Best friend!5sos
Calum
I sat on the sofa, watching a chick-flick as I sniffed. Suddenly, the doorbell rang, making me get up to answer it. Calum stood there and looked at me before sighing. I opened my arms, and he happily walked into them and hugged me.
"He was a jerk, you deserve so much better." He sighed. I nodded as we sat down.
"Okay, so, I brought your favourite magazines, plus Ben and Jerry's, and strawberries." He spoke, taking everything out of his bag.
"You're the best, best friend ever." I chuckled. He laughed slightly.
"Did he tell you why he was ending it?" Calum asked.
"He said that he was sure I was cheating on him." I sighed.
"With who?" he questioned.
"You." I admitted. His eyes widened.
"Did you tell him that you're like a sister to me?" he asked.
"I told him that we were more like siblings than best friends." I nodded.
"And he didn't believe you." He stated.
"No." I sighed.
"Oh dear. Well, you're better off without him." He decided as I lay my head against his chest.
"Can you stay over tonight?" I asked.
"Sure. I think you need someone to cuddle with right now." He sighed.
"Thanks." I spoke.
Luke
I sighed as I sat at my desk, trying to finish my math homework. I turned around to see Luke falling through my window and onto my carpet.
"You know, it's not like you're a banned boyfriend, my parents love you, you could just use the front door." I sighed as he stood up.
"What's the fun in that?" he smirked as he collapsed onto my bed.
"Remind me why we're best friends?" I chuckled.
"Because you love me." Luke stated.
"True." I nodded as I went to sit next to him.
"What did you get for number ten on the math homework?" I asked.
"I haven't done it yet." He spoke.
"Luke, the teacher is going to kill you, it's due tomorrow." I scolded.
"Chill, I can do it in, like, ten minutes, it's fine." He sighed.
"What's number ten then?" I asked again, showing him the sheet.
"Sixty-five." He replied.
"What, how...oh right." I chuckled as I realised before putting down the sheet and lying next to him. He put his arm around my waist, pulling me closer.
"Oh, by the way, Maddy Thompson has a crush on you." I spoke. His eyes widened.
"What, as in the girl I like, Maddy Thompson?" he gulped, making me nod.
"How do you know?" he asked.
"She came up to me today and asked if we were dating. When I said no, she said good because she likes you." I explained. He smiled.
"Dude, ask her out." I encouraged.
"I will. Thanks, Y/N." he smiled before kissing my head.
Michael
I stood at my locker, sorting out my things.
"Boo!" Michael yelled, jumping out from behind my locker door.
"Michael Gordon Clifford, how many times have I told you not to do that!" I hissed, making him chuckle.
"I'm sorry, I had to, you know that I love you really." He smiled as Simon and his posse passed us.
"Aww, is Michael still upset because he's being friend-zoned?" Simon fake-pouted. We scowled at him.
"Don't worry, bro, when I finally get my hands on her, I'll give it an extra tap for you." He smirked, looking up and down my body.
"In your dreams." I spat.
"Always." He chuckled, moving closer to me.
"You won't touch her." Michael snapped, standing in front of me. Simon scoffed at him.
"I don't think that that's your choice, Clifford." He sneered.
"You're right, but she's already made her answer very clear. So, back off." He spat.
"What are you going to do if I don't, huh?" Simon smirked.
"This." Michael spoke before punching him in the jaw, sending him down immediately.
"Michael!" I exclaimed as I placed my hand on his cheek. He leant into my touch quickly, a sign that he was calming down.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I couldn't let him disrespect you like that." He spoke.
"It's okay, thank you, just don't do it again." I sighed, making him nod.
"Come on." I spoke, grabbing his hand and walking us away.
Ashton
Ashton and I sat in the library, trying to get started on the project for history. Our teacher had allowed us to pick our partners, and as much as I loved Ashton, picking my best friend to be my partner was the worst idea I could have had.
"Okay, so, why did-." I stopped as I saw Ashton balancing a pencil on his upper lip.
"Ash, for fucks sake." I muttered as I grabbed the pencil.
"You got rid of my moustache." He pouted.
"You do realise that if we don't do well on this, the teacher is going to fail us and she won't let us work together again." I sighed.
"So?" he shrugged. I scoffed at him.
"I meant about failing, not about being stopped from working together." He spoke.
"I know. But I can't afford to fail this class, and neither can you." I sighed.
"We're not going to fail, Y/N. You know how I work. I leave it until the last minute, and then pull off an amazing assignment." He smirked.
"Wow, cocky much?" I chuckled.
"You love me really." He smiled, resting his head against my shoulder.
Calum
Calum and I walked into the hall, where our school prom was being hosted. Neither of us had gotten dates, so we had decided to go as best friends.
"Wow, this place looks amazing." I spoke.
"Not as amazing as you." He complimented, smiling at me.
"Shut up." I chuckled, jokily pushing him.
"You want to dance?" he asked.
