I got back into the car where I now sat in-between Tom and Emilio. "So where are we going now?" I ask as I rest my head against the head rest in the back seat. "We're going back to the set to see if the fault has been fixed." Tom explains. I nod in response; I was a little nervous about going to the movie set. Francis Ford Coppola would be there professionals would be there. S.E HINTON WOULD BE THERE!

I hear Emilio chuckle next to me and then grab my hand "You alright there? You seem a little nervous." I try to smile "uh yeah...I am just a little nervous about being surrounded by such professional people." Which wasn't a complete lie I was just mainly nervous because I was about to meet both S.E Hinton and Francis Ford Coppola. Emilio chuckles "Don't be. They're all just people like you and me." "Yeah but I'm just some outsider." I grin and they all laugh. "Nicely done." Emilio holds his hand up and I high five it calming down slightly.

We arrive at the set where people appeared to be rushing around with costumes, loose pieces of paper and props. I think Emilio could still see I was nervous because he draped is arm over my shoulder and smiled at me. I took a deep breath and we started walking...where to? I wasn't sure.

It's so weird to think that a few days ago I was just some ordinary college girl and now I was a girl hanging out with 7 of the best actors from the 80's.

We stop walking and I drop my jaw in awe of who was standing in front of me it was both Francis Ford Coppola and S.E Hinton. They looked to be going over a script or something.
"Hey Susie. Cameras ready yet?" Matt smiles and takes a drag on a cigarette.
"Yeah but we are all gonna meet back here in about 2 hours."
"But boys I want you to report to hair and makeup before the meeting." Francis instructs pointing around with his pen.
"Who's this?" My idol asks smiling sweetly towards me.
"Oh Susie this is AJ. AJ this is Susie Hinton or her secret undercover alias S.E Hinton for when she goes on secret missions even though she claims it's just so people would take her writing serious." Emilio jokes nudging my side Susie chuckles with a roll of her eyes.
"It's nice to meet you AJ."
"Like wise. I love your books! You're an amazing writer." I then mentally face palm myself for fangirling around her but she just blushed and hugged me.
It took me by surprise for a second but I then hugged her back. "Thank you. That means a lot!" she whispered in my ear then let go.

"Bloody hell where is that assistant of mine?" Francis grumbled looking around and throwing his hands up in the air.
"You don't have one." Susie said as if she had said it a million times.
"Well then I need to get one." He grumbles flicking through the series of papers in his hands.
Francis Ford Coppola needs an assitant? I thought for sure he would have one.
Ask for the job. My subconscious adds, i would love to work on the movie. To be able to work with amazing talent would be the opportunity of a life time.
Before I can stop myself the words tumble out of my mouth.

"Well what about me?" everyone looked at me like they were sizing me up.

"W-Well it's just I have nothing else to do here and I'm a hard worker, punctual and reliable." Francis's expression doesn't change he just seems to keep staring.

"Alright you're hired. $8 an hour and don't even think about asking for a raise. You start in 2 hours when we start filming." I nod and smile "Thank you so much." He just nods then walks away.

"This'll be great we can work together every day now." Emilio pulls me closer to him and I breathe in and am overwhelmed by his scent. He smelt like soap and old spice it was almost intoxicating so much so I had to pull away.

It was 2 hours later and the boys had all their hair and make-up done and were now in their costumes. I walked up to Francis "Hi um sir what would you like me to do?" 

"No need to call me sir just call me Francis and you can just stand here while I speak and tell everybody what is going on. Oh and I apologise about my attitude before I am normally very easy to get along with but when I am frustrated I tend to get snappy...just a warning." I smile and nod then turn to look at the crowd of people in front of us. Francis cleared his throat and then began speaking.

"Hello everyone and welcome to our first day of filming." Everyone erupted into applause and a few whistles and cheers were heard. 

"Thank you. Now a few things we have a schedule to stick to so please refer to it so you know where you have to be and when. Secondly let's try and get this done and fast and efficiently as possible so minimal stuffing around but in saying that still have fun. Any questions please come to either Susie or myself or my new assistant AJ who is starting today." I wave at the crowd and blush. 

"I think that's it so let's get started." Another round of applause erupts but dies away quickly as people disperse.

Susie then runs up flustered "Francis. One of the important extras dropped out and she is in numerous scenes. Including the one we are about to shoot." 

"Shit!" he curses and looks around before his eyes land on me.

 "What is it?" I ask. "Had any acting experience?" I was confused by his question that I actually had to think about whether I had or not "Uh...yeah I was the lead in two of my school musicals. Why?" 

"How do you feel about being an extra in some scenes?" I was taken aback by his question but was also really excited. "That would be awesome." 

"Great get to hair and make-up now!" I nod then run to where I was hanging with the boys before when they were getting ready.

I walked in to the cramped space "Hey Dee Dee Hey Jack!" they look at me confused and exchange a look I swear they are so alike. 

"What are you doing here Autumn Jane?" 

