Chapter 10: The Nightmare on Dragon Rage Street
It was around this time that things started settling down. Obsi and Carcha were playing nice with Emilee's siblings, who I learned were named Case and Sabrina. Josh and I practiced ramming each other, to test how strong he was, until he had to go. I then tested the extent of Joey's bipolarity, until he had to go.
I then practiced taking Special hits with Haylee, before she had to go. Before they left, Haylee's father gave me a spare Pokédex. Then, I taught Sabrina and Case about evolution, and the many ways it can happen. I told them about a it for a few hours, before I had to go home, but not before saying goodbye to Emilee.
"I want to thank you for asking me to the dance," Emilee said. "No, no, the pleasure's all mine. Besides, it's even better that I get to take you as an Espeon." "Yeah, being an Espeon is pretty cool. Though it's not as cool as hanging out with you."
"Well, then, that means the feeling's mutual." Then, in the backyard, we shared our first kiss. It technically wasn't a kiss because I couldn't get my mouth out of my shell, but we just kissed the same part of my shell and called it good. When we got home, I played with Obsi and Carcha for a bit, before deciding to hit the hay. My last thoughts before I fell asleep, were of Emilee.
I woke up, and couldn't believe what I saw. My house, destroyed. The walls crumbled and on fire. My family, gone, nowhere to be seen. I walked out and saw Meteor Falls entirely destroyed, now just a plateau and not a cave.
I ran over to Emilee's house and saw Austin, trapped under some debris. I got him out, and he said that Emilee was still inside the rubble. He gave me HM04, Strength, before dying. I ran back inside. I saw under a pile of rubble, a red paw sticking out from under the wreckage. "Denice," I said to myself.
I pressed against the rubble and heard whimpers from inside. "Case! Sabrina! Are you in there?" "Kilian, is that you," Sabrina asked.
"Yes, Sabrina, it's me. Are you and Case okay?" "Yeah, we're okay, but mommy isn't moving! I'm scared Kilian," said Case. "I'm sorry, I don't know how to get you out. I'll get Emilee to safety and come back for you!"
I ran away from the caved in room and into the ruins of Emilee's room. There were objects flipped over, a wall missing, and chunks of the roof misplaced. One of the fallen roof chunks covered Emilee. I used Strength to lift the roof chunk off of her, and carried her out of the house. Her wounds looked pretty bad, and there wasn't a Pokémon Center anywhere close to here, so there was nothing I could do. She looked me in the eyes, and said, "Kilian, it...was good...to see...you...again...", before dying in my arms.
"No! No, no, no, no, no! This can't be happening! This just can't be happening!" Then, an all too familiar voice said, "Oh, don't be so skeptical, Kilian. And don't be sad either. I'm sure you'll find another love someday. Well, if you survive now."
I turned around and saw a horrifying sight. Gary, but not as a Gengar. He had no legs, and was just laying on the ground, held up by his hands, which were bigger then his eyes. He went from purple to purple and magenta, and had on his forehead, a yellow third eye. "Long time no see, Gary. But what happened to you? You look like something from a sketchbook of nightmares!"
"Oh, no, Kilian. I'm far worse than that. When you attacked me with your 'Super Hyper Beam,' I was not destroyed. Instead, I was flung across the region all the way to Dewford Town, where I amassed an army of Pokémon from the nearby cave. During my subsequent conquest of the Hoenn Region, I found an odd stone in the Battle Resort.
Then, holding that stone while riding into battle against the army of the Elite 4, I became this! Beautiful, isn't it? Those snot-nosed Eevees back there should have been honored that this was the last thing they saw! They could have died in worse ways. Like if a trusted friend was unable to save them, leaving them to have a slow, painful death."
"What? No, you didn't! You couldn't! Not even you could be so heartless! And if I'm wrong, then you're a monster!"
"Why thank you, Kilian! That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me! I must accomplishing my goals far better than I thought!" I tried to attack him, but as I did, a haunting melody played. I attacked him again, but he hid behind a Substitute.
The melody played again, louder and more urgent. As I destroyed his substitute, he asked me, "Kilian, have you ever heard of Perish Song? It's that awful melody that you keep hearing, and in 1 more turn, it will kill us both." I panicked and tried to run, but every time I tried, he just appeared in front of me, blocking my escape. I attacked one last time, hoping to take him out, but he fled before I could attack, and the Perish Song took effect.
I fell to the ground, an unimaginable and indescribable pain flowing through my body. I lost all feeling, my vision became blurred, and my thoughts were scattered. I took one last look at Emilee's lifeless body, before becoming lifeless myself, uttering my last words, "I'll see you soon, Emilee," while Gary said, "Make that 4 weaklings I Perish Tagged..."
I woke up in my bed in the middle of the night, a cold sweat running down me. I looked around. No destroyed house, no destroyed cave, no Perish Song playing. I looked out the window to Emilee's house. No ruined house, no missing wall, heck, I could even see Emilee's tail moving around.
I took refuge in the thought that the entire thing had been a nightmare. I fell back into bed, making a plan to text Emilee about what happened and ask if we could meet somewhere to discuss it. I went over the plan a few times, before sinking back into sleep.
I woke up later then usual, but still in time for breakfast. I ran downstairs, grabbed my phone, and quickly texted Emilee. 'Worst nightmare in history last night. Glad it's just that,' I sent. She texted back, 'Sounds horrible. What happened?'
'Don't know if I can explain on this, want to meet somewhere and discuss it?' 'Sure, wanna meet at Meteor Park?' 'Sure, sounds good.' 'Alright then, meet me under the statue of Mega Rayquaza at 12:15. I'll be waiting.'
The statue of Mega Rayquaza was a popular spot to hang out, but was usually vacant on Sundays. I looked at the clock. "11:15, that gives me 1 hour to get ready." I ate my breakfast, went to the bathroom, and told mom and Ted that I was meeting Emilee at the park. "Be back by 3:00, your grandparents are visiting tonight," mom said. I was excited, because my grandparents were some of the coolest people I knew, so I asked if Emilee could come over and meet them. They saw no issue with it, and before 11:45, I was out the door and going to meet Emilee.
