Yumi's POV:
the weather,still cold and now the rain returned sadly.
bringing another gloomy day to NYC.
but here I am with a umbrella covering myself from the cold rain that literally feels like liquid snow falling from how cold it is.
I take a deep breath in and out before pressing the marble doorbell that's right in front of me,which awaits me to press my thumb against it.
I tap my feet impatiently until the door opens & our comes Mingyu in his black comfy Nike pants & white plain tee.
His hair wavy and in his face,it's long enough to cover it.
He pushes it back to look better at me & rolls his eyes.
He tries to close the door when my feet gets in the way.
I shove myself inside.
I look around,it's pretty nice his apartment.
I'm glad I memorized the address.
I mean it's 4 brownstones away from his parents but still good to know.
"Mingi..I can explain my behavior that happened-"
"No need but I'm really tired from working all night" he says and I look around to see his apartment matching him.
Messy with stuff thrown everywhere.
"Mingi can we talk? I think it's better we do." I say taking off my coat and putting my umbrella away.
He pats the sofa next to him.
I sit down and he looks at me.
"The reason why I've been avoiding you is because...me & Zaire aren't dating. we came up with it to make you jealous because we saw you and Kellyann-"
"Wait to make me jealous? Why would I be?" He says
I sigh and realize what I just done.
Revealed myself to him and he doesn't feel the same.
This is so awk-
"When I know I'm a better match for you than Zaire anyway-" he says
Wait what? I scream internally inside.
He takes a sip of soda after saying that.
"well..you and Kellyann made my blood boil so I tried to make you jealous.." I say blushing.
"So who's the jealous one now?" He asks me smirking.
It's a fucking nuisance how hot he is,that even drinking soda it's a attractive sight to behold.
"Well it obviously worked for you to get so affected by it-"
"Oh sweetheart,that was cute. I kept annoying you because I wanted to talk just like we're doing now." He says
"Plus it's no surprise you tried to make me jealous,I mean..have you seen me compared to Zaire though? You could've picked anyone else." He adds
He's so cocky,it's disgusting.
"Anyway since you're having your fun I'll get going then." I say getting up and he wrestles me onto the couch.
He lands on top of me.
I tackle him and we wrestle for a while until he finally pins me down.
We're out of breath & staring intensely at each other.
"I think I like you" I blurt out
"I think I like you too." He says and grabs my wrist.
"I like everything about you,even when you're bossy and sassy with me" he says and pulls me up from the couch.
"I like the way you style your hair,I like the way you laugh,the way you view things. You're a special girl to me." He adds
He's gushing out so much compliments I can't help but blush and pull my face away from his.
"We should go on a proper date,not us almost having our first kiss on the couch after we finished wrestling" he says
"Wait who said I wanna date you?" I ask raising my eyebrow at him.
"Playing hard to get with me Ms. Jeon?" He says chuckling.
"I might" I say smirking.
"But if you want me to date you,better work for it" I say looking away from him.
Just to tease him.
He grabs my face.
My heart rate goes up from feeling his rough hands on me,but I keep my composure.
I'm still so young to be reacting like this.
I hate my hormones.
"Will you Yumi go on a date with me?" He asks me.
"Why not" I say laughing.
He tickles my sides.
"That's not the answer I wanna hear" he says laughing also.
I roll my eyes playfully.
"Fine fine,yes I'll go on a date with you!" I say and he holds me in his arms.
"Forget I think...I do like you" he says and I turn around to face him.
"I like you too" I say and my phone buzzes.
"Mom: sweetie we're having lunch at Auntie Ashley's please come! where are you?" I read out loud.
"My mother invites you over more than her own son?" He says to me feigning hurt.
"You moved out before college so I say.. you made your bed, now sleep in it" I say giggling.
"I'll drive you there" he says putting on a jacket.
"But what if they see us all cozy together?" I ask him and he smirks.
"Then let them see" he says grabbing my wrist again.
I smile & put my jacket on.
"So we're forgiven now? No more fights?" I tell him.
"No more..for now but yeah we're good " he says laughing.
"Now where should we go for our first date?" I ask him.
"Let's not speak on that right now let's first get to my mom's" he says
"You know usually girls have to wait to meet the mother but in my case she's my godmother" I say and he lets out a loud laugh.
"That's true!" He says & grabs my arm to link it with his.
"Let's go.." he says
We get in his car to drive to his mom's..
it's crazy to think a few days ago,we were yelling at each other just to now create a somewhat flirty "relationship".
let's see where this goes..
I get a text on my phone and I read it quietly.
"Zaire😂: hey doll! coming home at 9pm see you soon? alright bye ;)"

I wanna thank you guys for supporting the entire "7 men and a baby series" so much that both the first book has almost 50k+ reads & the second book is starting to create buzz as well!
now we're onto our third & hopefully we'll create a book to finish this series on a good note :)
now we all know I love drama in my stories but I tried to keep it more lighter the tone until the ending lol.
this chapter we see the fluttering stage of Yumi & Mingyu's relationship after we see them express their feelings for each other which is reciprocated peacefully but in a goofy manner.
no characters other than Ashley & Zaire the man of the hour was named.
since I kept them out to save them for the juicy chapters coming next.
