Chapter Eighteen: Shocker.

What did I honestly write? Think this when you get to the end of the chapter.

Is it sad I barely knew the Olympics were happening this year? Like I swear I didn't see that many commercials or anything until the actual event started...

Chapter Eighteen: "Shocker."

"YOU DID WHAT?" I exclaimed in complete shock.

"See you're going to judge me." She said back, looking like she wanted to rip the hair from her head.

I was literally one of the last people who could judge her doing that but...

"I'm not judging you I'm just-what?" I said in disbelief, hoping that I didn't exactly hear what I just heard.

Jasmine sat down on the chair, her hands in her face while I was thinking about this and possibly dramatically freaking out but I had a point to.

"Are you serious?" I asked again, pulling up a chair to sit in front of her.

"Yeah," she sighed. "It just happened."

"How? How did it happen? A-and with who?" I asked her.

"This guy. His name's Ace. He's my roommate's friend and we met on the first day. I told him about Andrew and stuff and he knew. He really did. It wasn't his fault, it was mine."

"What happened?"

"Tension. A lot of tension that was hard to ignore and he didn't want to bring it up because I was still with Andrew but I just-I made it happen one night."

"You..." I trailed off, my eyes widening.

Jasmine looked down and nodded. "Yeah we did that."

I got up from the chair and started to pace because what was Andrew going to say? He loved her. He really did. The guy was so happy to see her again and be with her, he practically ignored how she didn't talk to him for weeks and left him on edge.

I didn't even judge Jasmine for that and I wasn't going to judge her for having sex with another guy. I respected her choices but this was a choice I wish she had thought over before she did it.

They were at a long distance apart, literally in two other places but even though like Justin had once told me that distance usually made the heart grow fonder it didn't work out like that for them. Oh God.

"Macy calm down." She told me, getting up from her seat.

I stopped in front of her, looking her in the eye. "Do you love this-this Ace guy?"

She licked her lips nervously, closing her eyes for a brief moment before letting out a breath. "I think I do."

"Do you still love Andrew?"

"Of course I do. I felt so guilty that that happened and I-I didn't want to imagine his face if I was going to tell him."

"If? If? You're going to tell him right?" By now I was gripping her shoulders making sure she had the right state of mind because there should be no if. She should tell him. This was his relationship with the girl he loved that was starting to fall apart.

"I-I don't know." Jasmine said, putting a hand over her eyes.

"Jasmine," I said quietly. "You have to tell him."

"I don't-I don't want to let him go. He's been there for me forever. I still love him.'

"I know that."

"And if I tell him it's going to break his heart and I don't want to destroy our relationship or even our time's worth of friendship over this."

"Jasmine..." I sighed when put her face in her hands.

"But I already have."

I licked my lips, standing in front of her. "I just..."

"What?"

"I don't know. I just can't believe you did that. I mean I definitely should not be-"

"No," Jasmine stood up. "You should-can be talking. You didn't even know your own feelings properly at that time but I did. I do. I understood my feelings for Andrew but went for someone else anyway."

I didn't say anything when Stevie returned a Pop-tart in her hand. She handed it to me and I pulled a smile for her, taking it with gratitude. She must've noticed the weirdness in the room as her eyes darted from Jasmine to me. "Everything okay here?"

