Introduction

Folklores are the treasure of moments and memories. It's also culture and its soulfulness represents the wonders of the world and its aesthetics. 'Halloween' or else 'Bhoot Chaturdarshi' is a plethora of stories that had been celebrated over years. Perhaps, the 'real' horror may come, not only within the minds of the people but also the horrors they've faced within the supernatural. As stated in Shakespeare's greatest play, 'Hamlet', he said 'There are more things in heaven and earth, my dear Horatio, are dreamt of your philosophy'. We all faced more than something natural that, no one would understand at some point.

6 by 9 might look like a fractional number but as stated in the context, the number 'six' has always been a called a Mephistopheles's downfall to his arrogance and devilry, whereas 'nine' represents an angel's rise to a greater good. Stories are not only stories but an equation to real-life cycle. The name of the village is 'Meghpur'. It was once called a valley of peace and harmony, but now, one of the most haunted place- full of superstition and calamity that would have never imagined. It is misty at night, but clear by day. 'Megh' literally means cloud, 'pur' injects to a place which might be complete or else, something more than that-maybe a tale, a myth or a fact.

However, there are so many characters in this village, but we might focus on the few who have contributed or helped the incident to grow as they could. At first, I would like to share a bit of an origin of how it became the haunted village, till today. There are various versions of the story but before that, let me introduce you their culture. As the important part of its story is its history and heritage, it might be dive into the course of the narrative I may write into.

'Meghpur', was once known as 'Surjopara', which means the 'sunny neighborhood'. The people used to work happily, merrily and firmly. Until, demons terrorized the villagers in a manner that they switch off the lights at six o'clock, except for the holy places and the village's chairperson. Farms became draughts, people turned skeptical, love transferred to hatred and peace broke into chaos.

According to the legends, there was a woman named Sultana was such a beautiful lady that, men had fallen for her. Until, one of them who was just an ordinary accountant named Azad working under the village chief. Azad not only fell for her attractiveness, but also for kindness. But his death led to a dangerous result. What was the reason? Why and how? It's been unclear but turned something more than what has been predicted all these years.

Years passed but the legend became a loop like a pandemic. However, let me present certain characters in this story. Khalil Miyah-the village chief whose grandeur and kindness became an inspiration to the public, whereas he has a personal suspicion towards the ghosts. On the other hand, Arshad-an innocent, overly-enthusiastic farmer who was curious of the 'outer-world'. Arshi- a fierce lady officer who investigated crimes under Khalil's orders-only to know the real motive behind the demon's terror. Ama Didi—an old lady sitting in the window who was waiting for a myth to become a reality. Lastly, Waheed- a journalist who hasn't been heard for a while due to an unexpected 'crash' on his life.

Folktale is more than a fantasy between realities, because past can be recorded but not the present, nor the future. Well, there are so many secrets to be shared upon but not all of it. Until or unless, it's necessary.
