You nearly break up

Calum

I put my bags at the bottom of the stairs as I placed my key on the table. Tears left my eyes as I looked around the house, checking that I hadn't forgotten anything. Suddenly, the door opened and Calum walked in. My eyes widened as he spotted the bags and looked at me.

"What's this?" he asked quietly.

"Don't try to stop me." I cried. He looked at me.

"Stop you from what? You're not leaving me...are you?" he choked.

"I'm sorry, Calum. It's too hard. I can't handle you always being away." I cried. He rushed to me and took my face in his hands.

"Y/N, please re-think this." He muttered, making me shake my head.

"No. I'm sorry. I've tried and tried to stay strong, but I can't live without you being here. I'm sorry, Calum." I choked. Calum pressed his lips against mine, which I quickly returned.

"Please, Y/N. I love you. I love you and I can't live without you." He muttered. I sighed.

"I'll find a way, okay? I'll find a way to be closer to you, I'll get an extra week off of tour, or I'll ask for you to come with us, I'll do anything, just...just promise me that you'll stay." He whispered, looking into my eyes.

"You promise that you'll try harder?" I asked.

"I swear on my life." He spoke. I sighed.

"Okay. I'll stay." I nodded. He sighed in relief, kissing me again and picking me up bridal style.

"I love you so much, Y/N." he whispered into my neck.

Luke

I sighed as I walked into the lounge to see Luke on his phone again. Nothing new, I thought as I went to sit next to him.

"So, you know that awards show we're going to next week? I'm thinking about either wearing that skimpy cocktail dress, or my pencil skirt with my crop top, which one?" I asked.

"Sounds good." He muttered, eyes still glued to his phone. Time for a new approach, I thought as I started to kiss his neck, making him back away.

"Y/N, stop, I'm not in the mood." He mumbled. I sighed, standing up.

"You're never in the mood." I huffed. He looked at me for the first time.

"What's that supposed to mean?" he scoffed.

"You haven't paid attention to me in god knows how long and that's just for starters." I spoke.

"If you wanted sex, you could have just asked." He smirked. I scoffed at him.

"I don't just mean sex and you know it." I spat, making him sigh.

"Luke, listen to me. If we don't work out whatever is happening right now, I'm leaving you." I nodded. His eyes widened.

"What? What's happening right now?" he choked.

"You act as if I'm not here anymore. You act as if you're not in a relationship anymore, fuck, some of the fans think that we broke up because of how distant you've been. I can't do it anymore." I sighed. He rushed to me and kissed me passionately.

"Baby, please don't leave me." He whispered.

"I'm giving you one more chance, Luke. If you don't stop this, I'm done. I'm done and that's a promise." I nodded, making him return it.

"Okay. But don't worry, babe, I'll do everything in my power to keep you, because I love you, and I'm so sorry." He muttered, kissing me again.

Michael

"What the fuck is this?" Michael spat as he stormed into the room. I rose from the bed.

"What the fuck is what?" I asked.

"Dammit, Y/N, don't pretend that you don't know!" he shouted, making me flinch at the volume.

"Michael, what the hell are you talking about?" I questioned. He threw a magazine at my feet. I looked at him before picking up the magazine. On the front page in big letters was: "Michael Clifford's girlfriend seen with other guy. Who is this mystery man, and is he Clifford's competition?" along with a picture of me walking into a cafe with the "other guy". I looked back at Michael.

"Who is he?" he muttered quietly. I scoffed at him.

"Michael, are you serious-."

"WHO IS HE?!" he screamed.

"He's my cousin, Michael!" I yelled back. Michael's face lost its colour immediately as he gulped hard.

"You're unbelievable. He's my cousin. You were on tour, I was lonely, he was in town, so I asked if he wanted to grab a coffee and catch up on the last five years since we've seen each other." I explained, throwing the magazine away.

"I'm so sorry." He spoke, rushing to me and hugging me.

"I can't believe that you thought I would cheat on you." I whispered, a tear falling from my eye. He wiped it away.

"I knew that you wouldn't, and I was desperately hoping that it wasn't true, but...I don't know, I'm so sorry." He choked before kissing me.

"Just please trust me." I spoke.

"I do, I promise. I love you." He nodded before kissing me again.

Ashton

"I cannot believe you." I spat as we walked into the house. Ashton slammed the door shut behind him.

"What did you expect me to do?!" he shouted back.

"Those fans could have ripped me apart! If looks could kill, I would be dead, and where were you?! Doing god knows what with the fans and the boys!" I yelled.

"Y/N, they're our fans, I need to talk to them!" he retaliated.

