"Run!" Patrick screams, hands pulled behind him by the cop. Pete is terrified, eyes wide, heart slowed, too slow. There's a moment where the forest seems to shrink around him, but then come the cops and he panics.

"RUN!" Patrick urges, and then he's gone, head ducked into the cop car.

Blue comes after him. Pete runs.

The branches come by fast, his eyes are on the ground, careful not to trip over anything. He's sprinting off the path. Flashlights pass him by, he is terrified.

He keeps going.

He isn't sure how long he runs, minutes or hours. The trees rush past him, he twists and turns, he ducks under trees and over bushes, and his heart is pounding, to the same beat as his feet. Fast and rushed.

The yelling fades, they lose him, slowly but surely. And he keeps running.

He runs until he can't. Until he nearly passes out.

And by then, he's lost.
