The boss - Calum (part 3)

I sighed as I sat back down at my desk.

"So, what did Mr Hood want?" Cassie asked.

"He wants to promote me to his personal assistant." I sighed, looking at her. Her eyes widened.

"Oh my god, congrats honey! That's massive, when do you start?!" she squealed.

"I turned it down." I admitted.

"You've not even been here for a week and you're already getting-wait, what?" she scoffed.

"I said no." I reiterated.

"Are you crazy?! Why did you say no?" she scoffed.

"It was weird. Firstly, he told me that I could call him Calum and then he pretty much promoted me on the spot. Don't you think that that's weird?" I asked.

"Not really. What did he say about his old assistant?" Cassie asked.

"He said that she's moving on, whatever that means." I shrugged.

"That makes sense." She nodded.

"What does?" I asked.

"They were dating and they broke up, like, a month ago, so that's probably why he's asking you to be his assistant, because he wants to date you." She shrugged. My eyes widened.

"He wants to date me?! I'm not ready for that! I ended a relationship by getting this job, I'm not ready to have another one, especially not with my boss." I scoffed.

"You have to admit that you do want to date him, though." She smirked.

"No, just because he's totally ripped and so kind and really attractive and those eyes are to die for, and his tattoos are amazing-." I stopped as I saw Cassie smirking at me.

"Okay, so maybe I have a small crush on my boss." I admitted.

"Which you should totally pursue! He obviously likes you too, you could end up sleeping with THE Calum Hood, you really want to throw away that opportunity?" she laughed. I sighed.

"God, Cassie, why am I letting you get into my head?" I chuckled.

"That means that you're considering taking the job, that's my girl." She smiled before rolling her chair back to her computer.

"How come you're not head over heels for him?" I asked.

"Oh honey, I am, but I'm a loyal girl and my guy put a ring on my finger two years ago." She shrugged before getting back to her work. I sighed as I looked at Mr Hood's office, a part of me secretly hoping that Cassie was right about what Mr Hood thought of me.

"You coming?" Cassie asked as she packed up her bag.

"Nah, I've got to finish this first." I shrugged.

"Don't stay for too long, it's already dark outside." She warned.

"I'll leave before morning." I joked.

"Funny." She chuckled as she walked towards the lift. I sighed as I looked towards the office door. Here goes nothing, I thought as I stood up and knocked on the wood.

"Who is it?" Mr Hood's muffled voice sounded through the door.

"It's Y/N, sir, I was wondering if I could speak with you." I spoke. There was a moment of silence, making the butterflies in my stomach even worse.

"Come in." he said eventually. I opened the door to see him sitting at his desk, reading over paperwork. He looked up at me and smiled.

"What did you want to talk to me about?" he asked. I took a deep breath.

"I'll take the personal assistant job." I spoke. His smile grew into a smirk as he stood from the chair.

"Brilliant. You start tomorrow." He spoke.

"That soon?" I scoffed.

"That soon, sweetheart. Get some rest, you're going to need it." He smirked before winking at me. I gave him a small smile before leaving the office. I grabbed my bag and rushed to the lift. I eventually got out to the ground floor and stepped out.

"Are you the bitch who stole my job?" I turned around to see Mr Hood's ex personal assistant standing there.

"I'm sorry?" I scoffed.

"Calum just gave you my job, correct?" she returned the scoff. I just looked at her.

"Look, please don't take what happened between you and Mr Hood out on me-."

"What the fuck do you know about Calum and I?" she spat.

"I just know that you were seeing each other." I gulped. She chuckled as she stepped closer to me.

"Look, bitch, you've already stolen my job, you better get your eyes off of my boyfriend too, or you're going to have hell to pay." She spat.

"I don't think that you should be threatening me, considering that as of tomorrow, I'll be spending quite a lot of time working directly with Mr Hood, and your threats may just slip my lips." I warned. Her eyes widened.

"Are you threatening me?" she scoffed.

"Don't dish it out if you can't take it." I nodded before walking out of the building.
