and your coffee is served. The preparations would be made in the hotel and everyone's so excited!" she squealed happily.
"Yeah, obviously," I mumbled under my breath and raised the blanket over my head.
"Come on, ma'am. We need to get ready right away! We don't want to keep the guests waiting," she urged.
I took the blanket off my head and looked around. Sleepily, I ripped the blanket off my body and stepped into my slippers.
"The coffee?" I asked and she hastily brought it to me in the saucer.
"Its too hot!" I yelled as I spilled it out off my mouth.
"I'm sorry ma'am. I'll get you another," she trembled and ran off.
Immediately, I returned to my bed and rummaged under the pillow for my phone. When I tapped it, I searched Dar's number and called it.
"Hello? Dar?" I spoke up as tears ran down my face.
"Bella? Long time! It seems you totally forgot about us and you're so comfortable with your new chic life. Am I right?" she spat angrily.
"Dar - its nothing like what you think. I'm actually in a really big mess right now. I don't know what to do," I cried out.
"What? What's wrong?" she asked.
"Today's my day. I mean, not mine but hers. Mercedes's,"
"I thought you enjoyed her life? Why make such a big deal?"
"You don't understand. I made a promise to Pa and Ma before I left the house and I don't know what has been going on with me. I'm just so afraid of getting jailed," I replied with a voice drenched in tears and obstructed with hiccups.
"If you're the daughter you claim you are, you would've remembered that promise right from the start," she argued.
"How was I supposed to know?"
She hissed.
"What do you want me to do for you?" she asked.
"I don't know. I'm just - "
"Look, Bella. I think you've been clumsy all your life, but this is seriously the clumsiest you've been. I don't know what else to say to you,"
Immediately, I hung up as I heard the door knob turn. I turned my face and wiped off the tears.
"Your coffee is served, ma'am," Banks notified.
"Okay." I replied and got into the shower.
"Don't take the wedding as anything. Its nothing. You don't love him, and you have nothing to do with the family. Just try getting out of here as soon as you can," I whispered to myself as the warm water pressed and ran through my skin, causing goosebumps.
I frowned and sank in deep thoughts.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
"Ready?" Miss Banks asked as she dressed me up and put the last touchings.
"Yeah!" I nodded.
"Open the doors!" she said to the guard and immediately, it went wide open and all heads turned to stare at me.
"I am so proud of you, dear," Papi said to me with tears in his eyes as we majestically walked down the aisle.
"Thanks," I smiled and cried inside. I never wanted my wedding to be that. I never wanted it. I was so sorry for her and more for myself.
There were cameras everywhere and the church was lit. Everywhere was really beautiful and flowers flooded. It was my dream wedding, but not my wedding. I stared at Caden who beamed at the front, staring at me.
I wanted to run back home and just not push through with the wedding. I felt horrible.
A tear slipped down my eye and peacefully rolled down my cheek to the jewelry I had on my neck. A tear that revealed sorrow, pain and fear. I would've rather marked that day the worst day of my life than the happiest. I looked pretty and all, but inside was a black void that ate me whole. Inside was nothing. Absolutely nothing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Mr. Caden Kensington, do you take Mrs. Mercedes to be your lawfully wedded wife, in sickness and in health, in joy and in sorrow, till death do you apart?"
He looked around. At the crowd. His parents. Everyone.
"I do," he finally replied.
"Miss Mercedes Belgravia, do you take Mr. Kensington to be your lawfully wedded husband, in sickness and in health, in joy and in sorrow, till death do you apart?"
Do not come home with a boyfriend. Never met a boy touch you. Do not visit a boy....
"Miss Mercedes, should I repeat the question?"
I shook my head and forced back a tear. Everyone waited impatiently. Mamasita already dreaded me. I could feel it.
My heart ached and although my head was up in the air, inside if me it was bent to my knees and weeping unstoppably.
"I can't," I whispered under my breath to Caden but then he shook his head.
I knew the implications.
"Don't," he mouthed. And suddenly, a smile curved on his lips. He nodded.
"I do," I whispered unwillingly.
"I now profess you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride," The priest said and Caden got my veil off.
I stared at him as he moved closer, cupping my face in his hands.
I shook my head fearfully until he finally did it and....smooch!
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
"I am so tired. What a day!" Caden groaned and slumped on the couch, unknotting his tie.
I slowly walked up to my room, still with the wedding dress on. I slumped on the bed and got my jewelry off. In a matter of minutes, I was done and already in my pj's, warming up to a nice, sad, long, interesting and depressing sleep.
I placed my head gently on the pillow and didn't realize when a tear rolled down my cheek and soaked a little portion. I swiped it off and sat up on the bed, thinking about everything that hasy happened so far. Where was my life actually heading?
I got distracted by a knock on the door.
"Come in!" I yelled and Miss Banks walked in, carefully carrying a saucer with a glass of milk.
"Sorry, ma'am but I just thought this would help you. Its a long time you asked for warm milk and you did so every night before. I hope you have a good night," she smiled and went out the door, closing it gently.
I sighed and stood up, stepping each foot on the cold floor, headed to the balcony.
Slowly, I opened the door to prevent much noise and walked into it. The air was fresh and the night was still too young. Beautiful stars lit up the sky and a nice scenery greeted me. A sly wind blew away my tears as they got dried up. My hair blew with the wind and my body enjoyed the warmth.
I shut my eyes close, inhaled, exhaled and slowly opened them, heaving a sigh. I leaned on the rail and stared at the streets. It was beautiful.
"Can't sleep?"
I shrieked and turned around.
"Gosh, you startled me!" I yelled at Caden.
"Oh, sorry. Just dropped by to say hi," he smiled and walked up to me.
"What's the problem?" he asked and stared into my eyes. I didn't know why, but he seemed really different.
I shook my head and bent it slightly towards the floor.
"You can tell me," he whispered.
Telling him would ruin my life.
Once again, I shook my head.
"So, you don't want to or you won't?" he looked up at me and waited impatiently for a reply.
"I'm okay," I said and walked back into the room. I grabbed the glass of milk and took a little sip.
"You are not okay. Come on, tell me what's bothering you," he cried out as he walked into my room and sat on the side of my bed.
"I'm okay," I said again, looking up at him with a forced smile curved on my lips.
"Okay, then. I'll just assume you are. It was a long day. I'll leave you to rest," he stated and stood up to go.
"Thanks for the concern," I told him as he opened the door.
"Yeah," he replied dryly and walked out the door, shutting it.
What was that all about? Why did he care all of a sudden? It was so unlike him and I was despising the new him more than the old.
I stood up from the bed and walked over to the side. I stared at the glass of milk which only went a half glass, and laid on my bed.
I turned off the lights and stared heavenward. I kept thinking about me and what was gonna happen next. What was going to happen to me? My family? And especially to Mercedes. I couldn't go on pretending for a long time. One day, everything would be out. I'd be toast.
I sighed and switched positions, laying on my right side. I placed my hand underneath my head and adjusted a bit.
I couldn't help but think. Think myself out of my troubles, and just think myself to a nice long sleep.
