How he is with your young daughter

Calum

Calum and I walked through the park, me pushing Carla's buggy as she waddled next to Calum, her tiny hand in his.

"I want to go see the ducks." She spoke, looking up at Calum.

"Well, we're on our way to see the ducks, sweetie. We'll be there soon." He smiled gently at her.

"Does mummy have the bread?" she asked. Calum looked at me and bit his lip as he smiled.

"Right here, love." I nodded, showing her the loaf of bread that she had insisted on taking with us.

"Daddy, I can't see the pond." She whined.

"How about now?" he asked, picking her up and sitting her on his shoulder as she squealed.

"Yeah! I can see it!" she yelled, pointing ahead.

"You know what daddy can see?" Calum asked.

"Nothing!" she laughed, putting her hands over his eyes.

"No, silly!" he returned her laugh as he moved her hands.

"Daddy can see an ice cream truck." He grinned at me.

"Oh god." I chuckled. He returned it as he walked up to the ice cream truck and took Carla down from his shoulders but still held her up so that she could see the menu.

"What do you want daddy to buy you, sweetheart?" I asked.

"Oh, so I'm paying?" he chuckled.

"You're the one who spotted it." I smiled. He returned it.

"Can I have that?" she asked, pointing to the chocolate swirl ice cream.

"Of course you can, princess." He nodded as he gave the man the money. The man handed Calum the ice cream.

"Daddy, I want to hold it." Carla spoke.

"Are you sure? If daddy is holding it, he makes sure that it doesn't get dropped." He warned.

"I'm sure." She nodded. He sighed before giving it to her. She smiled as she immediately started to lick it.

"I think daddy should get a bite, don't you?" I asked. Carla nodded quickly before moving the ice cream. Calum took a bite.

"Thank you, princess." He smiled before looking at me.

"And thank you for getting me a bit of ice cream." He chuckled, pecking my lips before starting to walk again.

Luke

I opened my eyes slightly but only enough to see the time. 6:00am. I groaned and rolled over so that my head landed against Luke's chest and I curled my arm over his stomach, prompting him to wrap an arm around my waist and pull me closer.

"It's six, babe." He mumbled into my hair.

"No." I groaned.

"You know what's coming." He chuckled, kissing my head.

"Nope. We can fend her off, I beg you, I want to sleep." I whined, making Luke laugh before he looked at the door.

"Three...two...one." The door burst open and Alexa ran in, screaming.

"Mummy, daddy, it's my birthday!" she squealed, tripping up slightly every so often.

"It is!" Luke exclaimed as she climbed up and onto the bed. She nodded as she waddled towards us and took her usual seat on Luke's chest.

"Tell me, my little princess, how old are you today?" he asked, smiling at her.

"Three!" she yelled, holding up three fingers.

"Good girl! You are three today." He chuckled and nodded at her.

"You know, baby, three years ago, your mummy was in labour with you." Luke spoke.

"What does that mean?" she asked.

"It means that mummy was getting ready to bring you into the world." He smiled at her, her giggling back.

"That's right, sweetie, that's what labour is, don't let anyone tell you otherwise until you learn about it in school." I chuckled, sitting up slightly and resting my head against Luke's arm.

"Yes, stick with that meaning for now." Luke laughed.

"I want presents!" Alex squealed.

"Well, your first present is your favourite breakfast, made by daddy, because mummy and daddy also need to eat." He spoke, slowly standing up as he picked Alexa up.

"Yay, pancakes!" she screamed. Luke chuckled and looked at me as he carried her out of our bedroom.

Michael

Lacey lay in my lap, asleep in my arms as the taxi rolled up to the stadium. I looked down at her and moved her slightly.

"Babe." I mumbled. She slowly opened her eyes and her eyebrows furrowed.

"We're here." I smiled. Her eyes lit up and she immediately scrambled up to look out of the window.

"I can see uncle Calum!" she squealed as she opened the door and ran out.

