Hana's hands shook as she skimmed through the online news article she had pulled up on her mobile phone. It was barely six in the morning but the news of Han Hyunwoo getting shot by an unknown person in the residence of Kang Hei Ryung, a prominent businesswoman and a celebrity was trending worldwide.
There shouldn't have been a reason for the news to spread worldwide but their connection ran deeper and more into the glam industry of Korea. Kang Hei Ryung was the mother of Park Heejae who was recently revealed to be the girlfriend of Min Yoongi, more commonly known as Suga of BTS. To add more drama, Park Heejae was briefly seen with Han Hyunwoo, romantically.
If it wasn't a recipe for a full-blown scandal.
But what had cold sweat running down her face was the fact that she knew who could have held that gun against Hyunwoo and Heejae. She didn't hesitate nor think as her fingers worked on their own to call the one person who deserved to know everything.
The voice that greeted her was groogy, disoriented even but she was going to make sure she was heard clearly. "Miss Park, I know where Kim Donghae is."
"Where?" Heejae asked, now suddenly sounding more alert.
Hana sighed, rubbing her forehead. "I can't tell you on the phone, it's not secure. We should meet."
"Why should I? Hyunwoo said you helped them. How can I trust you?"
Hana paled, she could feel her heart dropping and her palms now sweating. "Did you tell the police about me?" she choked out, suddenly afraid that she might have to undergo something horrible. All because she couldn't control her momentary feelings, a momentary weakness.
"No, I didn't," Heejae admitted quietly. "But I got a call a few minutes ago and according to them, Hyunwoo is out of danger and he might be able to give a statement in a few hours. I don't know what he might tell but I also don't know the details of your agreement or deal with him and Donghae."
This time Hana sighed in relief, slouching back in her bed just as she felt her thigh being squeezed in comfort. She looked at her partner, smiling at her and she couldn't help but relax further.
"I don't have any romantic feelings for Yoongi, Miss Park," she admitted to the woman on the other end of the receiver. "I've been over him for a while now and have an amazing partner beside me as I speak. I broke all connections with those two the day I delivered that blasted red box to your office. I swear, Miss Park, I had no idea what was in it or I would have never let it happen. I'm not that evil nor that stupid."
Silence ensued and Hana prayed that Heejae would believe her, give her a chance to explain and help stop this craziness. It had been undoubtedly stupid since the beginning, she had to admit and she was none the wiser to believe what those men had spewed.
A kiss dropped on her shoulder brought her out of her thoughts and to glance at the person that had slowly but surely made sure that she knew what true love and happiness meant.
"It's going to be okay, baby," her girlfriend said, smiling and hugging her lightly.
"I hope so," she replied just as Heejae spoke up on the other end.
"Go to the office like usual, I'll meet you there." With that she hung up, leaving Hana to thank her silently for giving her a chance. She wasn't a vengeful, dramatic fool in love with the wrong person and she didn't want to ruin someone's life just out of spite especially when they didn't deserve any of it.
All Heejae and Yoongi had done was love each other and looking into her girlfriend's eyes, she knew they needed a moment of respite to be with each other in peace.

Heejae gnawed on her bottom lip, staring at her phone. Could she trust anyone after everything that had happened? Did she have it in her to blindly believe everything she saw or heard? She had been in the eye of the public long enough to know better.
Yet, the inner voice told her to give that woman a chance. It had strengthened even more when she had heard another woman's voice, softly consoling, coming from Hana's side. She knew Yoongi was with her now but she had still felt uneasy with Hana but now, she could feel that emotion disappearing.
"You know," Yoongi said, breaking the silence as he propped his chin on her shoulder, "I don't want to believe Hana. I saw her in the studio once after your brother almost broke my jaw. It was weird seeing her there and talking to her like everything was normal. But I got thinking... Do editors ever join in the actual shootings?"
Heejae's brows furrowed and she turned towards her boyfriend as she answered, "Of course they do. I mean, it's a personal choice but Hana actually wanted to try camera work, she likes the whole process of filmmaking from the beginning. So, she's been helping Anika's assistant a lot these days. Were you suspecting her because she met you there?"
He sighed and buried his face in the crook of her neck before mumbling, "Yes, I did. I was so damn paranoid."
Her lips kicked up and she squeezed his hand comfortingly. "No one can blame you. I was paranoid too."
She felt him nod against her and the couple stayed in the bed for a few more minutes, basking in the warmth and comfort knowing it was going to be a long day.
Yoongi had to leave for the company soon after, said his team had some damage control to discuss. He had been reluctant to leave but a few kisses and murmured promises pushed him to leave.
When Heejae met her parents in the dining room for breakfast that morning, she was surprised to see them talking civilly. If she didn't know better, she wouldn't have believed that the old couple was in the process of getting a divorce. But she wasn't so sure when she saw her father discreetly squeeze her mother's knee.
"I'll hold a press conference to handle this issue for both of us," Hei Ryung said as the breakfast was wrapping up. "You can stay home if you think it's going to be too tiring, Heejae. You've already been through enough stress the last few weeks. It's not good for you and the baby."
Heejae gave her a thin smile then. "It's okay. I should be there, it all started with me anyway."
Her mother gave her a stiff nod before they went about their day.

Heejae's heart beat fast and her steps were hurried even though she kept hearing Anika telling her to slow down. The normal office time had seemed to be a good choice in the morning but as the day progressed, she had become anxious to get answers.
And so, she raced towards her cabin, Anika telling her that a police officer was in place for security as well as taking the statement. She didn't completely trust the police, not yet but having a stronger person nearby helped soothe her nerves.
When she reached the office, her assistant was right there, opening the door to her cabin and nodding at her once, telling her everything was okay. With him and Anika right beside her, she felt courageous enough to face whatever came forth.
Her gaze first fell on the man dressed in normal jeans and a shirt standing right beside her chair behind the table. Next, her gaze moved to Hana who bowed to her immediately and gave her a nervous smile.
"Who are you?" Heejae asked without a second thought, her eyebrows furrowed as her gaze fell on the woman beside Hana, dressed in office wear. On her identity card, she could see the word reporter written in bold and it didn't help at all. She didn't have the patience for a reporter's tricky questions.
The woman bowed slightly as well and gave her a sad smile. "I'm not here to give you more trouble, Ms. Park. I'm here to help. My name is Kim Aerum and I know where Kim Donghae will make his next public appearance."
