Ch1: The Start

(3rd Person PoV)

All six marks of the Crimson Dragon were glowing. Something was wrong but what?

Head, Wings, Right Claw, Left Claw, Heart, Tail.

And then...they faded away. Onto new hosts.

The Crimson Dragon must find who has what. They'll have to go back in time to see what changes came upon it.

(Somewhere in the City)

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER FOR THE KING OF GAMES! CROOOOOOOOOW HOGAN!" An announcer with a fabulous pompadour shouted.

A black D-Wheel shot out of garage looking thing and drove up to the starting line.

The crowd went wild at this and the rider waved his hand around to acknowledge this.

"I am here to give you the duel of a lifetime!" He shouted.

Meanwhile in a more ruined down city, in a deserted ruin of a subway, rode another D-Wheel and a young woman, whose face was covered by her helmet, was riding it.

She checked the speed of what she was driving on.

It's alright. We're alright here, she thought.

Back at the arena, the MC had announced something very exciting about the duel.

"Both Crow Hogan and his challenger, Mukuro Enjo had begun their duel by activating the Field Spell, Speed World!" He shouted.

The arena then turned into a lilac color and the crowd cheered with excitement.

"Remember, Speed World prevents the usage of regular Spell cards meaning that both riders will need to use Spell Spells and rely on their Speed Counters! And look! Mukuro takes the lead!" The MC exclaimed.

The rider, a man with orange hair and sunglasses, covered with a skull themed helmet, laughed.

I have the advantage with Skull Flame (ATK: 2600. DF: 2000)! Hogan won't know what hit him, he thought but he was wrong.

"I tune my monsters to Synchro Summon Black Winged Dragon (ATK: 2800. DF: 1600)!" Crow shouted.

"What?! No way!?" Mukuro cried.

"Now attack! Whirlwind Assault!" Crow shouted and his Dragon swooped in for the attack and destroyed Skull Flame and won him the duel.

"He did it again! The King of Duels once again proves that he is unbeatable!" The MC shouted which the crowd went wild at this.

Meanwhile the D-Wheel, that the young woman was driving on, broke down due to the engine failing.

The young woman cursed under her breath as she steadied it for a slow stop so she wouldn't lose control of the D-Wheel and crash.

"Damn it. That's the second time this week," she muttered.

She got out and took off her helmet, revealing brown eyes and crimson hair with some of it being held up by a silver hair accessory.

Aki Izayoi looked through a crack in the subway area and stared fondly at the moon.

She sighed and pushed her D-Wheel all the way to her hideout where her friends, Blitz, Nerve and Taka were watching an interview.

Crow's interview.

"So Crow, why was there an instance where you struggled against Mukuro's trap cards?" The MC asked.

Crow took the microphone and responded with, "If I went all out, then there wouldn't be a show for all of my fans. A duel must be entertaining."

"Entertaining my a*s. He completely wiped the floor with that guy," Nerve grumbled.

"Sheesh, it's always the same thing," Blitz agreed.

They were so fixated on the TV that they didn't notice Aki walked in and doing some basic maintenance on her D-Wheel.

She revved up the engine which made a loud noise, making her wince. Despite being around D-Wheels for three or so years, she never got used to the sound of the engine being revved up.

This caused her friends to turn off the TV quickly and turn around to see that she arrived.

"Ah Aki. Our bad," Taka apologized.

"It's fine," Aki gave them a soft smile.

She glanced at the TV before giving them a questioning stare.

"Yeah, Crow's duel. He completely toyed around with his challenger!" Nerve explained.

"Then he must have been a weak duelist if Crow was able to beat him that easily," Aki said.

He was probably bored as well, she thought.

"Maybe but you could beat Crow if you tried," Blitz pointed out but Aki wasn't quite so sure.

"Yeah if he haven't stolen that D-Wheel from 3 years ag-," Nerve started but got interrupted by a new voice.

"Guys! Guys! I got great news, where's Aki?" A young boy wearing a long raggedy coat and a yellow beanie ran in.

Aki tilted her head as Rally approached her.

"Aki, look! A brand new D-Wheel chip," Rally held up a small blue chip.

"Hey where did you get that?" Blitz asked.

"I found it among the garbage," Rally replied.

"I don't believe you. There's no way that you just found it. Not a chip this brand new," Taka rolled his eyes.

"Shut up! It's true," Rally snapped.

"Remember the last time you stole? It didn't go very well," Nerve crossed his arms.

Rally was about to yell at him when Aki took the chip from his hand.

"Hey Rally. Can you help me program this into the D-Wheel?" She asked.

Rally gave her a wide smile and nodded.

Aki placed the chip in and Rally typed in some code into a computer.

After a small bit, Aki revved up the engine of the D-Wheel and it made a healthy, loud noise.

"Whoa! So much power!" Nerve gasped.

"Go on, Aki! Go for a drive," Rally picked up Aki's helmet.

Just then, a bright light flashed on all of them and they could hear the sounds of a helicopter above them.