"Sure." I nodded. He placed his hand on the small of my back and led us to the dance floor. We faced each other, Calum's hands holding my waist as I hung my arms over his shoulders.
"This is so nice. Dancing with my best friend." I smiled.
"Yeah, but...would you ever think of me as more than just a best friend?" he asked carefully.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I don't know. Would you ever think of me as...a boyfriend?" he asked, making my eyes widen.
"I've never really thought about it." I admitted.
"Oh. Because, I've thought about what it would be like for you to be my girlfriend, a lot and...I like the idea." He spoke quietly.
"I like the idea too." I admitted. He smiled before slowly leaning down and pressing our lips together. He broke the kiss after a moment.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked.
"Yes." I smiled, kissing him again.
Luke
Luke and I walked into the clothes' shop and looked around.
"What are you looking for?" he asked.
"Um, mainly bras and underwear." I spoke.
"Oh, um...shouldn't one of your girl friends have come with you then?" he asked awkwardly.
"No, you're my best friend, you're fine. Also, I'm seventeen, what do you expect?" I sighed.
"This one is nice." He spoke, holding up a purple lace bra.
"Yes, it is. And that's why you're with me, and not anyone else." I chuckled. He returned it as I headed into a changing room. I took off my top and my bra before trying on the new one.
"I like that." I mumbled to myself before reaching back to unclasp it. I couldn't undo the clasp.
"Come on." I muttered.
"Fuck." I sighed as I knew what my only option was.
"Luke, can you come in here for a second?" I called out.
"Are you sure?" he asked.
"Get your ass in here, Hemmings." I huffed. He pulled back the curtain and his eyes widened at the sight of me in just a bra.
"Um, what do you need?" he coughed awkwardly.
"I need you to undo the clasp." I spoke.
"Um, okay." He gulped before reaching forwards. My breath hitched as I felt his hands against my back. Suddenly, he stopped. I turned around to face him.
"Why did you stop?" I asked.
"So that I could do this." He spoke before crashing our lips together. I was taken back at first but I quickly kissed back. He broke the kiss.
"I've wanted to do that for as long as I can remember." He admitted.
"So have I." I chuckled. He returned it before kissing me again.
Michael
I rushed into the hospital and ran up to the reception desk.
"Which room is Michael Clifford in?" I asked.
"Room thirty-six, down the hall."
"Thank you." I spoke before running down the hall. Tears pricked my eyes as I saw him.
"Hey." He smiled weakly.
"I'm so glad that you're okay." I sighed in relief as I sat down next to his bed and took his hand.
"Of course I am, I would never leave you." He spoke, looking into my eyes.
"I know." I smiled gently. He just looked at me.
"What?" I asked.
"I thought that I was going to die, and I couldn't stop thinking about you." He admitted.
"Michael, please don't-."
"I couldn't stop thinking about how I may have died without ever asking you to be mine." He cut me off. My breath hitched.
"And I pulled through. But that's not going to stop me from asking." He spoke.
"Yes." I smiled before leaning up and gently pressing our lips together.
Ashton
I walked into Ashton's house, where the party was being held.
"Hey, princess." Ashton smiled, hugging me.
"Hey." I returned it.
"Drinks are in the kitchen, so is food. The dance floor is in the living room." He spoke.
"Cool." I smiled before heading to the dance floor. I started to dance, swinging my hips to the beat of the music. Soon enough, I felt someone grip my hips. I turned around to see Luke behind me.
"Hey." I yelled over the music.
"Hey. You okay with dancing with me?" he asked.
"Sure." I smiled before turning back around and letting Luke hold my hips again. Suddenly, my arm was grabbed and I was pulled away from Luke.
"What the hell?" I hissed at Ashton.
"Why were you dancing with Luke?" he spat.
"We're friends, that's what friends do." I snapped.
"Not like that and not with him." He muttered.
"Why?! Who the hell am I meant to be with, then?!" I snapped.
"Me!" he exclaimed before crashing our lips together. I returned it quickly, hanging my arms over his shoulders. I broke the kiss.
"Okay then. I'm yours." I whispered. He smiled before kissing me again.
Calum
I coughed loudly, leaning over the side of my bed before collapsing back onto my pillows. I sighed and took a deep breath before closing my eyes.
"Honey, I have someone to see you." Mum spoke as she walked in.
"I don't want to see anyone." I mumbled.
"Not even me?" I looked up to see Calum stood there.
"If you're only here to give me homework, you can fuck off." I smiled. He laughed before walking in and shutting the door.
"No, I came to see how my sick best friend is doing." He chuckled as he put his bag down and sat on my bed.
"I'm doing shit. I've not gotten out of bed all day and I haven't eaten anything either." I mumbled.
"You want to try eating something?" he asked.
"No." I grumbled.
"Wrong answer." He spoke as he got a flask out of his bag.
"What's that?" I asked, sitting up slightly and propping my weight onto my elbows.
"Mum's homemade chicken soup. She said it'll make you feel better." He shrugged.