"Yup," I answered when Jasmine silently went back to putting her mascara on. "It's fine."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't even know if it was because I was looking anxious as I watched the boys come back from wherever they were or because I was fiddling with my fingers and kept touching the material of the long blue dress I was wearing. The second Sam was back, he stopped in front of me, his face filled with concern. "What's wrong?"
I looked at him up and down. From his shoes-black converse I knew when Liz saw him she may have a meltdown at the tragic combination of clothing to the dark blue tuxedo he was sporting with a black bowtie like every other guy even Phillip who walked into the house grumbling. I barely even noticed the question because I couldn't take my eyes off of him. And that's why he's a model and a Cahill because he's extremely good looking especially with his smoldering green eyes.
"Nothing." I responded while Stevie tried to gather some of the boys so they could take pictures.
Sam looked at me, the kind of look that made me feel as if he was looking right through me. His hands went up to my arms and he moved them up and down in a calming gesture. "Hazel you sure? You look bothered by something." He said quietly.
I was about to push the subject away when I saw Andrew come in, a bright smile on my best friend's face. Sam followed my gaze and I think he noticed what I was thinking about even though I tried not to show it in my expression. "It's something about him and Jasmine isn't it?"
I didn't say anything and Sam continued to speak. "She did something. Something that he's probably not aware of, didn't she?"
I didn't speak, keeping my eyes on Andrew as he joined Caleb, Austin, Jon Ming and the twins who were calling my name for me to take pictures. Sam kept talking. "She's not going to tell him, is she?"
I moved my gaze to Sam's piercing one. "I don't know." I admitted before giving him a smile. "Go, go pose with your friends you model."
Sam gave me a look that claimed that he didn't want to do that and I reached up, pulling him closer to me when I fought against my mind and decided to do something. "I'm only going to say this once and you will probably never hear this from my mouth again. Probably."
"What?" he asked confused.
"I'm trying to avoid a situation that does not involve me. It involves my two best friends and I really hope something good comes out of it but considering what happened I doubt it. Now I'm only going to say this once, you ready?"
Sam blinked, taking in what I had said really fast before nodding quickly. "What is it?"
"I can't believe I'm saying this but you look...really hot right now." I told him, the words sounding weird coming out of my mouth but it felt good to give Sam a well deserved compliment because it was the truth.
"I look what?"
"You-nuh-uh I'm not saying that again." I said when that smirk came to my face.
"I look hot," He asked, pulling me in closer and his lips finding their way to my neck. "Did my girlfriend, Hazel, the love of my life, Macy Anderson, just say that?" He teased and I could feel the graze of his teeth in the space between my neck and shoulder.
"And not even just hot. She said really hot. I don't think I'm in the right world where my girlfriend just said that and looks as beautiful as she does every day. I think I'm dreaming. I don't want to wake up. Or maybe I'm in heaven." He breathed out and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Lovebirds separate would you? We need a picture." Austin yelled.
I rolled my eyes, Sam slipping his arms off me and he jogged off to join them in the corridor where a white grand piano had been rolled in near the entrance of the grand house. I took picture after picture of the boys. A serious one where Caleb definitely looked constipated.
No, there were way too many pictures where they tried looking like serious, well dressed men and only ended up laughing.
Then there was the couple pictures I had to take alongside the professional photographer. I found it funny how Natasha and Ivan could've just hired another photographer but asked me to do it as well.
"Give me the camera." Stevie asked when she kept telling me to take a picture with Sam.
I gave it to her and stood alongside him, his arm around my waist. "Still think I'm really hot right?"
I rolled my eyes at him but smiled. He was never going to let that go.
When that set of pictures were over and I was done talking to some people I had gone over to Jasmine whose eyes were on Andrew who was talking to one of Ivan's friends.
"You good?" I asked her.
"Yeah," She almost whispered, shooting me a small smile.
"You are going to tell him right?"