"Identification of AWX86007! Identified as Rally Dawson! You are under arrest for suspicion of theft!" A large booming voice stated.

"Rally!" Nerve snapped.

"Ok fine! I did steal it from the Factory!" Rally admitted.

"Look what you have done! We don't want to wear this mark if we're caught," Taka said and pointed to Rally's mark.

"Enough," Aki said and turned to the computer and began to type into it.

She wished that she didn't have to do this so soon but better now than never.

"There, I severed the mark. Now Sector Security won't track you," she said.

"What?" Blitz asked.

"Now go. I'll hold them off," Aki said and placed her helmet back on her head.

She disconnected her D-Wheel from the wires and drove off to meet with the Sector Security who were at the entrance to the hideout.

She revved it up and raced away.

"The suspect is on the run! After him!" An officer said and they chased her far enough so Blitz, Taka, Nerve and Rally could escape.

As they were following her, Aki took a moment to revel in the speed of her D-Wheel.

It's so fast! There's no clunky way to drive, it's more than smooth! The new chip is working wonders, she thought.

She lead Sector Security to a desolate tunnel entrance and stopped there.

As they stopped, one Sector Security officer got off of his Duel Chaser and noticed that the person that they were chasing was a woman and not a man like they assumed but also that she didn't have a marker.

She was a decoy then, he thought.

"Who are you and where did you steal this D-Wheel?" He asked.

Aki didn't reply to this but after giving her head a tilt, she suggested, "How about a duel?"

"A duel? Heh, there's no way garbage like you would have cards," the officer scoffed.

To this, Aki held up a deck.

"I have cards, I found them," she said and placed it in her D-Wheel.

Now that's interesting. A duelist among Satellite's trash? The officer thought.

"If I win, you forget about what happened this night. If I lose, I'll go with you willingly," Aki told him.

"Now wait a minute-," the other officer said but the first officer told him to be quiet.

"Officer Ushio...," he said.

"I accept this duel of yours. Now you lot, go," Ushio told them.

"Yare yare...fine. Let's go!" The other officer shouted and everyone but Ushio and Aki retreated.

"I don't trust Sector Security but since you're a Duelist, I find myself trusting you a bit more," Aki told him as Ushio got on his Duel Chaser.

"Yeah yeah whatever, trash," he said.

"I activate the Field Spell; Speed World!" Ushio shouted and the field turned violet.

"Auto pilot mode on! Standby!" An automatic voice commanded from their D-Wheels.

"DUEL!"

Ushio -4000 LPS SC: 0

They drove off into the tunnel.

"I'll go first!" Ushio said as he drew a card. He looked at his hand and grinned.

"I summon Assault Dog (ATK: 1200. DF: 800) and then I set a card down. With that, I end my turn," he started.

"My turn," Aki said and drew a card.

SC: 0 —> 1

SC: 0 —>1

"I summon Phoenixian Seed (ATK: 800. DF: 0)," she started.

"Hah! That doesn't have nearly enough attack points to take down my Assault Dog!" Ushio laughed.

"By sending Phoenixian Seed face up to the graveyard, I can special summon Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis (ATK: 2200. DF: 0) from my hand!" Aki shouted.

An amaryllis looking plant appeared and it flowed violet.

"What? How could garbage like you pull off a move like that?" Ushio asked.

"Now attack! Amaryllis grip!" Aki shouted, annoyed at that comment from Ushio.

Her monster gripped onto Assault Dog which destroyed it.

4000 —> 3000 LPS

"Damn you! Oh well, I activate Assault Dog's own effect. If it gets destroyed and sent to the graveyard, I'm able to special summon another Assault Dog from my deck!" Ushio laughed.

And just like that, another monster took the place of the destroyed one.

"...when Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis destroys a monster and after battle calculation, it's destroyed," Aki said and her monster disappeared.

"Then you have nothing to defend yourself with," Ushio pointed out.

"I wouldn't say that. I set a card down and banish a plant monster from play to resummon Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis in defense mode. And then since a face up Plant monster was sent to the graveyard other than being destroyed in battle, I can special summon Rose Girl (ATK: 800. DF: 600) from my hand," Aki added on.

Just like that, she has two monsters on her field.

"I end my turn," she finished.

SC: 1 —>2

SC: 1 —>2

"Damn you! I release Assault Dog to Advance Summon Handcuffs Dragon (ATK: 1800. DF: 1800) and now I attack your Rose Girl!" Ushio said.

"Trap card! Plant Food Chain! I can equip this card to a plant monster and it'll gain 500 attack points! Aki intervened.

Hopefully that'll lessen the damage from Handcuffs Dragon, she thought.

"Hmmm. I suspected that you might use a trap card so I decided to play this down. Wiretrap! Not only I can negate your trap but it returns to your deck and gets shuffled in," Ushio explained.

"..." Aki's trap got placed back in her deck.

"Now continue attacking her Rose Girl!" Ushio shouted.

