New Heights

Mark knocked once on Donghyuck's door before it swung open. It revealed a messy haired Donghyuck with bleary eyes.

"What's up?" He asked yawning, gesturing for Mark to come inside.

Mark stepped inside the threshold before taking off his shoes. "Did you just wake up?" He asked as the pair walked to Donghyuck's room.

The boy in question nodded his head and Mark let out a little laugh. "You do realize it's 3'o clock right?"

Donghyuck merely shrugged, "I was playing video games all night. I kept losing and I wanted to win." He trailed off. "Maybe I need more sleep." Donghyuck said as they reached his room.

The boy flopped onto his bed as Mark sat beside him. He nudged Donghyuck's shoulder and the boy groaned in response.

He lifted his head to look at the older boy. "What?"

"Let's go out tonight." Mark said smiling. Donghyuck sputtered and his cheeks flames pink.

"O-okay." Was the stuttered response that he got. "That's sounds nice." He said smiling.

Mark tilted his head at the younger. Why did he seem so flustered? He shrugged it off before standing.

"I'll pick you up in four hours, okay?" Mark questioned. Donghyuck grinned as he nodded excitedly.

Mark chuckled, then left the house. Not before he heard Donghyuck jumping around in excitement.

Minutes later he arrived home, and jogged up to his room. He stood in front of his mirror frowning a bit before glancing in his closet.

An hour later, and he still couldn't figure out what to wear. He groaned flopping on his bed.

Why was picking an outfit so hard? He was only going out with Donghyuck. Or maybe- that was why.

After a lot of debate, Mark settled on a red hoodie with some jeans. He faced the mirror once again, fixing his hair slightly.

He entered the kitchen packing various types of candy, and stuffing a blanket in a bag. He knew he was completely horrible at cooking so he packed stuff that required absolutely no cooking at all- candy.

After leaving his house with the bag, he walked back to Donghyuck's house.

This time he rang the doorbell. He heard footsteps thudding down the stairs. Then he heard a loud bang followed by a curse. Mark laughed, Donghyuck must've fallen.

The door finally opened to reveal a breathless Donghyuck. He was dressed in a blue shirt and black leggings.

Mark nearly had a heart attack at how cute he looked. Donghyuck tilted his head and smiled, "Ready?"

Mark muttered something inaudible still staring at Donghyuck. He stepped outside and locked the door.

Taking a bus, they rode until they reached a certain stop. By then it was nighttime.

They stepped off the bus and Mark took the lead. Grabbing Donghyuck's hand that wasn't holding a basket, he weaved his way through a forest.

Finally coming to a stop, the boys stood at an edge of a cliff that had a perfect view of the stars.

It was so beautiful, it made them forget about the cliff.

Mark laid the blanket on the ground and they both sat on it. Taking out the candy they started munching on it.

They occasionally had a contest to see who could catch the most candy in their mouths. But a lot of the night was spent looking at the stars, and merely talking to one another.

"Hey Mark?" Said boy looked to Donghyuck questioningly.

"Yeah? What's up?" He said leaning towards Donghyuck.

"I- uhm." Donghyuck twisted his hands, biting his lip nervously. "D-do you want to go out together?" He asked, forcing the words out.

"Like today or-" Mark got cut off by Donghyuck shaking his head.

"Do I have to spell it out for you?" He asked rolling his eyes, his cheeks rosy in the moonlight. "Like on a date."

Mark opened his mouth, shocked. He tried to speak but no words came out.

Donghyuck looked down in embarrassment. "Never mind- just forget it." He muttered.

Mark blinked before taking his hand. "I'd love to." He said smiling as Donghyuck's face lit up like a Christmas tree.

Mark finally understood what that feeling he felt around Donghyuck was. It was love.

Mark stood up offering his hand to the boy, "Come on, I'll walk you home."

Just as the boy was about to take Mark's hand, Mark felt his center of gravity changed.

His eyes widened as he started free falling down the cliff.

Above him, he saw the creepy smile of the girls who killed him for a second time.

Donghyuck let out a cry, but it was no use. Mark's body already laid on the ground.