She didn't say anything for a second, her eyes still on him before she shifted her gaze onto me. "Yeah. I will."
I didn't have the time to respond when I felt someone tap me on the shoulder. I quickly turned and gasped. "Oh my God Drake."
He laughed and I hugged him less gracefully, probably squeezing too hard. "Yeah, yeah, it's been a while. I missed you too."
He glanced at Jasmine who wasn't looking at him, his eyebrows furrowing. "You okay?"
"Yeah," she quickly said, moving her perspective onto her brother. "Yeah I'm fine." Her voice sounded a little bit too uplifting for one's liking.
I held back a sigh as Drake looked at her weirdly. "Okay...you just look a little bit awkward and out of place."
Jasmine put on a smile. "Trust me I am definitely not feeling out of place."
Drake looked at her with narrow eyes. "I'll see you both later. You and I are going to talk later."
Jasmine let out a long breath as Drake left through the front door, probably going to the back where the wedding would be held in a couple of moments.
I could hear the wedding planner yell for everyone to move to the back and I gently squeezed Jasmine's arm to get her attention. We moved to the back to get into our places and I stood behind Jon Ming and one of Natasha's cousins, hearing him shamelessly flirt with her.
I'm slowly taking back what I said about him changing when we came back.
Speaking of we, Sam took his place beside me and glanced at me. "What?"
"Nothing."
"It's because I'm hot right? That's why you're staring at me? Shit, I really wish I could've recorded that."
"Shut up," I told him and he cracked a smile. "I'm never giving you a compliment ever again."
"That's okay, I know you give me compliments in your mind anyway."
"Who says I do?"
"I just know it. You get this look on your face when you see me and-"
"She gets all hot and bothered at the sight of you and wants to possibly jump your bones?" Caleb asked. I gave Caleb a dry look as he grinned at me then walked away to his own partner near the front.
"You do. You probably do." Sam said beside me and I nudged him with my elbow.
"Keep dreaming."
"Keep lying to yourself." He said smugly then looked down at my shoes. "How come all the girls here are over three inches taller than they usually are and I'm still taller than you?"
"Maybe because I had to negotiate with Liz and Natasha over the phone one day and make them give me a longer dress that just so happened to cover the shoes that I'm wearing."
"Let me guess," He looked down at my feet and I gave him a grin, lifting my dress up a bit to show my shoes. "Of course. Jordans."
"The one and only." I told him, putting my hand on the crook of his elbow.
"I'm pretty sure my mother might have a meltdown right now. You with your Jordans and me with my Converse."
"At least you're not walking with sweats." Stevie said in front of us and I laughed, wishing I was.
"Mum would've killed us if we did." Sam mumbled, putting his hand over mind that was on his elbow.
The wedding planner gestured for us to go once Stevie and Cedric went and we started walking, out of the house and along the path. I shivered immediately when the cool breeze hit me and Sam chuckled. "Cold."
"No just shivering for no reason, you know?" I told him sarcastically.
"Wait...it's today right?" He asked me, looking a little skeptical.
"What's today?" I muttered, holding onto his arm tighter as we continued to walk, watching the cameraman, follow us a little bit before moving on.
"Japan. You're on your japan." He said, shooting me a look.
"Yeah like an hour ago." I grumbled, already feeling the discomfort.
"Do you feel like you're dying yet?" He asked, rubbing my hand that was on his elbow.
"I love how we're talking about my period when you're brother is about to get married."
"Are you okay though?" He asked me, concerned again for the second time today.
"I'm okay Sam, don't worry." I sighed.
He flashed me a small smile and I could see that there was also something wrong with him. "You okay?" I asked him.
"My grandfather couldn't make it here today. He has health problems so he couldn't be here."
I didn't know that. Sam rarely spoke of his grandfather but I knew he was close to him and I knew he lived in one of their houses in England and Sam had went to visit him once or twice but I never went along because I figured that that would be personal time between him and his grandfather.
"I'm sure he wanted to be here."
"He did," Sam chuckled. "He wanted to be here badly which is strange because he and my dad have the worst relationship in the entire world. Worse than my dad and I had. I promised him this morning I would send him the video after tonight though."
