Chapter Twenty
Bella's POV
We stepped down from the limo and walked into the salon. It was empty, quiet, and smelled like vanilla for some reason. It was a huge room with lots of dryers and a large mirror. Chairs in front of mirrors and a large table where shampoos, creams and conditioners were placed neatly. It looked like the updated version of the one's Dar spent most of her evenings at back at home.
"Why is it empty?" I asked Banks, staring at the whole place with my eyes pondering around.
"We rented it for a whole month. Just to make sure its clean and convenient," she replied and kept scrolling on her tablet screen.
"Well, that explains it," I nodded with a smile.
"Hi, hi hi Welcome to glam glam."
Seriously? Glam glam?
"We're here to give you perfection! Just sit back and enjoy," A young lady in a crimson romper and black heels said with a huge grin. She returned back to an unknown room and we waited for her, entertaining ourselves with magazines with mostly my face on the front cover.
We sat on the couch, while the whole team came up. Caden as always, just crossed his leg and kept flipping pages with sighs and hisses when he saw my face on the magazines until the previous lady returned to the room.
"Ma'am, please come forward," An elderly lady in her forties said and led me to the seat in front of the large mirror. She looked really pretty and had way too much piercings for a person her age. Her smile was really contagious and she acted like she had been doing the job for years.
"So, we're aware you'll be returning as Mrs. Mercedes Kensington. A blonde hair as usual, and that sassy brows, that killer smile and perfectly tanned body. I've got you covered. Just relax 'cause this would be a long ride," she said excitedly and widened her eyes.
I stood up and walked to hair dryer, sitting on the chair.
"That's for drying your hair. It isn't even wet. See why I say you are damn clumsy!" Caden said with a smirk and returned his gaze to his magazine, chuckling and shaking his head.
"Shut up, loser! I....." I started but paused.
Okay, I had no excuse over there. Why did I have to stand up in the first place? I had never even been to those salons before. Dar always fixed me up. Was I that clumsy?
"You nothing! You just a dumbass who wouldn't admit it!" he shot and smirked.
"Sorry to ask, but are you two getting married? It doesn't seem like it," The elderly lady said and stared at both of us suspiciously.
"Yeah...its just complicated," I replied with a sigh and stared at myself in the mirror.
"No, its not. She's complicated. I'm normal." Caden barged on my statement. The nerve!
"Can you shut up, doofus!" I yelled.
He laughed and stood up to me.
"Sorry to interrupt, but this is no place for a tantrum," The lady said again and Caden returned with a smirk on his face. He was getting on my last nerves. My very last of them all....
"So, where were we....."
She started the work, and it took like FOREVER!

"Sure took the whole day, but worth it," she said and finally let me go, beaming happily as she tidied up a little mess on the table.
I stood up and checked myself out in the mirror, toying and twirling with the locks of my hair and loving the whole blonde outlook.
"Look at you looking so stunning!" She added with an applause, fixing up little strands that fell out of the doughnut she made with my hair and perfecting the little strands she stylishly left at the sides and the perfect edges she made.
"There's not much to look at, anyway," Caden interrupted with a shrug, as final touches were put on him.
"Just shut up!" I yelled, fixing my gaze at him.
He has gotten me crazy! And that kiss had nothing to do with it.
"Oh, we're gonna see at home," he shot and continued with his magazine, smirking unrepentantly and nodding. At least I looked a lot prettier, fancier and stunning.
Caden was still having his makeover done. Mostly because he was totally done a couple of hours ago, but then, told them to start all over from the beginning. Reason was, he was a self centered corky irritating jerk who thought he owned the world. Plus, he was an ass.
"THIS is what is look worthy," he said in an epic way and stood up in slow mo. He smoldered, and then smirked, placing his hand on his waist as he exuded an aura of insanity. Exactly! Insanity.
"Oh, please. The only thing worthy of that look of yours is a cringe. Its perfectly cringe worthy," I blurted aloud and heaved a loud sigh.
"What did you say?" he asked, coming closer with his eyes already murdering me.
"No, please don't do that here," The elderly lady said to tame that arrogant lion.
He mouthed 'i'm gonna kill you' and then used his hand to slice his neck in the air, indicating when he kills me.
'I'd love to see you try," I mouthed back with a smile. A smile that was meant to irritate him, big time.
Well, I had to admit. He looked pretty good. That makeover was just what he needed to get rid of that puke looking face of his.
But still, I hated him and that irritating signature smirk of his that could never be wiped off.
The makeover was useless since it couldn't erase that smirk. Hmph!
My phone rang. It was Dar. Bad timing. Really bad timing. The best thing to do was to ignore the call, but it was going to be so awkward since I already had all eyes on my phone.
"Gonna answer it?" Miss Banks asked.
I ignored the call and held the phone in my hand, panicking. I mean, what else would have been a better alternative?
Caden laughed.
"And what in the world is so funny this time?" I asked.
"You! You are. Exactly when did they let you free from your circus?" he asked, laughing so much, so hard and so annoyingly.
"Ha ha, very funny," I spat sarcastically and rolled my eyes.
He was the clown, not me.
°°°°°°°°°°°°
"Aw, finally at home!" I said, tired, and pulled the shoes off my legs lazily, slumping my body on the couch.
"You can say that again," Miss Banks added and walked over to the kitchen.
Caden walked in and stared at me for a while. It was like he'd seen a ghost.
"What?" I asked, touching my face to see if I had a bug on it or I looked like a ghost or something.
"Why? Do I have a bruise or something?" I asked.
"Or something...." he trailed off in a murmur. "We need to talk...." He continued, in a very serious tone.
Okay, he was seriously freaking me out.
"About what?" I asked.
"Here's the drinks," Miss Banks said and walked to the center tabled with a tray, three glasses and a box of chilled juice.
"Oh, gracias," I said as she poured some in a glass and handed it to me.
I looked at Caden through the transparent glass in my mouth. He seemed tense. There was definitely something wrong, and I needed to know what it was.
"Banks, you can go hone now. See you tomorrow," I dismissed with a slight smile.
"Thanks. I'll be off now. Bye," she smiled and headed for the door.
"Good night, Banks!" I replied and she closed the door behind her.
I sighed and then turned to Caden.
He sat down on the opposite couch with his head placed on his palm, in deep thought. I wondered what was bothering him. I didn't know why I cared but I still did.
"What's the matter?" I asked and returned the empty glass to the tray, waiting for a reply.
He looked up at me, but then returned to his normal position. Strange.
"We need to - " he started but paused immediately, in thoughts only him knew contents of.
"We need to - what?" I asked anxiously and placed a palm on my chin, supporting my hand on my lap and leaning forward.
He thought for a while with my worried face fixed on his. I needed a reply, fast.
"You know what? Never mind," he said and stood up to go.
He still had his worried face on, and walked up to his room, staring into space.
I just sighed, trying not to mind too much and took his and Banks drink, gulped them down, had a deep bulge and headed upstairs.
After all the stress, all I needed was a hot shower and a nice warm sleep that could actually last for hours.
