Yumi's POV:
I stare at the car window.
with a blank expression all over my face.
All I kept worrying about was if Jeonmin finds out I'm not home,he'll hunt me down and drag me back to the hellhole that is our apartment.
Possibly to start fighting with me again.
Our fights have never been physical,thank god.
But still the yelling matches we have,you would think I would walk out by now.
Yet here I am.
My thoughts are interrupted by Melody's words.
"We're here!" She says and I snap out of it.
I pull off a fake smile which she quickly reads and locks all of the car doors when I try to open them.
"What's on your mind?" She asks me and I shake my head.
"Nothing" I say lying through my teeth.
She leans over and grabs one of my hands.
"Talk to me..is there something wrong at home? Girl if there's any red flags I'll kill him for you!" She says and I laugh.
Her face calms seeing me laugh,but in a weird morbid way I sorta wish he would die or disappear entirely.
"I'm fine Mel,we just had a fight that's all." I say and she raises a eyebrow at me.
"About what?" She asks me and I sigh loudly.
"We were..-"
"Fucking?" She asks me and I gasp.
"Umi we're adult women and you still call that love-making?" She asks me giggling.
She probably thinks I'm a church girl at this point.
"No no it's just I don't like calling it that..plus it's love we're making at that moment" I say fiddling with my fingers.
"So what's up?" She asks me again.
"He said his ex's name instead of mines..." I say and my eyes water remembering the moment.
I hated how much his ex left a effect on him,he had a tattoo of her name on his body.
He kept a painting she did for him,she was a artist apparently.
Almost everything he has at the apartment was given to him by his ex..so what's the point of being with me instead of her right?
"That's terrible...I would kill Kyle if he tried that" she says & she glances over at me.
"Hey hey no tears! He's not worth those tears" she says and I nod.
"We're here to be away from that so take a deep breath & let's exhale all that bad bullshit" she says and I nod again silently.
She unlocks the car doors after I let out a deep sigh.
We both get out of the car and I smile faintly as I see the gorgeous view of the crystal-clear lake that it's drinkable.
Even from afar,it's a sight to behold.
The birds chirping in the trees greet us,it's like we're trapped in a low budget live action Disney Princess film.
I open her car's trunk and take out our bags.
We change in the car into our bathing suits.
We've seen each other naked countless times so it was second nature stripping stark naked in front of each other.
We crawl out of the car and bolt towards the lake.
We set up our chairs and bags close to the water & as Melody lays down to tan for a little.
I step slowly over to the water and I take a swim.
As I'm swimming,I glance over at a couple who are here at the lake with us also.
The guy looks so familiar but something's throwing me off.
The girl isn't familiar but she's all over him.
I tear my eyes away when me & the guy lock eyes.
"Fuck" I mutter under my breath.
"Hopefully he didn't notice" I whisper to myself.
I see the girl walk out of the water to tan like Melody.
Shit.
I'm alone in this water with this dude.
As I'm about to start swimming back,the guy swims past me without glancing at me once.
My heart is beating out of my chest at this point so I rush out of the water and lay next to Melody.
I sigh when I catch the guy staring at,not the girl who most likely is his girlfriend but instead she clearly doesn't exist because he's staring directly at me.
He doesn't even bother being discreet about it,he just stares deeply at me.
I grow uncomfortable so I cover myself in my white knitted beach coverup.
Eventually this catches the eye of Melody who curses at the guy and this causes the girl to start bickering with Melody who puts her in her place.
Eventually we leave and as we're driving off,we start laughing about how stupid the whole thing looked in the first place..
Today was a wild day,let's hope it ends well tonight
Especially since I have to unfortunately face Jeonmin tonight....

We're now on Book 4 and it's about Yumi's adult life as she struggles with school,a bubbling acting career and her somewhat non-existent love life.
In this chapter,we see Yumi & Melody her childhood best friend are having a girls getaway for a day which is basically a break for Yumi from Jeonmin.
We see her breaking down to Melody about the reality of her relationship with Jeonmin.

Matter of fact in this chapter we see a guy has eyes for Yumi already,who is this mysterious man?