Our path led to where all the people were, sitting and watching us go by. I looked at the large audience of people in the chairs, spotting my father's face near the middle with Justin on his other side. I could see him talking to a woman who looked strangely familiar but I didn't think about it when I looked at Ivan who was standing on the step of the gazebo.
I've known Ivan for about eight months now and have learned way too much from the guy from his fiancée and personal experiences to know he doesn't get nervous. He's like Sam, just more of the guy that understands that he's good looking and his probably used it to his advantage in the past. But now...I think I could see the sweat breaking on his forehead.
"Holy...shit. I never thought I'd see the day my brother looks like he's going to piss in his pants." Sam said, his eyes trained on Ivan.
"Yeah." I agreed, moving my eyes past Ivan to look at Liz and Vince in the first row. Vince gave me a nod with a small smile and I think Liz was close to tears too, seeing one of her children getting married must've affected her.
Sam and I split ways and I stood beside Stevie, my hand on the camera around my neck. I watched the flower girl walk down and sprinkle the petals really happily down the aisle, making me grin.
I looked over at Sam who was watching the little one with amusement because instead going to sit down beside her parents, one of Natasha's many uncles and aunts, she walked over to him to hug him by the leg.
I think the crowd broke out into small laughter at that and he only smiled down at her, gesturing for her to go sit down next to her parents to which she compiled to. He looked up at me and winked before the sound of the wedding march came from the orchestra by the side, led by the teenage boy sitting down at the piano.
I immediately broke away from the bridesmaids, taking my place and holding my camera up, ready to take pictures of Natasha as she came into view.
I smiled at my friend as she walked down the aisle with holding her father's arm and her maid of honor, her best friend Kayla holding the train of her dress. The crowd rose to their feet and I watched Liz put a hand to her mouth, taking a picture of her and her husband for a second before turning back to Natasha.
She looked beautiful. Her dress. Her hair. Herself. Everything. I swear she was glowing.
I took multiple photos of her as her eyes were locked on Ivan's. When I had turned to take pictures of Ivan, he was staring right back at her but what he was doing made me almost drop my camera.
Ivanovo Cahill was crying.
That was the most unexpected thing to see. The tears on his cheeks seemed to continue streaming one after another.
By the time Natasha's dad had handed her over to Ivan he was laughing and smiling at her through the tears and I took multiple pictures of them through it all along with the other photographer.
I had stood back to my original spot while the cameraman had came forward to record the vows being taken.
Ivan had to stop from being his dirty self and I could easily tell from my view that he struggling to say certain things in his mind about the two but held it back. "Natasha I've loved you for the longest time. And I'm grateful that I've had the chance to call you that girl next door every summer, than to calling you my friend, then my girlfriend then my fiancée and after today my wife because I don't want to spend another second of my life without you in it. I love you so much."
Natasha was crying so much at that point, Ivan was laughing quietly, trying to wipe the tears from her face but she couldn't stop crying and smiling even when she was trying to get to her own vows.
The rings were exchanged in which I took pictures of, especially when I saw Ivan do a silent 'yes' under his breath and Natasha laugh, gripping his hands in hers. I think everyone forgot how cold it was outside because honestly I don't think I've seen anything better than one of my friends getting married to the love her life and being so happy.
"Do you Ivanovo Peter Cahill take-" The minister stopped and I looked over at the groomsmen over my camera, watching Sam and his brothers struggle and fail to hold their laugh. Idiots.
Not really understanding where Ivan's name actually came from, I bit back a smile taking pictures of them as well.
I heard Ivan say to Natasha, loud enough for the crowd to hear. "You promised to never leave me because of my name right?"
By now I started laughing along with everyone else at that and Natasha who was crying from all that was happening again, laughed through it, nodding."I promised."
"Okay," Ivan exhaled dramatically turning back to the minister. "You can continue."
"Do you, Ivanovo Peter Cahill, take Natasha Miller to be your wife?"