"I'm here to get my hair and make-up done...apparently I'm now an extra because one dropped out." Dee-Dee nods  with a smile and then pats the chair in front of her signalling me to sit. 

She starts brushing my long brown waves.

 "Your hair is absolutely gorgeous...I think what we will do is tease the top give you a bit of a bump...very sixties and then just leave the rest out and straighten it. Sound good?" 

"Yeah sounds real pretty."

20 minutes later and my hair was done she then started on my makeup accentuating my eyes by doing my eye shadow in gold and blending it with a lighter shade then applying black thick winged eyeliner and finishing with mascara she then smeared clear coloured lip gloss on to my lips. Jack then rushed me to costumes where I met Marjorie she was nice. "Here wear this...I think it will look real nice on you." I smile and go behind the curtain to get changed. It was a simple black and white striped crop top that showed only a sliver of my stomach and had thick straps and didn't fit tightly to my body I also got a pair of high waisted blue jeans and white pumps with a small heal. It was a little odd but I guess it was the 60's.

When I got there I heard wolf whistles and I turned around to see the guys staring at me and smirking "Man the 60's sure do suit you." Matt looked me up and down greedily "Pig." I retort and walk over to Francis. I don't know why I was so rude to Matt like he was my celebrity crush I guess it was because of the way he looked at me like I was some sort of meal.

"Where do you want me Francis?" 

"Well we are actually going to the local movie theatre where we will shoot one the opening scenes."

"Ok sure."

We arrived at the old movie theatre which looked so beautiful. We walk inside where the crew sets up the cameras and all other equipment. "Ok all extras please sit in the middle row and ah Tommy sit...here." He points to a seat and that's where Tommy sits. "Ok now when the screen goes blank Tommy you get out of your chair and walk up the aisle and out the doors. Everybody else, begin to get out of your seats but nobody enter the aisle until Tommy has walked past you. Understand?" a collective of murmurs came from the other extras answering Francis.

I took a random seat somewhere in the middle and sat there until Francis called "Action." I began to pretend to watch the large screen which was only a white base. Tommy got up and started walking to the doors I stood up fixed my top and then began walking towards the aisle. "Cut." Francis yells I stop and look towards him. "Ok that was great everyone...ah Tommy maybe act a bit more as if you are sad that the movie has ended. Remember Ponyboy loves movies he loses himself in them." Tommy nods and then looks at me. Why? I don't know, but I smile and mouth "you did great." he grins and walks back down to his seat. 

We do it 7 more times just because Francis wanted to make sure it was perfect and he wanted to get it from different angles. We then had to film us walking out of the movie theatre. Francis gives us our instructions and we all follow what he tells us to do and it's over in only 4 takes.

"Ok wrap on that. AJ can you go and get me a coffee please? A latte made with skim milk, 3 sugars, 2 shots of vanilla and cinnamon sprinkled on top. I try hard to remember him that I don't even answer he just hands me some money and I walk off to the nearest coffee shop running the order over and over in my head.

I walk into the coffee shop and place the order. While I wait for the coffee I take a seat in one of the booths but am startled when Emilio joins me. 

"Oh hey." I greet with a small smile.

"Hey AJ what are you doing here?" I shrug "Getting Francis a coffee." He smiles and starts playing with a straw wrapper. 

"It must suck being his bitch hey?" I roll my eyes playfully "I'm not his bitch. I'm yours." I then blush and put my head in my hands "I am so sorry I have NO idea why I said that." 

He just laughs and pulls my hands away from my face. "It's fine. No need to cover that beautiful face of yours." I didn't know what to say "Thanks." Was all I could manage and it sounded weak and forced.

"Hey AJ would you perhaps want to go on a-" 

"Coffee for AJ?" the staff member called out I turned around to see him holding out towards me I stand up and grab the cup "Thanks." I mumble and then turn back to Emilio "I um got to go I'll see ya later?"

 "Wait I wanted to ask you something." I shake my head "I gotta get back to Francis I'll see you later."

I race out the door and slow down when I get around the corner oh my god why did I do that? I could have had the chance to go on a date with Emilio Estevez! And I just chickened out and ruined all chances of that happening. Why would I do that? Just run out on him. I now felt so guilty I felt like I could be sick.

I got back to set and handed Francis his coffee and nodded in acknowledgment and then went back to talking to somebody.

I saw Tommy standing by his lonesome and decided to go and talk to him. 

"Hey Tommy what's up?" he shrugs "Not much just waiting to start filming again. Francis says we may not have time again today though." 

"Oh ok." I lean against the same red brick wall he was leaning against. 

"Hey Tommy?" 

"Yeah Aj?" 

"What do you think of Emilio?" he looks at me with a questioning look "He's a real nice guy and yeah he'd be a good guy to go out with." I look at him with wide eyes and my mouth open a little bit. "Wh-I-I didn't say anything." he snickered and then shook his head at me. "You didn't have to it was pretty obvious. Just go out with him AJ." He then walked off I stood there a little dumbfounded was I seriously that easy to read?
