Yumi's POV:
The clouds in the sky,mimic my emotions inside.
Hues of blue & grey cover the heavens as I lay in my bed in only mini pj shorts and a oversized white hoodie.
I had started to count down the days for Mingyu's acceptance letter to arrive.
They told him he would receive news today,my heart beats out of my chest while it simultaneously breaks apart in millions of tiny pieces.
That would mean our fate is one of those letters.
My fingers are crossed for NYU.
Even if I don't stay here while he's at college in New York,it would give me a reason to come back to this state.
Today is also the day my parents and the rest of the family meet up to have a huge meeting with Hitman Bang over something important,it's so important I wasn't allowed even a small hint of what it was.
They just ran out of the house without saying bye.
Strange.
Ugh whatever,today is about Mingyu.
Mingyu's on his way over with his MacBook,he sounds so excited on the phone that it gives me anxiety.
I fiddle with my hoodie drawstring and tap my feet impatiently until I hear the doorbell ring.
I rush over frantically and I let out a deep sigh when I see it's him.
I try to keep my composure and I twist the doorknob.
I open the door and he smiles at me.
I stare into his eyes and all I see is love.
It's like he has hearts engraved in those gorgeous chocolate eyes.
I could stay here looking at those eyes of his forever.
Mine are just as brown as his but his hue is slightly lighter.
It's like honey and chocolate swirling inside.
Yup,I definitely stare too long.
I snap out of it and I let him in.
He walks in & places his book bag on the kitchen counter.
"I got your favorite.." he says and I raise a eyebrow at him.
"Mingi-"
He pulls out a hot bag and I look at him weirdly.
I sit down on the couch and open it up.
I gasp when I see it's Bungeo-ppang (also known as Carp Bread).
Filled with sweet red bean paste.
He remembered how I told him,that in Seoul my dad would buy me tons of these every winter and especially for my birthday.
He still does it but this year would've been my first year of my life without it.
That was until today,when Mingyu surprises me with 4 of my favorite fish shaped pastry.
I giggle and he sits next to me.
He puts his arm over my shoulder and I lean in his arms.
"See? I knew my baby was grumpy from being hungry!" He says as I munch on a piece of it.
I feel way better at the moment,but that comment makes me nudge him playfully and he laughs.
"Don't worry you're my grumpy princess" he says kissing my forehead and I pout my lips.
"Aish whatever!" I say clearly sounding frustrated and he tickles my sides.
"Ah! No no no MINGI STAWP IT!" I scream laughing and kicking maniacally.
He eventually stops and I return to my snacking.
I watch him carefully pull out his MacBook and plug in his extension cord into it.
He types in his password but i can't focus on it due to me staring at him.
Again.
I scan his features as he looks intensely at the laptop,I mean he's so focused as he types and opens tabs.
"So babe did you apply to the others?" I ask him referring to the other colleges he mentioned to me.
"Well Williams College hasn't reported back yet and NYU seems like they too haven't received anything yet" he says
I sigh loudly and he glances at me.
He shrugs quietly and goes back to his typing.
I glance over at the screen and see the words "University of California Berkeley" in bold red letters.
My jaw drops when he reads out loud.
"Congratulations Mingyu Kim you've been accepted to the University of California Berkeley campus" after he finishes reading he jumps up and down in excitement while me on the other hand.
I act like I'm not wanting to cry a whole river.
Matter of fact I feel numb.
My eyes struggle to hold back the tears so I avoid his gaze.
I shouldn't be this attached to him, I have never been so clingy in my life until he showed up and ruined me.
He notices I haven't spoken and leans down.
"Umi? Babe...are you..crying?" He asks me and lifts my chin gently with his fingers.
My now red eyes that are filled with tears stare into his and I fall apart.
He grabs me and comforts me in his strong arms.
"Babe...what's wrong?" He asks me softly and I sniffle.
"I-I don't know...I guess I hoped NYU would've  accepted you and I know my stay here in New York is short term but I wanted a way to come back and see you" I say as the tears roll down my cheek.
"Babe. Our love is strong enough to withhold the distance! We'll FaceTime every night,text every hour and try to take flights in between to see each other three times in a year if we can" he says and wipes my tears away.