"I do." He beamed.
"Do you, Natasha Miller, take Ivanovo Cahill to be your husband?"
"I do." She said.
"Then with further ado, I now pronounce you husband and wife, "the minister had his hands out. "You may now kiss the bride."
Then Ivan took Natasha in his arms and kissed her and because it was Ivan, he proceeded to dip her. I took pictures of the at least minute long kiss, not helping the roll of my eyes when I heard the groomsmen yelling and I'm pretty sure I heard a whistle come from either Jon Ming or Caleb.
When they broke apart, I couldn't stop the smile that came to my face at the two.
"Well, well, well," A voice said. "Ivan Cahill finally settled down. Shocker."
I didn't even look over to where the voice was coming from. My first instinct was Sam and I quickly looked at him. He was tense. He didn't move his eyes from the ground but I knew he could hear the person loud and clear. The way his fists clenched let me know that he was alert.
No one else was saying a word besides the man that continued talking. "What? The great Samuel Cahill isn't going to say hi to his old friend?"
"Fuck." I heard Caleb whisper unintentionally loud enough for me to hear and for me to know trouble was about to happen.
That's when Sam raised his head and I finally looked over at the man who was in between the aisles.
His hair was a messy dark brown color and his eyes were brown too. He wore a suit as if he was really invited to the event but it was messed up as if he had ran all the way over here; tie around his neck, tux jacket almost hanging off of his shoulders. He looked unkempt.
Vincent Cahill stood up from his seat, facing the guy. "Young man-"
"Oh quiet down old man Cahill," The guy sneered. "I can't be here to see an old friend of mine and wish his brother a happy wedding. You've got yourself a keeper Ivan hope you won't get bored." He laughed at the end of his sentence, playing with one of his sleeves.
That's when Sam moved and I almost-almost- reached out for him to not do anything. He walked past his father and I watched him stand at least a meter away from the guy. "What are you doing here?"
"That's not a way to greet an-"
"I'm not your friend. I was never your friend, Anthony."
And that's when I realized who this guy was.
Anthony.
Sam's spoken of him a couple of times to me but mostly when we had first met. Anthony was Sam's biggest influence when his sister had died. He was one who showed him methods of trying to forget things and I knew Sam didn't want anything to do with him or that part of his life anymore but for some reasons like what had happened at the Halloween party. His problems just kept showing up.
"C'mon man, I was your friend. Remember the good old days when we went to party after party. Getting so wasted and so high and so fucked over? Remember you telling me all the shit that happened man. The shit with your dad and your sister."
"Don't you dare talk about my sister."
"Why not? You're not going to share anything with me anymore? That's what friends do Sam. We tell each other things," Anthony's eyes moved over and locked at me. I almost shivered with disgust. "And from what I hear you finally found a girlfriend. Macy isn't it?"
"Don't say her name."
"Why not? You found someone that will put up with all your shit? Someone who's apparently changed you? Or did she stay by your side as you did the drugs and drank the alcohol and found a new girl every night-"
"I was sixteen," Sam interrupted. "I didn't know any better but I do now. What I'm highly suggesting is that you leave before I do something I will regret."
"Like what? You're going to fight me? That's fine, friends fight all the time."
"We're not friends." Sam said blankly.
"Oh but Bethany and I would've been great friends, don't you think? Or maybe we already knew each other."
"What?" Sam stilled.
Phillip had found his way beside me and was pulling on my hand. "Who is he?"
I was about to quiet him down when Anthony had moved his gaze over to Phillip, ignoring Sam's question. "Is that Phillip? Damn, haven't seen you in a long time kid but then again Sam never really let me around you. Wonder why."
"Why would I ever let Phillip around you of all people?" Sam said lowly.
"Like I said, I wonder why," Anthony shrugged and his presence didn't make anyone do anything, instead everyone just watched and listened for what he would do next. "But what about Beth? Beautiful Bethany, that's what some people called her."
"Stop talking about her." Sam said and I could see his fists get tighter and he was trying to control himself.
"C'mon, Sammy. We're friends. We tell each other things. Now let me tell you some things about your sister. You probably think she was so innocent, leaving this shitty town at 15 and going back to her hometown only to-"
