•Day 0: Unfortunate Move•

"No! No, please!" Jungkook let out a broken cry as his father grabbed his arms, forcefully dragging him out of his room. A snarl was set on his father's face while a look of disappointment settles on his mother's.

Hot tears streamed down Jungkook's face as his father snapped at him again as he tried to get away, pulling him past the living room and up to the front door. His body had no energy to fight back his father's violent shoves, and the words coming from his mouth only shattered more of his already cracked heart.

"Appa! Please! I'm sorry," He cried.

The last glimpse of his parents' furious faces and the light inside his home was blocked off as he was pushed out with the wooden door slamming shut, leaving Jungkook in the chilly, dark, empty streets of his neighborhood.

Jungkook eventually came over his shock, and ended up sitting on the stairs of the front porch, hugging himself as his small cries and whimpers turned into uncontrollable sobs. The fresh bruises on his arms stung when he hugged himself, making him wince.

"Eomma..."

Ever since Jungkook was little, he was adored by other people. Always bright and loving, always trying his best... He was a good child; but his parents has higher expectations for the little boy.

Fights occurred very often in the Jeon family. Almost everyday, because of something as small as a habit to something as important as school. Every word discouraged and hurted little Jungkook. It made him cry himself to sleep and lay on the cold floor, helpless.

Till this day, nothing's changed, and Jungkook made no attempt to stop them. Though he tries so hard to push it aside and move on, those words have already done its damage. To Jungkook's ego, to his pride, to his heart... To his life.

He definitely needed a shoulder to cry on this time. Jungkook didn't even care about how loud he was. The emotions he tried to bottle up inside for so long had finally broken free, and he didn't hold back.

Jungkook curled up into a ball and whimpered and cried, his tears drenching his rosy cheeks as all the hope he had slowly dissolved. His parents aren't going to forgive him. He never lived up to their dreams. He was going to have to live his life like this forever, and no one was there to help.

The wind howled, blowing against Jungkook's face making him shiver in his pajamas from the cold.

I need to at least find a place to stay, or else I'll catch a cold...

Gently wiping the tears from his puffy eyes, Jungkook tries to scan around, searching for anyone who might've heard him; but the neighborhood was ghost quiet just as expected. No one was ever there to help.

The moon's light was thankfully bright enough for him to see... and fortunately, that's when a shiny object in the dirt caught his attention. Jungkook slowly stood up and made his way down the porch steps, wincing when his bare feet made contact with the rough concrete.

It was a coin. It had taken Jungkook a while for him to see what the object was because of the dimness but sighed in relief when he realized the quarter in his hand.

Immediately one person came up in his mind. Taehyung. His best friend who was with him for so long. The only person who genuinely liked him, his escape from reality... Taehyung was who he needed.

I need to get to the payphone...

Jungkook was careful to watch his step as he made his way down the block, trying to avoid the twigs and rocks. The fact that his parents had just disowned him was getting to him even more and he had to bite his lip to suppress another cry from escaping. Each step away from his home constantly reminded him of it which made it harder to not break.

Jungkook finally reaches the corner of the street where the payphone was located and took a breath before stepping into the booth. His fingers slid the quarter into the coin slot and he quickly punched in Taehyung's contact, holding the phone close to his ear desperately anticipating an answer.

Twenty-five cents only gives me about a minute to speak.

I can't lose any time...

"Hello?" a voice on the other end speaks up.

"T-Taehyung! It's me, J-Jungkook. You need to come r-right now hyung, please pick me up, I really n-need you right now," Jungkook's lips quiver from the cold and the crying he'd done earlier.

"Jungkook are you okay? Were... are you crying?" Taehyung asks worriedly as he hears silent sniffles on the other end.

"I-I'm not okay... they-they kicked me out hyung. I'm don't know where to go Tae, I'm scared. P-please pick me up."

A stray tear rolls down his face as he shivers again.

"Kookie, it's okay. I'm on my way. Don't go anywhere okay?"

-<~><~><~>-

The sky was starting to get dimmer and dimmer, it got colder by the minute... still no sign of Taehyung. Jungkook's lost track of time at this point; it was probably close to midnight judging by the darkness outside of the payphone booth. Never has Jungkook felt so lonely and worried in his life. Taehyung wasn't here yet, and he promised he'd pick him up. If his best friend wasn't even there for him then who would?

Tears pricked his eyes again, making him hate how sensitive he was at the moment.

"Taehyung... when are you coming..."

Jungkook steps out of the payphone booth, into the cold street to check for any signs of Taehyung's arrival. Just then, a flash of light at the corner of the block shines brightly momentarily blinding him.

Taehyung? Please let it be you.

The car came to a stop against the curb and Jungkook gasped in surprise when Taehyung jumps out and runs to him. He let himself get enveloped in the olders warm arms and let his tears fall onto Taehyung's shoulder as he hugs him tightly.

Taehyung was beyond worried for the boy in his arms, especially when he was kicked out in the cold by himself late at night. He whispered reassuring things in Jungkook's ear to calm him down a bit before leading him to his car which was already heated to keep them both warm.

"Jungkook how long were you outside? Why did they make you leave?"

Taehyung helped him into the passenger seat and wiped the tears from Jungkook's cheeks. The younger hiccups but doesn't reply and Taehyung got the hint. He doesn't want to talk about it. He scurries to his side of the vehicle and hops in, sighing out of relief once he was seatbelted in.

"I'm taking you to my place is that alright with you, Kookie?" Taehyung asks.

"Okay..."

"But what took you so long to get here?" Jungkook adds. "I waited for so long... I thought you were gonna leave me... in the cold to freeze."

"Jungkook, I'm really sorry I wasn't able to make it in time," Taehyung says. His hand reaches to grab Jungkook's, giving it a squeeze of reassurance. "Don't ever think that I'm gonna leave you Kookie. I got so worried that I couldn't think properly and ended up driving through the long way instead of taking a shortcut."

"Okay..." he mumbles. Jungkook glanced at the time and as expected it was close to midnight which solved the question of why his eyes felt so heavy.

The rest of the car ride was silent with Jungkook slowly falling asleep beside Taehyung. Still, even when Jungkook was safe with Taehyung, he sensed that it's going to take a lot more effort to keep himself away from trouble next time.

But for now, he had Taehyung, and he'll be okay for now.
