"We won. We won! We've beaten Gary!", I yelled. I grabbed Emilee and spun her around in the air, elated that we had beaten a force of pure evil. While I was doing that, I went out of my Mega form. "Wait, can we activate it at anytime now?", Keeton asked. "According to the legends, yes.", I said. "Sweet! This will be great!" We went back to the Mega Rayquaza statue to tell the groups, but when we got there, Arceus himself was waiting for us. "Ah, you have finally come here." "Arceus, why are you here?", Valerie asked. "Thanks to your demonstration of bravery, I have decided to give each of you a wish. You may ask to know anything about your past, your present, or even your future. Who will go first?" "I will.", Josh said. "Arceus, I have alway been told that my parents found my egg under a tree. So, I wish to know who my parents were, and why they abandoned me. "Very well. Joshua Forretress, this is the story of your parents."

(Josh's Flashback)

"So, Moe, what will we name our child?", Jenny asked her husband. "I don't know. I guess it really depends on they're a boy or a girl." "Yeah, that would be good. No boy wants to be named Sue." Suddenly, a Skuntank burst through the door, looking to kill the egg. "Jenny, take our child far away. I'll try and meet you there. Go!" The Butterfree grabbed her egg and took off. "Bring it on, you mohawked freak!" Their battle was long and arduous, but in the end, the Forretress died, and the Skuntank continued it's chase.

"No, no, no! I can't lose you!", Jenny told her egg. The Skuntank was hot on their trail, and she couldn't outrun it forever. Eventually, it took a wrong turn, and Jenny used the moment to hide her egg. The Skuntank then found her, and they engaged. The battle was bloody, with neither backing down and both inflicting heavy damage. Eventually, the Butterfree was able to get off a Miracle Eye, and used Psychic to defeat the Skuntank. However, as she was picking up her egg, she felt it. An empty hole in her life force, and it was getting bigger. "Oh, why did it have to have Aftermath?", she thought to herself. Using the last of her strength, she moved her egg under a tree, near another Bug-type couple of a Volcarona and an Escavalier. "They have to notice you, they just have to. Goodbye, my son. You will never meet me, and that's my only regret." She went back into the forest to rest in peace, and her egg was left under the tree.

"Wait! What's that?", the Escavalier said. They moved over to inspect it. "It's an egg, and it's all alone, Arthur!", the Volcarona said. "Poor thing, must have been abandoned. Should we keep it, Kylee?" "I don't see why not! Here, let me hold it." The Volcarona held the egg tight, her ability Flame Body warming the egg and filling it's contents with a sense of comfort. "Well, what will we call it?" "Let me check." The Volcarona listened to the egg's contents to see if she could tell the gender. She heard it say "Mommy?", in a voice belonging to a boy. "It's a boy! What's a good name for a boy?" "How about, Josh." "Yeah, Josh is a good name. And when this egg hatches, we'll be parents of a baby boy named Josh..."

(Flashback end, back to Kilian's POV)

"So they never did abandon me. They gave their lives to protect me." Josh clearly had a large amount of emotions running through his head. "Josh, it's okay. I don't blame you for thinking that your parents abandoned you.", Joey said. "Thanks, Joey, that really helps.", Josh replied. "Now, Arceus, I would like to know, why did I evolve so much earlier then I was supposed to, and yet felt no pain during the transformation?" "Ah, yes. Joey, you are a rare Deino born once every 1000 years. You are right, most Deino evolve far later than you did, but being the rare anomaly, you can evolve several years earlier than expected. You will most likely evolve into a Hydreigon in a few years time." "Thank you, Arceus."

Emilee and I had been discussing what we would ask, and we eventually decided on the same thing. "Arceus, Emilee and I have shared a special connection ever since we met each other, to the point that we are able to share abilities.", I said. "Our question that we want answered, is why do we share this sort of connection? Is there a reason for it?" "Yes, there is a reason. I will show you.

We saw a green Mega Salamence, being chased by something through a forest. It had on it's back an Eevee, one it clearly cared deeply for. He brought it to a riverbank, with a raft sitting on it. The Salamence and Eevee share a kiss goodbye, and the now glowing Eevee is sent along the river on the raft, left on it's own, and evolving. The Salamence was engaged by a Mega Gengar, who, after a hard fought and grueling battle, had defeated him. "Deathmaker, the Legendary Salamence! He was in love with an Eevee!" "Yes, and over time, those two became reincarnated, and their cycle of love now continues.", Arceus said. They looked at each other. "Wait, so Emilee is that Eevee reincarnate?" "And Kilian is the reincarnation of Deathmaker?" "Yes, exactly. So, Emilee, if you ever find yourself saddened by the difference in you and Kilian's Egg Groups, just remember that you're not the first one to do it."

