Prologue
(Watch Vid first for effect)
The long journey Frisk had faced was finally coming to an end. As her and her friends reached the surface, they began to bask in the glory that was the human Sun. It was glorious. The view brought tears to their eyes. This, was what they had been fighting for... for so long...
Papyrus smiled wide and puffed out his chest, the sight filling him with determination, or gas. He couldn't really tell.
Sans also smiled, realizing this to be abother example of a happy ending for one of the timelines. This made him feel proud.
Undyne and Alphys gave a long stare into the light. Undyne then took Alphys' hand with a smile as they continued to bathe in the sunlit glory.
Asgore also felt a wave of pride, but also a pang of guilt. For the way he had tried to accomplish this goal held no bearings, and was meaningless in the end.
Last, but certainly not least, was Toriel. She felt so happy for Frisk. From the very beginning, all she wanted to do was protect the child. She thought Frisk was incapable of doing such a fantastic feat but, she was wrong. It felt amazing, a mixture of love and pride and happiness. She couldn't describe it, none of them could.
It was just... perfect.
And yet, Frisk still felt.. incomplete. Of course, out of kindness she was silent, not really paying attention to what they all were saying, until Asgore piped up.
"Maybe Frisk should become our spokesperson. Frisk, would you be our ambassador to the humans?" He asked with a cautious smile.
Of course, Frisk happily nodded. After all, this wasn't the end of their adventure. It was simply a turn of the page, a new start.
Frisk quickly went back to her contemplation.
Papyrus sighed. "Welp, time to go make a good impression on the humans!" He then suddenly dashed down the mountain. Alphys and Undyne gave chase, and then Sans ran off in the opposite direction, which was even weirder then the former.
And then there were three.
Asgore looked to Toriel. "Soo, uh.. what do-"
"What do I what, Asgore?" Toriel asked, bluntly.
Asgore immediately piped up and chuckled uncomfortably. "I should uh, catch up to them." And with that, he nodded, just before running off.
Toriel smiled down at Frisk before returning her gaze to the sunset. "Well, my child. It appears we've reached a fork in the road." She said with a heavy sigh.
Frisk nodded. "Yeah..."
Toriel paused her thought and looked to her. "What is wrong, my child? Speak to me." She said with a smile.
Frisk looked back into the cave and sighed. She just wished there was a way. Her determination and strong will wouldn't let this be the end.
However, Toriel felt like this was a unhealthy way of goimg about things. Tori had learned to accept Asriel's departure along time ago. She didn't wish for Frisk to have to go through what she did. "My child... go to him if you must but, please be back soon." Was what she finally decided to say after a brief thought.
Frisk smirked and ran back into the caves, down and down until she reached the flowerbed.
Amongst the flowers stood a taller sunflower, one that had eyes and a mouth. It gave a stubborn glance at Frisk. "You idiot.. there's nothing left for you down here. Everyone's already getting settled to leave." He said with a huff. "But not me. I don't deserve to be happy." He said flatly with another huff.
However, Frisk just giggled and smiled cheekily, getting down to his level. "But I refuse!" She joked as she pet the flower.
He scoffed and rolled his eyes. "You never know when to quit, do you? Don't you get it? You won! It's all over now. Soon you'll reset, and all of this will-"
"No. I refuse."
"Ugh, stop saying that!" He said. "It's inevitable. We're stuck in an endless loop and you are the catalyst. One day, you'll get bored of all this, and then you'll want to start back from the beginning. There's no way around it." Flowey spitefully shot a glare at Frisk before lookibg off to the side.
Frisk simply shook her head. "No. I refuse to end all of this. I refuse to start over... I refuse to accept the end.. and I refuse to let you suffer."
Flowey looked down ans,scoffed. "Frisk... you're gonna make cry. And I won't f-forgive y-you if y-you do!"
Suddenly Frisk held out a hand.
"What are you doing?" Flowey asked.
From her hand came her soul, the soul of determination. And from there, six souls came to their grasp and began to circle the heart.
"Are those the-"
"Yes. These are the six lost human souls. And they have heard your suffering Asriel. They feel your pain, and have realized their purpose." She said with a smile as she looked upon the flower. "To save the one that saved them all."
"Don't be ridiculous Frisk. I'm no hero. You're the one who saved everyone." He said rather bluntly.
"No Asriel. If it wasn't for you, there would still be a barrier. In the end, whether you like it or not, you saved everyone. Not me." Frisk then put her hand closer, her soul burning bright as the souls of the six children began to swarm Flowey.
Flowey looked around. "What are they.. how is this...?"
"You are loved, Asriel." She began.
"Have patience. Have integrity. Be kind. Know justice. Be brave and persevere. But above all else.." Frisk smiled wide as she looked down upon her friend. "Stay determined."
Suddenly the 6 souls began to envelop the flower and carry him upwards as Frisk's soul continued to burn bright. The combined energy of the seven causing Asriel's body to begin to transform.
As the amazing rainbow of color surrounded Asriel, he began to feel the power of the souls penetrating his very existence. He felt loved, and cherished. He could feel all seven beating as one.
He would not let them down.
Asriel gave a cry as he was finally able to absorb the power of the six souls before the effect knocked them both back, the two hitting opposite walls of the room.
Frisk was caught off gaurd, and she had hurt her arm badly from the slam. There was nothing on her with HP restoring properties, so she shook ot off for the time being. However, through the darkness she saw a light, and went towards it.
Sitting now, in the flowerbed, was a small goat-child. He looked around in awe and wonder as he played with a single flower and fashioned it onto one of his ears. He then turned to see Frisk and smiled, shaking his head ever so slightly.
"You really are something special, Frisk." He said with a chuckle. Immediately, Frisk ran to Asriel and hugged him, causing him to gasp and blush a little before he happily hugged back.
Frisk giggled softly as she pulled away. "I refused to give you up Asriel. I had to save you. I needed to save everyone." She said as she began to tear up. "Heck, I didn't even think that would wor-"
"But it did. And I'm here now." He finished with another smile. "All thanks to you, Frisk."
"Yeah... I guess we're even."
"Heh... yeah."
And with that, the two set off, back up the stairs to meet Toriel once more. As she saw her birthchild and adopted child ascend the stairs, she felt her heart shatter into a million pieces before reforming 10x stronger immediately after. She let out a cry and hugged them both, sobbing softly as she nuzzled the poor little Asriel. "I'm sorry... I should've protected you Asriel..."
"It's ok Mom......" Asriel continued to console his mother as Frisk hugged them both before Tori shot back up again and turned.
"Well then Frisk," She started happily. "This is truly the dawn of a new age. And you have reached a fork in the road of destiny... I'm sure you have a family.. er, someplace to be, at least. So now it becomes your decision. However, I would suggest you return to your normal life. You have done great things for my people, but you have no obligation to continue, my child."
Frisk nodded as she was lectured in her decision, and contemplated briefly.
"So, what say you, my child?" She asked with a smile as her and Asriel watched her carefully.
Frisk smiled, she had decided along time ago that there was no bette place then with her new monster friends. Back home, she had a dead father and a good for nothing Step-mom. Why would she return home? She had run away from that, willingly. This was all she had hoped for. So she smiled, and looked up at Tori with fire in her eyes and said, "I want to stay with you, Mom."
And with that, Tori's fragile old heart burst into flames. She hugged the two tight as the three shared loving tears of joy, and the entire valley was filled with there praise.
Now, finally, Frisk felt complete.
Toriel then stood and smiled wide. She grabbed each child by the habd on either side and walked them down the mountain. Down, and down, towards their new start.
A new life.
A brand new chapter.
A better ending...
