Ch2: Bugs attack

(3rd Person PoV: Flashback time)

Two years prior, Aki and Crow were dueling.

They have previously had gotten into a heated argument and were dueling to settle it.

"Listen, no matter how hard you try, you'll never be able to defeat me. I am much more skilled than you are," Crow told her.

Aki didn't think so. She had trained and practiced ever since she first got her hands on her cards.

I could beat him here and now, she thought while making a fist.

"Splendid Rose, attack BW-Sirocco the Dawn!" Aki shouted and her monster went on the attack

"I activate my trap, Shadow spell. This decreases one of your monster's attack by 700," Crow stated and chains appeared, wrapping around Splendid Rose who then got attack by Sirocco the Dawn, making Aki lose the duel.

Aki fell to her knees, in disbelief that she lost. Taka, Nerve, Blitz and Rally were also in disbelief. Aki lost?

"I told you that we are not the same. I win duels by not just using monsters but using the other cards in my deck. You can't win with monsters alone," Crow told her as he approached Aki.

(Flashback over)

In present time, Crow was staring at Satellite from the window of his penthouse.

He then looked down at the card that he was holding.

Black Rose Dragon. Aki's Ace. He wonders in the back of his mind on how did Aki gain such a destructive card? Then again, he also never told anyone how he got Black Winged Dragon.

He heard a knock and saw that Rex Godwin, the director of the Maintenance Department and head of Sector Security.

"Why are you thinking about that past? You're always staring at Satellite someway or another," Godwin noted.

Crow chuckled before tossing Black Rose Dragon's card back into his deck, perfectly wedging it into the middle.

"I think it'll be better for us if Satellite was wiped off the face of Earth. I never felt so...small while living there. Nothing good ever comes from Satellite," Crow explained.

"It is impossible to do that. Without Satellite, Neo Domino City wouldn't prosper as the civilians of Satellite recycle the trash sent to them by the civilians of Neo Domino City," Godwin explained.

He then added on, "You being from Satellite is a test from God himself."

A test from God huh? Crow thought as he turned away from Godwin.

Wish it felt that way.

Back at Satellite, Rally was standing on a platform in an abandoned subway while holding onto a timer.

He seemed to be waiting for someone.

Zoom!

Aki, on her D-Wheel, raced by the platform and Rally clicked on the timer. He looked at it and a wide grin spread across his face.

"Aki! Aki! You did it! You beat your record!" He cheered.

Aki slowly drove back to the boy and removed her helmet.

"I did?" She asked and Rally excitedly showed her.

"If you keep this up, breaking through that pipeline will be easy for you," he explained.

"Ok, time me again. I want to get this perfectly because we'll only have one shot at this," Aki told him, placing her helmet on again before speeding away down the tunnel again.

Meanwhile, Blitz, Nerve and Taka were at a recycling plant, working.

As they were carrying boxes full of trash, a guy with blue hair and a yellow criminal mark stuck out his leg, making Taka trip and injure himself.

"Hey! Are you ok?" Blitz and Nerve dropped their boxes to help their friend.

"Whoops! It was an accident, my legs are just sooo long! Even some Satellite scum would understand that," the blue haired guy laughed.

"Good one, Uryu!" One of his goons laughed while the other giggled.

"Yeah yeah, someone with a criminal mark would say that," Blitz said, sarcastically.

This pissed off Urye so he violently grabbed Blitz's shirt collar and punched him.

A big fight broke out and so many blows were tossed around.

Later, Blitz, Taka and Nerve were at the hideout with Rally treating their wounds.

"Tch! I hate that guy! Despite being banished to Satellite, he still mocks Satellite borns for such," Blitz snapped.

Rally sighed at this and just tapped his check with a cloth that was covered in medical alcohol which made Blitz wince as it stung.

Blitz then turned to Aki who was typing something in the computer.

"Oi, what about that officer you dueled? Do you know his name?" He asked.

Aki didn't reply immediately as she tapped the edges of the computer while thinking before typing something in. She then glanced over her shoulder and replied with, "Ushio, I believe."

"Hmmph! Any self respecting duelist ought to uphold the outcome of the match," Blitz said.

"I wouldn't call him a duelist. But for a dog of the establishment, it seems like he can accept his losses," Aki explained.

"Cold,"  Taka whispered to Nerve.

(Meanwhile)

Ushio was being brought before a Security chief who took one long look at him and sighed.