"That's fine, Ashton! But it's when you're letting them bully me at every chance they get, and not batting an eyelid!" I screamed.

"Oh, come on, that's an over-exaggeration, they hardly bully you." He scoffed.

"Oh, you've seen the tweets and messages, have you?" I spat. He sighed at me.

"Is this true?" he asked.

"Of course! I wouldn't lie about that." I choked. He walked up to me and took my hands in his.

"I'm sorry. I'll do something about them if you want. You okay?" he asked, making me sigh.

"I don't know." I muttered.

"I'm sorry. I love you." He sighed before kissing me.

Calum

Tears rolled down my cheeks as Calum packed the last of his stuff into the cardboard box before taping it shut. He stood up straight and looked around.

"Have I forgotten anything?" he asked.

"I, um, I don't think so." I mumbled, shaking my head. He looked at me and sighed.

"I don't want to do this either, for the record." He muttered, looking at me. I shrugged.

"We tried it, it didn't work out. That's just how the story goes sometimes." I gulped. He sighed and nodded.

"True that." He mumbled before looking at my hand. I looked down and gulped at the engagement ring that Calum had given me three months ago, promising us a life together that we weren't going to have.

"I can't bring myself to take it off yet." I choked.

"Then, don't." he spoke. I looked at him.

"Calum-."

"It's fine, I don't mind. Keep it. Please." He nodded, looking at me with glassy eyes. I returned it and looked down, fiddling with the ring for a moment longer before dropping my hand.

"I guess I'll see you around." Calum mumbled as he grabbed the box and headed out into the pouring rain. I followed him out, standing under the porch's roof as I watched him put the box into the car, the rain soaking him through as he climbed into the car and shut the door. I closed my eyes and looked down, tears leaving my eyes as he started the car and moved it off of the driveway. I looked in the house, not used to it being so empty. I hated it. My eyes widened slightly as I looked back at Calum's car that was moving slowly but surely further away from the house.

"I have to stop him." I whispered before starting to run into the road.

"Calum!" I screamed, running as fast as I could to catch up. My eyes widened and I stopped in my tracks as the car stopped and Calum got out. He looked at me.

"What are you doing, Y/N?" he yelled, his brown fringe sticking to his forehead because of the rain.

"I don't want you to go." I admitted, tears leaving my eyes. Calum looked at me with sad eyes as he walked towards me.

"But, you said-."

"I know what I said. And most of it, if not all, I regret. I can't live without you, and I don't want to. Please, let's plan this fucking wedding, let's plan the life that you promised us when you proposed. Because I want to do it all with you." I cried, my body starting to shiver at the coldness of the rain. Calum gave me a small smile as he rushed towards me. He took my face in his hands and smashed our lips together. I returned it, holding his face as his arms wrapped around my body and he picked me up slightly. He broke the kiss and looked up at me.

"I love you. So much. I can't live without you." He whispered.

"Good. Because neither can I." I admitted. He smiled and kissed me again before picking me up bridal style and carrying me towards the house.

Luke

"I'm done." I choked as I stormed through the apartment, shoving random bits of my stuff into my handbag.

"Y/N, please, stop." Luke begged as he followed behind me.

"Why should I? I told you that this would fucking happen if you continued to ignore me, I told you that I would leave." I cried.

"I know you did, and I honestly tried so hard, that's why I flew back every weekend, that's why I offered for you to move out to LA with me whilst we record the new album, that was me trying, babe." He choked.

"That's not what I'm talking about! I'm talking about the little things! The fact you haven't properly kissed me in months, the fact we haven't had sex in months, the fact the "goodnight" and "good morning" texts were too much fucking effort for you to send to me, to make sure that I knew I was still loved!" I yelled.

"Please lower your voice, if the neighbours hear, they'll call the police." Luke spat.

"Let them fucking hear! Then they'll know how much of a shitty boyfriend you are!" I screamed. Luke choked and his face softened at my hurtful words.

"Is that really what you think of me?" he choked quietly.

"No, of course not, I didn't mean that, I...I have to go." I cried as I opened the door.

"No, please." Luke rushed to me and leant his arm over me, shutting the door. I closed my eyes and looked down, tears leaving my eyes as I could feel Luke's chest pressed against my back. We hadn't been this close in a long time.

"I'm sorry. I know that I need to make more of an effort to make you feel loved, and that starts right now, I swear to god. Just, please. Don't leave." He choked, resting his head against the back of my neck and making more tears fall from my eyes.

"Luke, I can't stay in a relationship where I'm not loved. So, if I'm going to stay, I need to know that you will love me, like I love you." I mumbled. He nodded against my neck and put his other hand on the door, trapping me in between his body and the wood.

