(A/N: I was inspired to write this one shot after reading someone's amazing book on Wattpad, but I don't want to tag them because I don't want them to read this. This is very short, so sorry about that. I suck at writing sad stuff.)

He stood, frozenly still, as if he was paralyzed. His fractured heart was begging for her not to leave, to make her stay.

But in the end, he couldn't.

Thinking back on it, he realized that he never could have made her stay.

Because somewhere in his heart, he knew that she wouldn't have anyway.

Isn't it sad?

How the tiniest of a whisper can make everything come crashing down before you?

How the slightest touch can make anyone forget about the whole outside world around them?

How a single confession—how a single word can tear down the bonds and trust made between people, discarded as if they had never existed?

She stole his heart. She broke it. She destroyed a part of his soul that he didn't even know had lived within him. She left him alone.

Yet some stupid part of him still—

Yeah, you guessed it.

Some part of him still loved her.

I still think about you every single day—every hour, every minute, every second. Sometimes I like to pretend that everything was just back to the way they were. We would hold hands, walking on the beach, digging our toes into the sand. You would look at the horizon and the warm sunset and say that it was so beautiful. I would reply and say that there was something more beautiful than that in the world. And I would it say that "thing" was you. You would laugh the most amazing laugh, and we'd say those three words to each other that got me here in the first place. I'm sorry that I was fooled into thinking that you loved me. I'm sorry that I did. This is goodbye for now. These letters I'll never send.
