Entry #2
"I got home late tonight, and I was taking Rocky for his walk about 20 minutes ago, so, uh... around midnight. This was near the set of Marble Hornets. A little bit farther down the road, we saw this really tall guy standing in the middle of the street... just, completely still. For whatever reason, this really set off Rocky and he got really scared. He wouldn't move and he kept on pulling on his leash to go back home. There was something about this guy that was just... It was strange. So we headed back home. I have a little bit of time left on this tape, and I'm gonna go see if he's still hanging around. In fact, I think this is the light he was standing under." Alex pulled his car up to the street light, causing a bright light to barge into his area of sight. He exited the car, looking up at the streetlight, particles of unknown matter and bugs swarming around the flickering source of illumination. He looked back down at the car, only 2 months old and in mint condition, minus a few marks from the rain and snow. He weaved the camera through the thick darkness, informing the audience (the audience being himself) that the tall creature was nowhere to be seen. He looked down at the camera mid-sentence, noticing that it was out of tape. "Shit," he mustered under his breath, turning around to put the camera back in his car.
"I guess there's no reason for me to be here without the camera," he spoke as he shut the car door. "If I find something, I'll never let myself live it down that I couldn't get proof of it." He walked around to the back of the car, checking if he had any tapes lying around in the trunk. Nothing. "I'll need to buy some more to keep in the car tonight. The rest of the tapes are in the house, and I'd prefer that they stay there."
He had a habit of talking to himself when no one was around. He found it calming, though he knew that he was getting more and more insane as time went on. He was stubborn, however. He believed that he could simply tell himself that he was okay, and he would be, no matter how bad things got.
He opened the car door, but before he could even step in, he heard a rustle in the trees and bushes surrounding him. He wanted to believe that it was just an animal, but instinct told him otherwise. He quickly turned around, analyzing the area around him. Nothing was to be seen; only heard.
He shrugged it off, hoping that it was only an animal. As he stepped inside of the car, he was grabbed by a tall, towering creature. It pulled him close, so they were mere inches away from one another.
"I'm done."
The creature cocked its head and looked down at the man.
"I'm done pretending that I don't know what you are; and for what? A stupid series on the internet? I've had enough." He forced himself away from the creature and stepped into his car, slamming the door. He turned the key and began to drive away from the slender being.
It appeared in front of him suddenly, causing him to swerve into the opposite lane. Luckily, it was the middle of the night on a street surrounded by a forest, so no cars were coming the opposite direction. He continued to drive, ignoring the being, which was no screeching behind him. He rolled down his window and shouted at it.
"I'm not playing your game! You can't control me anymore!" The gas petal hit the floor, and a sudden, strong force took over the car. It sped faster than it had ever gone, straight into a tree, causing its driver to fly out of the windshield and into the darkness, consuming him quickly.
The creature stood by the forest, watching the man take his last breaths.
