A Storm is Brewing
Mark and Donghyuck were taking a walk to a karaoke store. Another date that Mark had asked Donghyuck on.
The pair shared an umbrella, walking comfortably in the rain. The boys always went to the karaoke store once a month.
It wasn't very popular but Donghyuck and Mark loved it. On the way, the duo just chatted about random things. It ranged from friends to music to food. They just talked about anything they felt like. It was nice.
A few minutes later they arrived at the karaoke place. Taking down the umbrella, they entered the building.
A man stood at the cashier playing on his phone as the pair walked over to him. They quickly asked for a room. The man rolled his eyes before ringing up the price. He didn't seem very happy to be working there.
He finally gave the boys a room and he left to go back to the resister.
Donghyuck flopped into the couch in the room as Mark riddled with a remote. He was looking for the one song that the boys sang together every since time they came.
The opening beats to Billionaire started to playing and Donghyuck leapt up to grab a microphone. He brought it to his mouth and started singing.
Mark had to say, Donghyuck had the voice of an angel. He must've been a singer in a past life or something.
Mark watched as Donghyuck goofed off while singing the song. As the rap part came up, Mark grabbed his mic and started rapping to Donghyuck. A bright smile plastered on his face.
Their voices twined in harmony as the song continued to go on. They we're jumping around like madmen when the song finally ended.
The pair of boys took one look at each other and merely laughed.
Mark and Donghyuck continued to sing. It ranged from English to Korean. Although, EXO was the most sung. They sang Growl too many times for them to count.
Hours passed before they finally left the karaoke place. It was still raining but Mark somehow broke the umbrella so they just walked.
The rain wasn't even bad, it was nice and warm. Droplets fell off their eyelashes as the rain fell.
After a little bit of walking, the pair slowed to a stop under a streetlight.
As wind whipped around, the air between them seemed to go quiet. The wind pelted them but the boys felt warm and rosy. The swaying streetlight illuminating the boys.
"Hey Donghyuck." Mark stared into Donghyuck's brown orbs. The eyes he could get lost in forever. His voice suddenly got caught in his throat. Mark gulped, sterling his nerves. "Will you- uh be my boyfriend?" He asked hopefully.
That's when Donghyuck started laughing. Mark was confused and kind of hurt to be honest. He looked down at his feet, a frown present upon his face.
"You looked so constipated." Donghyuck wheezed as Mark looked up. "And of course I'll be your boyfriend you big softy." He said smiling.
Mark let out a sigh of relief he didn't know he'd been holding in. A big smile graced his lips. "I love you." He said.
Donghyuck mocked a hair flip. "I love me to." He teasingly winked at Mark. "And you are good to I guess."
Mark let out a noise of disbelief. He wasn't offended in the slightest though. It was who Donghyuck was, and he wouldn't be himself if he didn't sass Mark. It was one of the sides Mark loved about him.
Donghyuck stepped towards Mark and put his lips on the older. Mark's eyes closed as he leaned into the younger boy. Rain pounded around them, but they didn't care. Their lips crashed against each other in sync, everything was perfect.
Until a crack of lightning streaked from the sky. The pair parted, looking up to see the streetlight sparking. And it was crashing down to the boys.
Mark's body acted on impulse. He quickly pushed his boyfriend out of harms way, taking the hit as his own.
Electricity raced up his spine as a strangled scream attempted to escape his lips.
No sound rang in the night however.
In fact, it was silent except for a young boy sobbing over his lover.
