Areums POV

After the long weekend I always dreaded coming back to school on Monday. I could no longer sleep in which sucked because when I came back home from our show I was only a minute late and my mother freaked out.

Let's just say I had to wake up early and clean the whole house again by myself. I slowly drag my feet as I make my way to school. There was a slight chill in the air so I gently pull my sweater closer towards my body.

I was lazy this morning and didn't really care how I looked. I just through on some black leggings with a plain white tee. I had on my favorite baby pink sweater to keep me warm.

Finally making it to school I go to my locker to take out the books I need. As I pull out my books I feel a slight tap on my shoulder. I come face to face with Anne.

"Hey your here early" I say surprised. I shut my locker door closed holding my books in my arms.

"Yeah I decided to get up early today, I couldn't sleep last night" Anne says we slowly walk down the hall to our first class. We didn't share many classes together but at least she was in two of my classes.

"Did you stay up all night again" I ask arching an eyebrow.

"Yeah my parents came home late so I ended up staying up trying to get Everett to sleep" she groans slouching her shoulders. I could see the dark bags beneath her blue eyes.

Everett is Anne's infant baby brother. Most time's she ended up taking care of him as her parents work all day long. I felt bad for her at times but I could tell she loved her baby brother no matter what.

We walk into the classroom heading towards our usual seats. "By the way Cianne says that Tina wants us to come into her office today" Anne says as she places her head down on the desk.

It's been two days since we performed. I'm proud at how our performance went and someone had posted a video of us online. We got some really good feedback which is always a plus.

Nodding my head I place my things onto my desk when I see Marcus come in. Our eyes meet and his face breaks out into a smile. He sends me a gentle wave before choosing to sit at a desk near the door.

With a sigh I turn when I feel Anne's eyes on me. "You two seem close" she says with an eyebrow raised.

"Pft what... I barely know the guy" I say with a wave of my hand. She doesn't say anything as the teacher finally walks in.

I could tell by the expression on her face she didn't believe me.

Not one bit

"Ok ok girls gather around" Tina says chewing her gum noisily. We pull up our chairs forming a circle. Tina pulls a pencil from her her messy bun jotting down who knows what onto a notepad.

"So the show you girls did on Saturday was a success! I've been getting calls saying they want you girls to perform so with that being said I've come up with a bit of a switcheroo for you girls"!

Confused we all listen in closely. "I've been doing some... thinking and you girls know when I get to thinking things can get ... a bit messy" she cackles with laughter.

"Anyway I'm tired of seeing Souline as lead singer. I think it's time you Areum had your time front and center" she states pointing a finger at me.

All eyes are on me and I start to feel akward. I can practically see the rage on Soulines face as she stares hard at me. "Tina you know I've always been lead... I can't sing backup" Souline complains with a frown.

"You can, and you will end of story. People want to hear something new and if you keep singing lead that won't ever happen" Tina scolds.

No says anything as Tina carries on with the meeting. Souline barely makes eye contact with me the whole time and it felt weird. We've never really gotten into a fight before except for the time when I wouldn't spy on her ex for her.

But that was immediately squashed when she caught him cheating for herself. A part of me had always wanted to sing lead but I knew with that came confidence and knowing me I wasn't sure I was 100% ready for it.

An hour later we walk home Souline barely saying anything. "What's with the akward silence" Cianne says looking between me and Souline. I'm thrown off when she stops walking to turn towards me.

"Your not seriously thinking about singing lead right"? Souline asks crossing her arms.

"I uhh... well I am thinking about it" I say candidly. I would be lying if I said I hadn't been waiting for this opportunity to come up.

"I don't see what the deal is. Areum has a killer voice we all know it" Cianne says coming to my defense.

"I never said she didn't but come on. I've never sung backup before, why can't we have two lead singers" Souline asks rolling her eyes. I was becoming a little annoyed with her sudden attitude.

"Well I think you better get to learning" Cianne says with a laugh. Souline suddenly stomps away with a huff leaving us to watch her walk down the street.

Things definitely got worse.
