•Day 6: Appointment•

{Day 6}
"Hey Jungkook, wanna do some organizing today?" Taehyung quipped.

"What? Why?" he asks.

"Well, I just want the house to be more accessible for you. We can figure out an organization system that could help you get around and do things around the house," Taehyung explained.

"Oh, we can do that," Jungkook smiles.

It's nice that Tae's caring for me so much that he's willing to change this house for me.

"Your specialist Namjoon suggested it to me a few days ago," Taehyung says. "He said that it would help you if you memorized where things were in the house and had an organization system. It could help you be more independent."

Jungkook hummed, though a realization came to mind. "Didn't you say I have a doctor's appointment today? Something about checking my eyes?"

"Oh right." Taehyung groaned. "Your appointment."

Jungkook wasn't too thrilled about it either, knowing that it would be his first time using his cane in public. The thought of people seeing him using one made him very anxious; like what if they judge? Jungkook wasn't confident with the tool yet and they were also going to get his head and eyes checked again; double the anxiety.

"It's too bad that Namjoon didn't teach you things outside yet, before this appointment today. It would've been easier and less stressful for you right?" Taehyung questioned.

"yeah..." Jungkook sighed glumly.

"But hey," Taehyung tried to cheer him up. "After this appointment, the doctors can find out how much you can see and how damaged your brain is, so we'll be closer to finding a solution when they form a plan."

(A/N): that sounded like an insult but okay ._.

"Mm, fine," Jungkook sighs. "I guess it's for a good reason..."

-<~><~><~>-

"Are you ready?" Taehyung asks.

Jungkook slowly nodded, firmly gripping his cane as if that was able to ease his nervousness.

"I'll help you to the car alright?" Taehyung offered an elbow for Jungkook and carefully guided him down the steps of the stairs, something he without a doubt searched on the internet for.

A sighted guide. Was the term.

Jungkook reluctantly followed beside him and got in the car. He tried to think of the positives of the situation instead of the bad ones; maybe it would help ease his anxiousness, but he found them profusely useless as Taehyung started down the road.

"How long does it take to get there?" he asked Tae.

"It won't be long Kook. Probably a fifteen-minute ride."

Jungkook nodded though he felt like crying. This was so pathetic. To go blind and to go through this hell of a world with only so many vision left, solely because of an accident caused by a dumb decision.

Jungkook had long forgotten the fact that the doctors had said that it was a temporary injury and that his vision could return. He was too far into the hole of darkness and desperation to think about the future.

It made him sick to his mind to know that Taehyung was doing this for him and that he didn't have to. Taehyung didn't have to take him in and practically raise him until he could live on his own. He could've left him alone on the cold street to rot and die from the cold.

But he didn't.

Taehyung was caring for him. He was giving him love, something he was deprived of ever since he was still in that crude home of his parents. He was helping him adapt to his new life.

But Jungkook was embarrassed, to say the least. Someone had snatched him out of his old depressing world and tossed him into a more scary and dark one. How was he supposed to get used to it? The fact that his life is now revolved around using a cane and feeling for things makes him want to cry for the umpteenth time he's thought about it.

Jungkook gave up, and let a tear fall onto his cheek. Taehyung seemed to notice immediately when Jungkook tries to hold in his sniffles.

"Kook, hey, what's wrong?" Taehyung asks worriedly. He could tell something was wrong but decided Jungkook telling him would be best instead of guessing, as he mostly does.

Jungkook wiped a tear. "I don't want to go." he cried. "Take me home!"

The look of desperation in his eyes made taehyung frown apologetically and instinctively grasp his hand. Jungkook's sniffles turned into cries, leaving taehyung dumbstruck and confused.

What got him so worked up?

Since they were already here, Taehyung parked in the first spot he could see and unbuckled his seatbelt. Leaning over to the nearly sobbing boy, he enveloped Jungkook in a hug and whispering comforting things to him, in an attempt to minimize his cries.

Was this a panic attack? Taehyung wondered. Why did Jungkook suddenly...

"Jungkook it's okay, you're okay. Mm... why are you upset baby? What's wrong?"

Not realizing the fact that he had just said 'baby', Taehyung was focused on trying to soothe the younger, and get him to calm down enough to explain the sudden outburst.

