How he is with your teenage daughter

Calum

Calum and I sat on the sofa, watching some crappy night-time TV.

"Where's Olivia?" he asked suddenly.

"In her room, why?" I replied.

"Something's up." He spoke.

"What do you mean?" I questioned.

"I don't know, something just feels different." He sighed. Suddenly, his eyes widened as he shot up from the sofa to reveal Olivia and Luke's son trying to sneak out of the house.

"What the fuck do you two think you're doing?" he scoffed. They just looked at each other.

"We...um...dad, please don't be mad." Olivia gulped.

"Why would I...are you two dating?!" he yelled.

"Yes, uncle Calum, we are." Luke's son answered nervously.

"Does your dad know that you're here?" Calum questioned.

"No, he doesn't." Luke's son gulped.

"Oh, okay, don't worry, I'll save you the trouble of telling him." Calum spat as he got out his phone.

"Okay, babe, calm down." I spoke as I went to stand next to him. He looked at me.

"You're okay with this?" he scoffed.

"Yeah, why not? She's fifteen, she can take care of herself, and he's a nice boy. Anyway, we could all see it from day one, they're a cute couple." I shrugged.

"Thanks, mum." Olivia smiled. Calum sighed.

"Fine, fine. But have her home by nine, and don't try anything." He warned.

"I won't, uncle Calum, thank you." He smiled as they left the house. Calum sighed as I placed my hand on his torso and he wrapped his arm around my waist.

"She's gone." He muttered.

"Don't worry, baby, she'll always be your little girl." I smiled, kissing his jaw.

Luke

"Babe, can you get Beth's washing from her room, please?" I asked.

"Sure." Luke replied as he headed into her room. I sighed as I picked up several pieces of discarded clothing that were just lying around the house.

"Y/N..." Luke spoke slowly.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"What's this?" I looked up to see Luke looking disgusted, holding up one of Beth's bras at arms' length.

"That's a bra, dear, you've taken enough off of me to know what one is." I joked.

"Yeah, but why does my little girl have one?!" he scoffed.

"Because as much as I know that you hate the idea, she's fourteen now, she's a teenager, she needs bras." I chuckled.

"No, she doesn't!" he exclaimed.

"Are you really doing this?" I sighed.

"Just...give me the basket." He squirmed as he threw it into the washing basket.

"If this is how you are with our first daughter, I can't wait to see how you cope with Zoe." I joked.

"Don't you dare!"

Michael

"OH MY GOD, JUST...URGH!" Ellie screamed as I got in the house.

"El, we have neighbours, you know." Michael shouted back.

"DAD, JUST FUCK OFF!" she yelled. I sighed as I saw Michael's eyes widen.

"Right, that's it, young lady! You are grounded! Where is your phone?!" he shouted, standing from the stool. I rushed to him.

"Woah, slow down, what's happening?" I asked.

"Good question." Michael shrugged.

"What?" I asked.

"She came home from school in a foul mood and has been practically screaming the house down ever since." He sighed, rubbing over his stubble.

"You know what's wrong?" I questioned.

"No, that's what kicked everything off. She was yelling at me to "fix it", but wasn't telling me what needed fixing." He explained.

"Right, I'll talk to her." I sighed.

"What makes you think that she'll tell you and not me?" he asked.

"I'm her mum." I nodded. A while later, I came back out of Ellie's room with her.

"El, is there something that you would like to say to your dad?" I asked.

"Sorry." She muttered. I looked at Michael, making him sigh.

"What happened, love?" he asked.

"Sarah and I had a fight, and she got me sent to the headmasters' office." She mumbled.

"Okay. Well, in future, tell me instead of just yelling at me, I'm not a mind reader." He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.

"Whatever." She huffed before going back to her room.

"Leave her." I sighed at Michael, making him return it as he hugged me.

Ashton

"I can't believe you!" Emily yelled as her and Ashton got into the house. I looked up from my phone.

"How many times do I have to say I'm sorry, Em?!" he retaliated.

"I would keep going!" she shouted.

"What's happening?" I cut in.

"Em forget her lunch this morning, so I went to the school to give it to her." Ashton explained. I looked at her.

"So, what's the issue?" I asked.

"Oh, my god, so obviously he didn't realise that he would be recognised, so practically all of the girls in school swarmed him, and asked for autographs and now, all of those people who don't like 5sos are mocking me and saying that my dad is in a gay band." Emily huffed. I sighed.

"Well, as much as it was reckless for your dad to do that, you didn't starve at lunch today, so you should thank him." I spoke.

"Are you seriously siding with him?" she scoffed.

"We're a team, Em, we have to side with each other." Ashton sighed.

"And what about the people mocking me?" she asked.

"I'll email the headmaster and ask for something to be done." Ashton spoke.

"Oh, yeah, because that'll do so much!" she yelled, storming off to her room. Ashton and I sighed as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Hey, honey, how was your day?" he chuckled. I returned it before placing a kiss on his lips.

Calum

Calum and I lay on the sofa, my head rested against his chest. Suddenly, Dove rushed in, crying her eyes out.

"Honey, what happened?" I gasped as Calum and I shot up.

"He ended it with me." She cried. I sighed as I hugged her tightly.

"It's okay, baby, you can do better, it's okay." I cooed, running my hands through her hair. I looked at Calum to see him looking really confused.