"Aww, that's sweet. Tell her "thank you", but I've already tried soup, and I can't even eat that without throwing up." I groaned before slumping back onto my bed.
"Oh dear. Is there anything else you want from me?" he asked.
"Cuddles." I smiled, extending my arms. He laughed.
"Your mum warned me not to get too close to you." He chuckled.
"Get your ass here, Hood." I spoke, grabbing his arm.
"Alright, alright." He laughed, standing up and taking his shoes off before climbing in next to me. I sighed in bliss as I wrapped my arms around his waist and rested my head in the crook of his neck.
"You're going to get me sick." He chuckled.
"We can be sick together." I nodded before closing my eyes.
Luke
"Can we go to the movies this weekend?" Luke asked as we walked into school.
"Sure. What do you want to see?" I asked.
"I don't know." He chuckled, shoving his hands into his leather jacket pockets and looking down at me.
"We'll have a look at lunch." I chuckled and shook my head as we stopped at my locker.
"So, how are things with Amelia?" I asked as Luke leant against the locker next to mine.
"They're alright. Our six-month anniversary is coming up and I have no idea what to get her." He sighed.
"I can help you with that." I shrugged. He nodded before his gaze drifted past me and his smile turned into a scowl.
"Hey, babe." Jackson smiled as he walked up to us.
"Stop calling me that." I mumbled as I felt Luke straighten up behind me.
"Why?" he scoffed.
"You seem to have forgotten that we broke up last week." I muttered.
"Whatever, baby girl." He smirked, moving his hand towards my ass.
"Hey, keep your hands where I can see them." Luke spat as he stood in front of me.
"Oh, now it makes sense. You're fucking your best friend!" Jackson laughed.
"No, I just think that she deserves respect." Luke snapped.
"Whatever. Have fun being a slut." Jackson scoffed.
"What the fuck did you just call her?!" Luke hissed as he pushed Jackson.
"Woah, Luke." I spoke, standing between them and putting one hand on his chest and the other on his cheek, making him lean into my touch. I turned to look at Jackson.
"Go before I change my mind about not letting him beat the shit out of you." I snapped. He scoffed before walking off.
"You alright?" Luke asked.
"I'm fine. Thanks for defending me." I smiled.
"Anything for you." He nodded, kissing my head before taking my hand and walking us away.
Michael
I opened my eyes as I heard Michael shut the car door. My eyebrows furrowed as I sat up slowly. I looked down and sighed as I was still in my graduation robes. I opened the door and was immediately met by the salty air that came with the ocean. I stepped out of the car, being careful with my heels and still being aware of my tipsy head. I walked towards the hood of the car, where Michael was sat.
"Did you kidnap me, Clifford?" I chuckled, making him laugh.
"No, of course not. Literally everyone knew about this but you." He smiled as I took a seat next to him, prompting him to wrap an arm around my shoulder.
"Why did you bring us here?" I asked, looking at him.
"Well, it's where we first officially became best friends, and the sun is going to set in about five minutes, so I thought it would be the perfect way to say goodbye to each other." He sighed in bliss, looking out at the ocean. My smile faltered.
"Oh." I muttered. He looked at me.
"What? Do you not like the idea, we can go somewhere else-."
"No, I love the idea, I just thought...I thought we'd stay best friends into university." I shrugged, looking down.
"Of course we will, Y/N. It's just that we're going to be hundreds of miles away from each other. Okay, think of it not as a goodbye, but as a "until I see you again"." He smiled. I returned it.
"Okay." I nodded. He returned it before kissing my head and pulling me closer, prompting me to rest my head in the crook of his neck.
Ashton
Ashton and I walked into the party and looked around.
"I'm getting a drink, do you want anything?" Ashton yelled over the music.
"Vodka and coke please." I shouted. He nodded before kissing my head and disappearing into the crowd. I stood on the dancefloor, swinging my hips to the sound of the music. Suddenly, they were grabbed and I was turned around as Leo smashed our lips together. I smiled as I returned it, holding his face. I broke the kiss and looked at him.
"Hello, baby girl." He smirked.
"Hey." I smiled, biting my lip. He smirked again before joining our lips and walking us back. He sat on the chair and pulled me onto his lap, keeping our lips together as I smirked. Suddenly, I was pulled off of his lap.
"Ashton, what the fuck?" I scoffed as he pulled me away.
"Are you fucking kidding me, Leo?!" he spat at him.
"What have I done?!" he snapped.
"You fucking know what, don't act all innocent." Ashton hissed.
"Ashton, what are you on about?" I scoffed.
"I literally just caught him making out with another girl in the kitchen." He admitted, looking at me. My eyes widened as I looked at Leo.
"Is this true?" I choked.
"I'm sorry, Y/N." he mumbled. I shook my head.
"Come on, Ash." I muttered as I took his hand and started to pull him away from Leo.
"I'm not leaving without teaching him a lesson." He scoffed.
"And I appreciate that, but I just want to get out of here." I sighed. He returned it and nodded.
"Okay. Let's go." He smiled gently before walking us out.