And Jungkook soon did, after hearing Taehyung's soft voice at his ear, whispering such things like "Hyung's right here kook, don't cry." "You're okay" "breathe jungkook, stop thinking about what you're thinking, focus on my breathing."

God, he loved how those words affected him.

"Jungkook, was there something bothering you?" Taehyung asked once the car grew silent. His hand was firmly gripped around Jungkook's in a sign of comfort as he waited for a reply.

"I... I'm scared." Jungkook admitted. "I don't know, this is scary. I hate this, tae."

"Jungkook, you don't need to be scared, yet you're choosing to be." Taehyung said. "I know that it's really hard for you, but that shouldn't stop you from trying to adapt to these new circumstances."

Jungkook weakly nodded. "A-are we here already?"

"Yes, kook. But we're early, so take as much time as you want to cool down before we head inside, okay? I won't force you to do something you're not comfortable with."

"O-okay."

Gosh I love him.

Jungkook took a breather, loosening his grip on Tae's hand which was a sign to Taehyung that he was okay again.

"Can we get going Jungkook?" he asked uncertainly. Jungkook nodded.

I can do this. It's not that far, right?

"I'll get you on the other side alright? Get out your cane kook," Taehyung reminded before he stepped out.

After jungkook got out of the car, he readied his cane and they both started down the sidewalk.

Yes jungkook was nervous, but he was trying his best to not be; namjoon said that focus was very important when he was traveling. Listening was too.

Luckily, there weren't many obstacles or bumps or cracks on the pavement, as they reached the building. With the help from Taehyung and his cane, Jungkook made it past the stairs.

This is a long walk, Jungkook thought. I wonder if anyone is staring...

"Tae?"

"Yeah?"

"There isn't anyone staring right? Do I look weird?"

"No kook, you're fine, don't worry about it, no one's here." he reassured. Tae then tried something he had seen Namjoon do. "Kook, we're right in front of the doors, can you find them for me?"

A simple thing Namjoon had taught him days ago, Tae wanted to see if he remembered.

Jungkook walked forward, remembering doing this a few days ago. he dragged his cane in front of him(parallel to the door) until he found the handle, a small smile growing on his face since he knew why taehyung had asked.

Taehyung grinned at the small success. "Good job kook."

Giving jungkook a pat on the back, they stepped inside, unconsciously holding one another's hand.

-<~><~><~>-

"See? That wasn't so bad." Taehyung said.

The taekook duo was now in the car heading back home after Jungkook's appointment.

Jungkook gave a small pout. "But it was uncomfortable!" he complained. "They checked my head!"

Taehyung laughed. "That's what they were supposed to do bun. To check your head injury."

"But it hurt a little!" he whined.

"You said a little. So it wasn't that bad Jungkook." Taehyung sighed. "Stop being a whiney baby. we got good results!"

"Humph..."

"All you have to do is stay well and rested. Be careful and don't get hurt." Taehyung stated.

Jungkook crossed his arms and frowned. "I hated that appointment," he mumbled.

"Kookie, how were you not like this when you had your previous appointments?"

"I was still in a daze from what had happened I guess." he shrugged. "I never thought about the current situation, but now... it's scarier."

Taehyung hummed acting as if he understood Jungkook's logic.

"But you're fine now. Don't tell me you're still scared for goodness sake."

"No, I'm not scared," Jungkook rolled his eyes. "Just weird."

But at least it's over...

"What can I do to make you feel better kook?"Taehyung asked. "I know you hated that so let me make it up to you."

Jungkook smiled. "Ice cream. Oh, and organizing our house. I'd like that."

Taehyung realized that Jungkook had finally accepted the fact that he was living with him now. ever since Jungkook moved here, he hadn't called Tae's house "our house", and Taehyung was happy that Jungkook was slowly accepting things.

Alright bun, I'll get you some ice cream." he smiled. "Then we can get to organizing, yeah?"

Jungkook blushed at the new nickname. It was strangely cute that Taehyung was referring to him as a bunny. But he wasn't complaining.

"yeah," Jungkook replied.

(A/N): I'm such a sucker for emotional scenes T^T
