oh fiddlesticks
Tonight (I guess actually yesterday night?) was the closing night of my school's musical.
We did Fiddler on the Roof.
For anyone that doesn't know about Fiddler on the Roof...
...my condolences. You have never lived. It's amazing.
I mean, who doesn't love a bunch of Russian Jews yelling and getting married at an alarming rate?
I was in the pit band as a trumpet player (the music for this was hecka difficult I died a bit)
Here's me looking hideous in front of our beautiful Fiddler, Emma, and my daughter, Soap.
And also some random images
I wanted to pay tribute to all the great cast members by drawing them a picture.
So I did.
But I was too awkward to actually show it to any of them.
So I'll just put it here.
This is a picture of most of the main actors in the musical in character.
I realize that this picture is very small looking, so I'll break it up into pieces
The main character, Tevye (the guy who played him had to grow out quite the beard), and his wife, Golde.
(Note: this musical has a lot of weird names. When you see an 'e' at the end of a name, it's pronounced like an 'a'. So Golde, for example, is actually pronounced Golda)
Then Tevye's daughters and their bæs
Tzeitel and the tailor Motel Kemzoil (who is my favorite character of probably anything anywhere always)
Hodel and Perchik (who we realized was a Communist, and had to think very hard about for a while)
Chavala aka Chava and Fyedka (who is a heckin' Christian)
Them two got disowned the heck out of.
And then of course there's Sphrintze and Bielke. Who are very much too young to have husbands.
And of course my beeb, the Fiddler
Being part of the show was amazing for me, especially since this musical is very important to my family. (Seriously. My uncles do the bottle dance from the wedding scene at family reunions.)
I'm sad that it's over, but we had a great run.
To Life!