"I swear to fucking god, I will do anything. I love you so, so much, and I'll show that. I'll do anything to make you stay, babe." He whispered. I sighed and nodded before turning around to look at him. I looked up at him through glassy eyes, his own stunningly blue orbs wet from crying.

"Okay. I'll stay." I nodded. Luke choked and tightly wrapped his arms around me, lifting me up slightly as I tightly wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face in the nape of it.

"You'll never feel unloved again, baby girl. I promise." He nodded before kissing me passionately.

Michael

I sat on the sofa, tears running down my face as my pen hovered over the "sign" line on the divorce papers. I looked at my left hand and choked as I stared at my rings. One had been given when Michael said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, the other when he promised himself to me and no other woman. More tears left my eyes as I looked at the papers again. I lowered the pen with shaking hands and began to sign. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. I sighed and dropped the pen before walking to the door, wiping my eyes as I went. I opened the door and my eyes widened.

"Michael." I choked, tears pricking my eyes at the sight of my soon-to-be-ex-husband standing at my door.

"Have you signed the papers yet?" he gulped. I looked down.

"I was in the process of it, they'll be ready soon-."

"Don't sign them." He cut in. I looked at him.

"What?" I choked. He sighed.

"Can I come in?" he asked.

"Yeah, um, of course." I nodded, standing aside and letting him in. I followed him through to the living room.

"Michael, what are you doing here?" I choked.

"I came here to do this." He spoke as he grabbed the divorce papers and starting to rip them up, making my eyes widen.

"What?" I gulped. He sighed and looked at me with tear-filled eyes.

"I knew as soon as I sent those papers to you that I'd made a mistake. The house feels so empty without you there. I turn over in bed every night without fail and go to put my arm around you. I much prefer my arm around your cute little body than against the cold mattress." He chuckled slightly as he walked towards me, making me laugh through the tears.

"I made a big mistake, a huge one. I know that if you take me back, it'll take you a while to forgive me and a while for us to get back to what we used to be, and that's absolutely fine, but I'd rather be working through our problems and maybe having a few nights sleeping with a distance between us, than no longer being married to the love of my life, and the mother of my children." He choked, taking my hands. I looked at him and bit my lip, trying to stop more tears from falling.

"So, what do you say? Are you willing to stay my wife and give us another chance?" he asked quietly. I nodded.

"Yes, Michael, yes, the answer will always be yes." I spoke. He choked before taking my face and passionately kissing me.

Ashton

I walked into the kitchen and my eyebrows furrowed as Ashton sat there, on my phone.

"What are you doing?" I chuckled nervously, making him look at me as he bit into his toast.

"Oh, nothing, just updating myself on the events on the world." He smiled, looking back at my phone.

"Could you not use your phone for that?" I spoke.

"My phone is on charge." He shrugged.

"Sure, it is." I mumbled. He looked at me.

"What's that supposed to mean?" he scoffed.

"I'm just saying, Ash, this is the third time this week that I've caught you on my phone. All I'm saying is that you're starting to appear a little bit controlling." I mumbled. His eyes widened as he stood up.

"What? Where the fuck did you get that from? I've been checking the news each time, it's literally in your search history." He scoffed.

"I'm just saying, I have no way to prove that you're not looking through my texts." I spat.

"Here we go again with the batshit crazy accusations. Do you really think that I trust you so little that I fucking look at your private messages?! What kind of husband does that?!" he snapped.

"You tell me, Ashton! I can't carry on like this. I can't carry on being your wife if I don't know that you trust me!" I yelled back. His eyes widened at my words.

"What are you saying?" he mumbled. I choked and looked down.

"I'm saying that I can't continue like this. Even if you're not looking at my messages, there are still other problems here, and we've been denying them for too long. I don't know if we can make it through this time." I admitted, looking up at him. His eyes wavered as a tear fell from them.

"No. You're wrong. We can work through whatever is happening right now, but first, you have to let me in. We can't fix things if one of us is always closed off." He scoffed, shaking his head. I sighed and looked down.

"I just don't know, Ash." I mumbled quietly. Suddenly, Ashton took my face in his hands.

"If you love me, you'll give us another chance. You'll let us work through whatever is happening. And I'll do anything. I'll try marriage counselling, we can try therapy, fuck, we can even have a baby if that helps fix us." He nodded. I sighed and looked at him.

"I do love you." I whispered.

"So, let us work through this, yeah?" he mumbled, looking into my eyes with his desperate ones. I sighed and nodded.

"Okay." I responded. He sighed in relief before hugging me tightly, making me return it and close my eyes to the sound of his gently beating heart.