"I'm sorry Mingi I sound so selfish over here crying because you got accepted into one of the universities of your dreams!" I say feeling ashamed of my behavior.
He hooks his arms under my legs and carries me bridal style to my room.
"Someone needs cuddles,let's go" he says as he walks up the stairs with me.
He places me on my bed gently and puts a blanket over me.
He climbs into my bed and I lay in his arms.
"I look so silly making you do this" I say still mad at myself.
"Babe I'm your boyfriend and I will comfort you in any mood swing you shall have. I'll gladly accept all of them!" He says and I look at him.
"You really think we'll survive?" I ask him
"C'mon we've known each other since we were in diapers" he says
"You longer than me" I say bragging about how I outgrew mine at 2 years old and he stopped at 4 years old.
"Ok not everyone is a baby genius like you princess" he says rolling his eyes playfully.
"Glad you feel better" he adds and I smile faintly.
"My head hurts can you get me a Advil from my parents bathroom?" I ask him and he runs to my parents's bedroom.
He gets a pill of Advil and a bottle of water from downstairs.
He comes back and hands me the pill.
I put it in my mouth and he hands me the bottle.
I chug down the bottle and swallow the pill.
"Thank you baby" I say rubbing my head and he gets on the bed.
He grabs the bottle and places it on the table next to my bed.
He crawls over to me and plants a kiss on my forehead.
"My lips feel lonely" I say pouting and he leans in.
He kisses me softly and we go back to cuddling.
We eventually sleep and I hum in my sleep when I hear light rumbles of thunder.
Another rainy day in New York City.
- MEANWHILE -
Alana's POV:
The boys and Hitman are holding a meeting to talk about the current situation of all of us searching for a potential block to live at in Brooklyn.
"So you guys want to stay here? Is that what I'm hearing?" Hitman asks the boys and they nod.
"You see boss,our kids are getting older and with that being said we are too. We wanna live here..South Korea will forever be our home but we feel like it's one of the best places for our kids to be at the moment" Namjoon says as the rest of the boys agree.
"So which block are you currently looking at?" Hitman asks and we all shrug.
To be honest every place we looked is already sold.
"Leave it to me! so it's settled! BTS in New York!" He says and the boys jump up with pure joy.
Me and the girls celebrate outside.
Wait till I tell Yumi..
-after a while later-
I come home to find the house clean,strange.
With Luna & Daemin alone this place should've looked like a pigsty when I walked in.
But I find everything in it's places.
I raise a eyebrow and call Yumi downstairs.
I see her walk downstairs smiling ear to ear.
"Did you hear the news?" I ask her and she nods.
"So you're really happy we're staying in New York?" I ask her and she freezes.
I mean that was what she was talking about right?
Yumi's POV:
I froze in place hearing my mom's words.
"Wait so we're staying?" I ask her and she nods.
"What news did you hear?" She asks me.
"Mingyu got accepted to Berkeley." I say and she smiles big.
"Oh honey you must be so excited for him!" She says and I shake my head.
"Not actually because he'll be so far,there will be prettier girls..girls who are more fun...girls who aren't prudes like ME!" The last part comes out as a scream and my mom jumps a little.
"Sweetie,if he loves you he can wait for you" she says and I hug her tightly.
"Mom face it,imma lose him in California" I say tearing up.
"Sweetie,you're not gonna lose him. You'll still be in the same country" she says pushing some of my hair out of my face.
"You both got this okay?" She adds and I nod.
She holds me right.
"My big girl,it's okay honey let it out" she says as I sniffle in her arms.
It's bittersweet this announcement but at least I'M STAYING IN NEW YORK CITY.
Yet..I'm staying and my lover is leaving.
Wow...

We're now on Book 3 and it's about Yumi's teenage years.
In this chapter,we see Yumi break down to Mingyu.
All about her anxieties for the future of their relationship,about the far distance between them & we see big man Mingyu step up and comfort his love with gentle hugs and words of assurance.
Mingyu is accepted into Berkeley to his delight.
However we also see Yumi still struggling to grapple Mingyu attending college out of state.
Meanwhile Alana & The boys have exciting news about their current temporary stay in New York which is soon to be permanent.
We only have 3 chapters left in this book!