"You should put your work before dueling," he told him before pulling out a deck.

He handed it to Ushio who looked through it.

"This is...," Ushio couldn't believe his eyes.

"Use that Special Pursuit deck to capture that woman," the Security chief explained.

"Th-thank you! And I will, just let me know when her D-Wheel shows up again," Ushio said, happily.

(Back at the hideout)

Speaking of D-Wheels, Aki turned her attention to hers.

She plugged in the computer to the screen and checked its code.

As she was doing this, Aki spoke up, "I think it's almost time to sneak into the city to reclaim Black Rose Dragon and the D-Wheel that Crow stole."

"Yeah...man I remember the time we all saw a Turbo Duel for the first time," Blitz noted.

"Yeah, because of that, we all wanted to make a D-Wheel. All thanks to Aki's planning and blueprints, we were able to make one," Taka said.

"Yep! And when we finished, Aki synchro summoned Black Rose Dragon. I loved that day!" Rally exclaimed.

"Yeah...but still, I wonder if Crow has been plotting against us even then?" Taka sighed.

No one replied to that.

"..."

After an awkward pause, Aki cleared her throat.

"Well, the D-Wheel has past all expectations and ran the simulation smoothly," she explained.

Before her friends could say anything, they were interrupted by a wolf whistle.

"Would you look at that? Such scum of Satellite shouldn't own such luxuries," Urye stated, his goons behind him.

Something told Aki that he wasn't just talking about the D-Wheel.

"Listen here, beautiful. Give us the D-Wheel and your friends won't get beat up again," Urye explained.

"How about we duel for it?" Aki asked.

"A duel? Well would you look at that boys, we just won the lottery," Urye said and his goons laughed.

He then turned to her. "Alright then. You got yourself a deal."

Aki grabbed her duel deck from the deck holder and swapped it for another deck, this time that was made for ground duels.

She then took out her Duel disk from her D-Wheel which Urye noticed.

"Nice, nice," he said.

"Aki, don't duel him," Taka and Nerve told her.

"Just...trust me on this. Ok?" Aki asked, looking at them. She has a sense of worry on her face as she looked at their wounds.

"...fine," they said.

I trust her and everything but that doesn't have to mean I have to like this decision, Taka thought.

All of them walked further into the subway. Aki and Urye faced each other with their duel disks at the ready.

"DUEL!"

Aki - 4000 LPS

V.S

Urye - 4000 LPS

"I'll start the first turn, draw! Hmm, let's see. A-ha! I'll start off by summoning Chainsaw Insect in attack mode (ATK: 2400. DF:0)," Urye began.

"That's a strong monster that's only level four!" Rally cried.

"And then I'll activate the continuous spell, Retribution of the Ant Lion. Any time our monsters are destroyed, we get inflicted 800 points of damage. With that, I end my turn," Urye said.

"I wonder what type of strategy he plays?" Nerve wondered.

"Why, only the best of course! With a Power Insect deck," Urye explained.

Aki drew a card as this was going on.

"...I set Violet Witch (ATK:1100. DF:1200) face up in defense mode and set a card down. That's all," Aki stated.

"What a pathetic move. Well that's a big mistake," Urye said as he started his turn by drawing a card.

"I summon Pinch Hopper and then I activate Insect Costume which means I can add an Insect monster from my deck to my hand. Which also destroys Pinch Hopper in the process," Urye explained and his monster got shattered into pieces.

However, large glow came out of his duel disk.

4000 —> 3200 LPS

"Huh? Why did I lose life points?" Urye asked.

"It's because of your spell card. If a monster is destroyed, then the controller of that monster gets 800 points of damage. Geez, learn your own cards," Blitz rolled his eyes.

"Oh, you're right. Well anyway, thanks to Pinch Hopper's effect, I'm able to special summon Metal Armoured Bug (ATK: 2800. DF: 1500) from my hand," Urye explained.

A large silvery bug appeared which made some of them shook.

"That bug is huge!" Nerve called out.

"But I'm not done yet. By banishing Insect Knight and Pinch Hopper from my graveyard, I can special summon Doom Dozer (ATK:2800. DF: 2600) from my hand," Urye added on.

A large centipede like creature appeared and made a chattering noise.

"And now, Chainsaw Insect, attack Violet Witch!" Urye shouted.

His insect jumped onto Violet switch and slashed her in half which shattered her into pieces.

"Now normally, you wouldn't take damage since your monster was in defense mode but that's where Retribution of the Ant Lion comes in," Urye explained.