"Honey, I want to help you, but first I need to know what's happening." He spoke. I glared at him.

"Her boyfriend broke up with her, Calum." I muttered. His eyes widened.

"Since when do you have a boyfriend?" he scoffed.

"I don't anymore, that's the whole point-."

"Okay, before he broke up with you, how long had you been dating?" Calum interrogated.

"Calum, now is not the time for your over-protective dad shit." I spoke.

"How long, Dove?" he demanded.

"Six months." She mumbled, making his eyes widen again.

"And why wasn't I told?" he scoffed.

"Because you'd hit him with a baseball bat before he even stepped onto the lawn." I said. He cocked his head to the side.

"Okay. I get it." He nodded as he grabbed his jacket and headed for the door.

"Cal, where are you doing?" I asked.

"To beat the shit out of the asshole who broke my little girl's heart." He smirked before walking out of the door.

Luke

I walked along the corridor to Dana's room and looked in. I sighed as I saw Luke sitting on her bed, the back of his hand pressed against her forehead.

"You're burning up, princess." He sighed as he moved his hand. She groaned loudly before spotting me.

"Mum, can you please stay home today to look after me?" she asked.

"Why? Your dad is off anyway, so he can look after you." I shrugged.

"No." she groaned. Luke looked at me before looking back at Dana.

"What's wrong with me looking after you? I've done it several times before, so believe it or not, I am capable of looking after a sick child." He scoffed.

"Yeah, but I'm not a child anymore. I'm fifteen, you probably don't know the first thing about looking after a sick teenager." She grumbled.

"Honey, I think you're forgetting that you're the baby of three kids, I've had my fair share of looking after your sick brothers when they were teenagers." Luke sighed. She groaned and rolled her eyes before turning over and pulling the cover over her head. Luke sighed again and stood up before walking out and shutting the door.

"What do you think it is?" I asked, looking up at him.

"I don't know. Could be the flu, Calum's son caught it and you know how much time those two spend together." He muttered, making me nod.

"Well, at any rate, we'll find out soon, I called the doctor and she's coming over at twelve to check on Dana." He nodded.

"Wow, that's very responsible of you, well done, babe." I chuckled. He rolled his eyes.

"Once again, I've brought up three children, I know what to do when one of them gets sick." He mumbled before walking away.

Michael

"I'm home!" I yelled as I shut the front door and put down my keys.

"Oh my god, look what dad did for me!" Layla squealed as she ran out. I gasped as I saw her. Her once brown hair was now the same colour as Michael's, a dark blue colour.

"Oh my god..." I sighed as Michael came out and smiled.

"Hey, babe, you like it?" he smiled.

"No, I hate it, which is why I said she couldn't do it." I spoke. Michael's eyes widened as he turned to his daughter.

"You said that you had your mum's permission." He scoffed.

"Yeah, I may have lied about that." She chuckled sheepishly.

"No shit, Layla. I wouldn't have let you do it if I knew, let alone helped you-."

"Wait, you helped her dye her hair?" I scoffed at him. His eyes widened.

"Well...yeah...I mean, she's fifteen, she can't do it by herself." He gulped.

"Please tell me that it's not permanent hair dye." I sighed.

"Y/N, I'm not THAT irresponsible." Michael chuckled.

"So, when she asked you, I'm assuming you considered that she goes back to school tomorrow, and there's no way they'll allow that colour?" I asked. He gulped again.

"To be fair, I did imply that I wasn't completely responsible-." I groaned.

"Okay, Layla, we're going to buy hair dye removal right now, and your phone is being taken away for lying to your dad." I decided.

"But mum, that's not-."

"Fair? You should have thought of that before you lied to your dad." I shrugged as I grabbed my keys and opened the door.

"Come on." I spoke. She groaned before walking out of the door. I looked at Michael.

"Try to refrain from dying Piper's hair too while I'm gone." I spoke.

"Love you too, babe." He chuckled.

Ashton

I sighed as I shut the front door and put my keys down.

"I'm home." I spoke as I walked through the house.

"Ashton? Jocelyn? Alfie?" I called out. Ashton came out of the living room.

"Shh, hey babe." He spoke quietly as he pecked my lips.

"Why are you being so quiet?" I asked.

"Jocelyn is asleep." He spoke. My eyes widened.

"Oh, my god, is she okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, why?" he returned.

"She only ever naps if she's ill." I spoke as I rushed into the living room to where she was asleep. I turned to Ashton.

"Why does she look like she's been crying?" I asked.

"Her boyfriend cheated on her today." He sighed. I returned it as I looked at her.

"Oh, god. We're going to need to stock up on ice cream." I spoke as Ashton sat next to her and gently tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.

"Done and dusted. She called me when I was on my way home, so I stopped at the shop and bought, like, five tubs of her favourite Ben&Jerry's ice cream." He spoke, running his hand through her hair and gently stroking her head in an attempt to keep her asleep.

"You know, you're a really good dad. Not just to her, but to Alfie as well." I smiled. He returned it before leaning up and pecking my lips.

"I'm going to stay with her for a bit because stroking her hair seems to keep her asleep, and she can't hurt if she's asleep." He spoke, looking at his daughter. I smiled at his kind words before placing a kiss on his head and leaving the room to check on Alfie.