"Don't." Sam stepped forward and he was taking deep breaths by now.
"I'm sorry are you still feeling vulnerable about it? That she's gone," He taunted, a wicked gleam in his eyes and he took something out of his pocket. A blunt. "I met her you know? I did meet her. I've heard about her back in the ninth grade. Before I met you of course. She went to Hamilton Academy of the Arts. She was known by everyone in town. Hell, c'mon she was known by people in the world. The only daughter of the multi-billionaire and designer super model. She was beautiful. Fuck, she was beautiful."
Sam stepped even closer to Anthony and he was getting angrier by the second and everyone around me knew it too. Cedric and Toby walked forward at the exact same time, grabbing Sam by the arms so that he wouldn't attack.
Anthony chuckled despite the situation and pulled out a lighter, flicking it on and watching the ember dance before he shut it off. "Control your wrath Samuel. I always knew you had an anger problem. Anyway, I met Bethany when she was with her friends and well my best friend has always been this," He holds the blunt up, smiling at it as if it was his pride and joy. "She figured that out and ended up blowing me off. She didn't even get to know my charming personality. Let's just say that after that day I figured that she may have been one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen in my life but frankly she was a bitch."
That's when all hell broke loose.
Sam got out of Toby and Cedric's grasp and he launched at Anthony, and they both fell to the ground. It was a tumble of twist and turns I watched as Ivan's eyes widened and he put Natasha behind him, hiding her away from the scene that was ruining her wedding.
People got up from the sides and moved away from the scene. I watched as Toby, Cedric and Vince tried getting Sam off of Anthony who was fighting back with a vengeance but had no such luck.
My hand flew over my mouth when Sam landed a punch on Anthony's face. You would think the man would fight back but all he did was laugh and I could see blood on the corner of his mouth as he started yelling. "You think you're so strong Sam?"
"Shut up." Sam shouted in anger and Anthony managed to get on top of Sam, pining his arms to the ground.
"Look at you, you're struggling. You think you're so strong, so perfect. I see it-in the way you smile in those stupid modeling shit you do and that interview. You're none of those things."
"Shut up!" Sam repeated, managing to swing another punch on Anthony's face and Anthony fell onto his back, Sam gaining advantage over him.
Anthony laughed. "Look at you. Angry. She died. It seemed like you did finally move on but I knew you wouldn't be over it. Because you're vulnerable. You're weak."
That's when Sam's anger cracked and he looked like Anthony had finally gotten through to him. I tried rushing over to him but the security Vince had already called were already pulling Sam away from Anthony. They dragged Anthony up and held him tightly making sure he wouldn't escape.
Anthony laughed loudly as they started to take him away. It was a cackle. "Bye Sammy, hope to see you soon!"
Sam wiped the blood underneath his mouth harshly as Anthony disappeared. He was breathing heavily and everyone was staring at him, the gates as they closed or the drops of blood in the middle of it all.
Vince was the first person to move, walking toward his son. "Samuel-"
Sam turned around to face him and that's when I got a clear look of his face. He looked hurt. He looked as if his biggest secret had just been exposed and he couldn't handle everyone knowing. "I-"
That's when his gaze shifted to me and he looked disappointed. But I knew he wasn't disappointed in me but in himself. For having his anger take over him. For letting Anthony get to him.
He knew that his anger made him lash out. I remember that night in my mom's bedroom months ago in Redmond. I had forgiven him even when he had gotten into a fight with Drake.
If there was something that had scared me back then it was definitely Sam getting into a physical fight with someone. He turns into a completely different person and I although I haven't seen him fight someone in over half a year, I was surprised he was able to be controlled and not inflict further damage.
He bowed his head for a second before lifting it up to face me before sprinting away past the garden and open space of a backyard, through the trees and towards the forest.
I stepped forward to go after him at the same time as Caleb but Toby stopped us. "Let him breathe."