4000 —> 3200 LPS

"When Violet is destroyed in battle, I can add a plant monster with 1500 defense points or less to my hand," Aki explained, not phased by this.

She grabbed a card and placed it neatly on her hand.

"Whatever that card is, it's not going to help you! Direct attack, Metal Armored Bug!" Urye shouted.

3200 —> 400 LPS

"And now another direct attack! Go, Doom Dozer and finish this!" Urye shouted.

"I activate my trap, Counter Gate. When you declare a direct attack, I can negate it and then draw one card. If it's a monster then after Counter Gate resolves, I can summon it in attack mode," Aki said and Doom Dozer stopped its attack.

She drew a card and looked at it.

"Fortunately for you, I didn't get a monster card," she explained.

"Hah! Like that's going to do anything for you. Lady, you can't do anything against my Power Insect Deck," Urye boasted while his goons laughed.

"I now begin my turn," Aki said, rather calmly as she drew a card.

This is it. This is her game face on, Taka thought.

"When you're the only one who has a monster on the field, I can special summon Rose Princess (ATK:1200. DF: 800) onto the field. If special summoned this way, it can be treated as a tuner," Aki explained.

A humanoid monster with a red petal hair and a red dress appeared.

"Tuner?" Urye asked.

"And since it was added to my hand by Violet Witch's effect, I can special summon Rose Fairy (ATK: 600. DF: 1200)," Aki added on.

A smaller pinkish fairy creature appeared onto her field.

"I think I know what she is planning," Rally said, excitedly.

"About time. Go do it, Aki!" Blitz cheered.

"Level 3 Rose Princess tunes level 3 Rose Fairy. Out of the shadows, comes out a beautiful flower with a tremendous power! Synchro Summon! Appear, Splendid Rose (ATK: 2200. DF: 2000)!" Aki shouted.

Her Synchro monster appeared.

"N-no way. Someone from Satellite owns a Synchro monster?" Urye gasped.

"D-don't give up. You can still beat her," one of his goons said while the other laughed nervously.

"I then use the equip spell, Fighting Spirit. For every monster on your field, the equipped monster gains 300 attack points. Therefore...," Aki stopped so Urye could figure it out.

"No way, 3100 attack points?" He asked.

2200 —> 3100 ATK

"I then activate Domino Effect and now, I'll have Splendid Rose attack Chainsaw Insect. Iron Hot Thorn!" Aki shouted and Splendid Rose threw a thorny vine at the monster.

3200 —> 2500 LPS

"Now take the effect of your Retribution of the Ant Lion," Aki added on.

2500 —> 1700 LPS

"Since I destroyed a monster in battle, I can now use Domino Effect by sending Counter Gate and Fighting Spirit to the graveyard. That way, I can destroy the rest of your monsters," Aki explained.

His two other monsters toppled against each other and destroyed themselves in the process.

1700 —> 900 —> 100 LPS

"All of his monsters are gone," one of Urye's goons gasped.

"But I'm still standing and by my next turn, I'll make sure that you're going to regret what you have done," Urye stated.

"Not for long since I'm going to finish what I have started. By banishing a plant monster from my graveyard, I can halve the attack points of Splendid Rose to make a second attack," Aki explained.

"And this one is going to be direct," Nerve said.

3100 —> 1550 ATK

"Finish it. Rose Petal Whip!" Aki shouted as Splendid Rose threw another thorny vine, making the hologram smack Urye across the face.

100 —> 0 LPS

WINNER: Aki Izayoi

Urye fell onto the ground and Aki walked up to him with a stern look on her face.

"Duels can only be won if you use all types of cards with one another," she told him.

It was something similar to what Crow told her all those years ago.

"Tch! Well next time, you won't be so lucky!" Urye shouted and he and his goons left.

(Later)

In the City, Crow was driving around the race track. Suddenly, he stopped and looked up.

Godwin noticed this and walked over to him.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"It's clear...the moon. It's just like the moon when I escaped Satellite to Neo Domino," Crow explained.

In Satellite, Aki was also staring at the moon above her.

It's almost time...Crow, she thought.

A/N: hi there! It's been a while. Yeah, I had sudden motivation to write because I finally got what cards would Aki use in this duel.

That's one of the main reasons why this took so long. But fear not, I have worked out a system! It'll still take me a while but at least it's going to be an update.

Nothing else to say here other than...