"Uncle Calum!" she yelled.

"Hello, Lacey!" he laughed, picking her up.

"How are you?" he asked.

"Excited!" she squealed.

"I'm sure you are." He laughed before looking at me.

"Hey, Y/N." he smiled, leaning forward and pecking my cheek before putting Lacey down.

"Michael still has no idea, right?" I asked as we walked into the stadium.

"Absolutely not." He shook his head.

Lacey and I stood at the side of the stage, watching the boys perform. The crowd screamed as they finished the song.

"Okay, so, as you know, Michael turns twenty-nine tomorrow." Luke spoke, making the crowd scream and Michael laugh.

"And we have an early birthday present for him." Calum spoke.

"What did you do?" Michael chuckled.

"That's your cue, sweetie." I smiled to Lacey. She returned it as she ran onstage. The crowd screamed and Michael's eyes widened as he saw her.

"Oh my god, Lacey!" he laughed as he immediately picked her up and buried his face in her hair.

"Where's mummy?" he asked. She pointed at me as I walked onstage. Michael's smile widened as he also engulfed me in a hug before kissing me passionately and making the screams of the crowd even louder.

"Happy birthday, Michael!" Ashton smiled.

"I can't believe you're here!" Michael laughed.

"We wouldn't miss it for the world." I smiled. He returned it before hugging us again.

Ashton

I opened the front door and walked in, followed by Ashton carrying Beth, who was asleep on his shoulder. I looked at them and smiled.

"She's completely out, Ash." I whispered. He looked down at her and chuckled.

"Bless her. She's had a long day." He mumbled.

"We all have, which is why we're all going to bed, now." I chuckled. He returned it and nodded before slowly carrying Beth up the stairs. I went into the bathroom and took my earrings out before walking back into the bedroom.

"Ash, what the hell?" I scoffed as I saw him lying down next to Beth in our bed.

"What? I'm putting her to sleep." He shrugged.

"I meant in her own bed, not in ours." I sighed.

"Oh well, she's asleep and I don't want to risk waking her up now." He shrugged, pulling the covers over them.

"You've gotten away with it this time." I chuckled as I climbed in next to them. Ashton wrapped an arm around us and pulled us closer.

"Goodnight, my favourite girls." He whispered.

"Goodnight, Ash, goodnight, Beth." I returned, kissing her head before closing my eyes.

"I don't want you to go away."

"Why not, princess?"

"Because mummy always gets sad when you go away, and that makes me sad, and we both miss you."

"I know, sweetie, but it's daddy's job." I opened my eyes slightly as I heard Ashton and Beth whispering to each other.

"What are you talking about?" I whispered, causing them to look at me.

"The fact that daddy has to go away again tomorrow." Beth mumbled. I sighed and looked at Ashton.

"I know it's hard baby, but I'm here to look after you, and daddy will be back in no time." I promised.

"Why can't we go with him?" she asked.

"Because, sweetheart, you're only three, that's not old enough yet, but wait a few years and you can come." Ashton reassured.

"You promise?" she asked.

"I promise." Ashton nodded before kissing her head.

Calum

I opened my eyes and yawned as I stretched out. I looked at the time. 6:15am. I sighed as Calum's side of the bed was empty but I heard him outside of the bedroom. I got up and opened the door to see him walking the length of the living room, gently cradling a sleeping Lisa as he quietly sang to her.

"She still feeling sick?" I asked, making him look at me. He sighed and nodded.

"Yeah. She's only two, she shouldn't feel this shitty." He mumbled.

"What's wrong with her?" I asked, pressing my hand against her forehead.

"Well, she's been sick twice already this morning, she's sweating buckets and she's coughing her guts up." He sighed. I returned it.

"Oh dear. Looks like flu season has descended on the Hood household. Well, I guess I better call in to say that I need to stay off." I mumbled. Calum looked at me.

"No, I'm doing it." He spoke.

"Why?" I scoffed.