I nodded but the commotion wasn't over. Between everyone chattering and some in distress, I didn't notice something else happening.
"Lucas." I heard Sydney whispered in shock, rushing over to him.
He was sitting down on the make shift steps, a hand to his chest. His face was red and he looked as if struggling to breathe. He was struggling to breathe. "Oh my God."
Caleb's rushed over along with the rest of the Cahill family. "What's going on?"
Joey quickly assessed his brother. "He's having an asthma attack."
"He needs his inhaler."Greg pointed out.
"I-I don't know where it is." Joey admitted. "He hasn't needed it over the years."
"We'll try to find it if it's still inside." Greg ran inside the house, Christian and Cedric following along with them.
Sydney, who was watching Lucas and holding his hands as if it would help, shot up. Without telling anyone what was happening she quickly ran and disappeared through the back doors.
"Lucas," Joey kneeled down in front of him. "C'mon buddy I need you to breathe for me."
Liz and Vince were calling 911 and Toby was telling the rest of us to back up and give Lucas space except for Joey who was trying to talk to his twin.
"I'm here for you but I need you to calm down. You know you need to calm down. Clear your mind."
Lucas' eyes shifted over to his brother and under his glasses, his eyes looked frantic as he tried to gasp squeeze air through his lungs.
Joey took off Lucas' his glasses and sat in front of his twin. "C'mon L, it's me Joey. It's me. Breathe. You can do it. Relax."
Lucas looked as if he was relaxing when not even a second later, Sydney came rushing down those steps, an inhaler in her hand. "I got it, I got it."
She quickly ran over to Lucas, Joey moving to the other side of him as Sydney grabbed Lucas' hand, pressing the inhaler in it. His eyes shifted over to hers and he raised the inhaler, putting it inside his mouth and pressing the button down.
I heard the faint suck of air and an exhale and could feel everyone around me-including myself relax when Lucas started breathing normally again.
"Oh my God." He whispered loud enough for us to hear before leaning his head against Sydney's shoulder.
Cedric ran out of the house and looked over at us crowded around Lucas, sighing with relief. "Thank God you're okay. Why did this happen? You haven't had an asthma attack since you were seven."
Lucas opened his mouth to speak but his mom silenced him with a hand. "Do not say a word. We're going to make sure you're okay in a second."
Lucas nodded, dropping the inhaler on the ground as Joey took a seat next to him, shooting him a small smile and handing him his glasses for him to put on. "It wasn't pollen or dirt or the air right?"
Lucas shook his head and Joey nodded in understanding. "It was a trigger. Overwhelmed. Probably stress or who was mentioned." He whispered that last part and I looked over at the rest of the family already knowing their faces.
Vince cleared his throat. "Lucas go inside, someone will check on you possibly the paramedics when they get here."
Lucas nodded, standing up slowly and with Sydney's hand in his own, he pulled her along as they went inside the house.
Everyone seemed to calm down a little and Liz sighed, moving over to Natasha and Ivan, whispering a couple of words to them before saying something to the minister.
The minister cleared his throat, still-like many of the other people- looking traumatized. "Once again, the new Mr. and Mrs. Cahill."
Everyone applauded and Ivan put an arm around Natasha's waist as they walked down the aisle towards the inside of the house. Eventually everyone started to go inside.
Out of all the people that were left, it was Toby, Austin, Andrew, Phillip, Christian and Stevie.
"Damn." Austin muttered as the last of people went inside the house.
"Yeah." Toby muttered before looking over at me. "Give Sam ten minutes at least not a minute more and if he isn't back in the house by then you go after him okay?"
"Okay." I responded, my eyes trailing over to the path Sam had ran off to, towards the pool house.
"He'll be alright." Stevie assured me as Phillip held onto my hand. "Let's go inside."
Toby grabbed Phillip, letting him climb onto his back as they left, leaving Andrew and I behind and I felt the guilt surge up in my throat at the new knowledge I found out this morning.
"You okay," My best friend asked me, tilting his head. "I mean I get all that happened but you're looking a little pale."
I nodded. "Yeah, there was just a lot to take in today."
He lent me his arm and I hooked mine through his as we made our way inside, my head glancing at the trees and my mind wondering how Sam was but I took Toby's advice and waited ten minutes. Not a minute or a second more.