Over a span of 30 minutes, everyone got a wish, and the last one to do so was Seth. "Arceus, 3 years ago, I lost the love of my life to a fire on Route 108. I wish to speak to her one last time." "Seth, that I cannot do." "I see. Well, in that case, I have no wish to make." Seth got in a jumping position, but Arceus was able to stop him. "No, Seth, I can't do that because you never lost Andrea! She's still alive!" "Andrea lives? Please, Arceus! I wish to talk to Andrea!" "As you wish, Seth."

(Seth's POV)

"Hello?", Andrea asked. "Hello, is this Andrea Jolteon?", I replied. "Yes, who is this?" "Someone you know. Seth Lucario." "Seth? It's really you!" "That's what I'm saying! I thought you died in that fire!" "No, I had to run, as I had an object that I couldn't share with you, and had to take care of." "And what was that?" "This thing. Say hi, Lanie." "Hello!" I was absolutely speechless. She ran with an egg! She was a mother and didn't want anyone else to know! The call was breaking up at this point, as if Arceus was communicating to somewhere far away. "Andrea! Where are you!" "We're on...route...teen...Kanto! We'll be waiting! Bye!" The call cut out, but I heard all that I needed to hear.

(Return to Kilian's POV)

"Thank you, Arceus! I am eternally grateful for this!" "You are welcome Seth. I must be taking my leave, children. I will always be with you. Goodbye!", Arceus said, fading away. We spent the rest of the day searching for survivors and bringing them back to the Mega Rayquaza statue for healing and relief. "Everyone! Thanks to all of your valiant efforts, tremendous bravery, and selfless sacrifice, we have won the day! Meteor Falls, and all of Hoenn, is no longer under the iron fisted rule of a villain!", I said. Everyone cheered, creating a resounding sound throughout all the cave. "We have lost many a brave soul on this day. Friends, allies, loved ones, teachers, there is no shortage of casualties, and while they may be gone, they will never be forgotten. Let us now have a moment of silence, for the lives lost on this day."

After that, I was standing in Route 114, trying to use my Aura to see what happened to Elijah, when Seth approached me. "I know how you feel. To lose someone you care deeply about." "I know you do. Are you here to harp on about fate again?" "No, actually, and that's for 2 reasons. One, I have now seen that fate isn't right 100% of the time, and two, Elijah was fated to survive this fight." "You're serious? Then why did he die?" "Well, I've noticed a running theme with your encounters of fate. It seems that Gary existed outside of fate, able to change and direct it." "So Gary was, what, Destikinetic?" "That's one way to put it. His actions existed outside of what fate had set, and created timelines where fate had no say in any actions."

"So, Haylee didn't stay dead because Gary influenced Raven to cause her death?" "Exactly. And in Gary's conquest of the region, he has created a world in which fate no longer exists. Haylee will never die before her time, Elijah is now in the Hall of Origin, and Andrea is still alive." "Oh yeah, her. How are you going to reach Kanto?" "Well, I was going to ask you to fly me there. Maybe as a Mega Salamence to get there faster." I put my energy into Mega Evolving, before telling him "Get on, I'm reuniting you with Andrea!" He climbed on, and we flew into the air.

"So where is Kanto? North, Southwest, East Southeast?" "It should be Northeast of Meteor Falls." "Well, alright then!" I changed direction and took off. After a few hours, we could see flat grasslands, and I almost hit a tower. I swerved away, almost causing Seth to fall off me. "So, where are we now?" Seth was using his Aura to see the Pokémon that were nearby. "Ghost-types in one building, and a Fire, Water, Electric, Psychic, and Dark type in another. We must be in Ecruteak City, in Johto." "Well, point me East and I'll get you to Kanto!" He turned me East and we kept going. After getting to Lavender Town at sunset, Seth hopped off.

"Thank you for doing this, Kilian." "No problem! I imagine you'll go it alone from here." "Yeah, I have 7 routes to scour, which could take a few weeks, but I'll do it for love." "I can respect that. So, if it still applies, does fate say that our paths will cross again?" "I don't think fate ever had a say in that, but I say, yes." "Well, I'll be sure to conform to your will! You dictator." We both started laughing, before Seth started going towards Route 12. "Goodbye, Kilian. May our paths cross once again someday." "Goodbye, Seth. Next time I see you, Andrea better be with you." It took me an hour or two to get back home, and when I did, I had some explaining to do. "Kilian! Where have you been? It's been 4 hours!" "Sorry mom, I just had one last thing to do for a friend. Seth needed to get to Kanto, so I offered to fly him there, and I may or may not have accidentally flown to Ecruteak City." "Well, I'm just glad that you haven't been harmed. Now, come on inside, dinner is ready." I went inside, ate dinner, and went to sleep, ending the day on a comparatively low note to the rest of it.