"Babe, you're pregnant, I'm not putting the baby at risk by risking you getting sick. Anyway, today, Ash is laying down the drum beats for the new album, so I don't even need to be in." he shrugged.

"You sure you're okay to stay at home and look after her?" I asked.

"Of course. Anything for my baby girl." He nodded, looking down at her and gently moving a strand of hair out of her face as he cradled her.

"Okay. If you're sure." I sighed.

"I am." He smiled gently before kissing me.

Luke

I sighed as I opened the door and Luke carried Josie in as she kicked and screamed.

"Daddy, let me go!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.

"No, you've been a naughty girl, daddy is taking you to your room." Luke sighed as he carried her through the house.

"No!" she yelled into his ear.

"Jesus." He winced, looking at me. I rolled my eyes at her as I followed Luke through the house.

"Mummy, make daddy let me go!" she screamed.

"No, Josie, you were very naughty today, you're going to spend the rest of the night in your room." I replied. She screamed again as Luke carried her into her room and put her down onto her bed.

"No, daddy!" she screamed as she immediately got up again.

"Josie, I swear to god, I will ground you for a month if you don't stay in your room." He spat. She screamed again, making Luke wince as he left the room and shut the door. He looked at me.

"Jesus Christ." He sighed.

"She's never been that badly behaved before. My god, I think I burst an eardrum." I spoke.

"What's our game plan here?" he asked, leaning against the wall. I shrugged and crossed my arms over my chest.

"You need to discipline her on this one. You're the one who told her to stop and she didn't. I trust you." I nodded. He returned it.

"Okay. No TV for a week?" he asked.

"That's fair." I spoke. He nodded and sighed, pecking my lips before opening Josie's bedroom door and heading back in.

Michael

"She doesn't know I'm here, does she?" Michael asked as we drove to pick Sasha up from nursery.

"No. I told her that you're coming back next week." I smiled. He returned it before placing a hand on my thigh as he drove. Michael parked the car and we climbed out. We walked to where the other parents were waiting. As if on cue, the doors opened and kids came pouring out. Sasha toddled out and her eyes widened as she saw Michael.

"Daddy!" she squealed as she ran to him.

"Hello, my little princess." He smiled, picking her up and kissing her cheek.

"My, you've grown, haven't you?" he chuckled. She nodded and squealed.

"Daddy has a surprise for you." I smiled.

"What is it?" she asked. Michael put her down before getting down on one knee and rolling his sleeve up to reveal his new tattoo.

"What does that say, princess?" he asked. Sasha studied it before her eyes widened and she smiled.

"Sasha, it says Sasha! It's my tattoo!" she squealed.

"Do you like it, babe?" Michael smiled.

"Yes!" she laughed before hugging him tightly. He chuckled as he lifted her up and turned to me.

"Welcome home, babe." I smiled before kissing him.

Ashton

I stood by the backdoor, resting my hands against my pregnant bump as I intently watched Ashton playing in the snow with Louise. I smiled as Louise grabbed a piece of snow in her tiny, glove-clad hand before throwing it into the air and squealing.

"Good girl! That's snow, babe." Ashton smiled as he collected snow in his hand.

"Come here, love." He spoke. She ran over to him. He crouched down beside her and placed the snow into her hand.

"Crunch it together, and then you have a snowball." He instructed, putting his hands over hers and helping her crush it together.

"And then throw it." He spoke, taking her arm and guiding it so that she threw it. She giggled and smiled before running after the snow. Suddenly, she slipped and fell.

"Oh my god." I gasped as Ashton rushed to her.

"You okay, baby girl?" he asked as he picked her up. I sighed as she started to cry and wail.

"Shh, come on, love, daddy will rub it better." He chuckled, gently rubbing the arm that she'd whacked.

"You're okay, baby, you're okay." I nodded. She looked at Ashton and smiled.

"I want to throw another snowball." She laughed. He chuckled and looked at me.

"Okay then." He nodded before putting her down and helping her make another snowball.