Handcuffs Dragon tossed up its handcuffs which trapped Rose Girl and destroyed her.

4000 —> 3000 LPS

"Hah! Your cards are nothing special if you just found them! They are trash just like you," Ushio mocked as he end his turn.

SC: 2 —> 3

SC: 2 —> 3

Aki drew a card and glanced at her hand.

I can't do much for now so I'll defend. Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis is in defense mode so that's good already, she thought.

"I set two cards down and end my turn," she said.

"My turn then," Ushio said and discarded three cards.

"I have discarded those three cards in order to special summon Montage Dragon (ATK: ? DF: 0) and then I could raise the attack points by the levels of the monsters sent to the graveyard by 300! Two of my monsters are level three while one is level two," Ushio explained.

That means! Aki realized.

? —> 2900 ATK

"Attack Handcuffs Dragon! Destroy Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis!" Ushio shouted and Handcuffs Dragon trapped the monster, destroying it.

"Now Montage Dragon. Attack her directly with Power Collage!" He shouted as a beam of light shot out of Montage Dragon, decreasing Aki's life points.

3000 —> 100

Her D-Wheel began to shake and it slowed down massively as this affected her speed counters as well.

SC: 3 —> 1

"You should give up now! There's no way that trash and their trash cards could ever defeat Sector Security," Ushio laughed.

"...you're wrong! I believe in myself and my deck, I know that we'll pull through. There's something about a card that I had previously that I haven't quite mentioned yet," Aki explained.

"What do you mean by that?" Ushio asked.

"You will see," Aki drew a card and smiled.

That's it!

"I activate the trap, Graceful Revival to bring back Rose Girl!" She shouted.

"Tch! Why bring back a weak monster like that?" Ushio asked.

"That's the thing I forgot to mention. Rose Girl is a tuner monster," Aki explained.

"What?!" Ushio was shocked.

She has a tuner monster?! He thought.

"I then summon Grass Phantom (ATK: 1000. DF: 1000)!" Aki added on.

"Level 3 Rose Girl tunes Level 3 Grass Phantom! Out of the shadows, comes out a beautiful flower with a tremendous power! Synchro Summon! Appear, Splendid Rose (ATK: 2200. DF: 2000)!" She shouted.

A humanoid monster with a rose on its legs and thorny vines appeared.

"What? So you know how to Synchro Summon as well?!" Ushio cried.

"Battle! Splendid Rose, attack with Iron Hot Thorn!" Aki shouted, directing towards Handcuffs Dragon.

3000 —> 2600 LPS

"Big mistake! Handcuffs Dragon, equip yourself onto Splendid Rose to make it lose 1800 attack points!" Ushio shouted.

2200 —> 400 ATK

"The battle is over, I won!" Ushio laughed.

"Trap card, Equip Shot! I can equip an attack monster with an equip monster that I control and since you were so generous in giving me one, then I equip Handcuffs Dragon to Montage Dragon," Aki intervened.

3000 —> 1200 ATK

"But I could go further. By banishing a plant type monster from my graveyard, I can target a face up monster that you control and halve the attack points until the end of this turn. I banish Grass Phantom!" Aki added on.

Splendid Rose threw a vine which wrapped Montage Dragon, decreasing the attack points.

1200 —> 600 ATK

"Battle! Iron Hot Thorn!" Aki shouted.

Splendid Rose attacked again with a different thorny vine which destroyed Montage Dragon.

2600 —> 1000 ATK

That was a huge hit but I still have life points! I won't lose to scum like her! Ushio thought.

"If Splendid Rose attacked then I can banish another Plant type monster to halve their attack until the end of this turn and by doing so, I can attack a second time," Aki explained.

"WHAT?!" Ushio cried.

2200 —> 1100 ATK

"Attack again and finish this! Rose petal whip!" Aki shouted.

1000 —> 0 LPS

WINNER: Aki Izayoi

Ushio's Duel Chaser immediately came to a halt and vented up steam into his face.

"Damn it! I lost! To Satellite scum out of all people," Ushio cursed.

Aki drove up to him, giving him a cold, long stare.

"Any card,so long as it exists, has the potential to be useful. Someone who'd reject cards by calling them trash like you doesn't have the right to call himself a duelist," she told him.

She drove off, leaving behind an angry Ushio.

Curse you, Satellite scum! I will defeat you if it's the last thing I'll do! He silently vowed.

Aki drove all the way to a desolate road where she could see Neo Domino City and the bright lights that emitted from it.

She held onto her arm and stared at it. She gripped onto it before getting off her D-Wheel.

Be on your guard, Crow. Because I'll be coming soon, she thought.

It'll be about time that they settle things.

Right?

A/N: new book time! I have a problem :D

But don't worry, I finished a book before this so it's all good!

So yeah, this is an Au where the Signers are swapped. As you can already tell, Aki is swapped with Yusei and Crow is swapped with Jack.

I got plenty of plans >:3 (take a shot for how many times I have said that in my books)

Sorry if the duel seemed kind of lackluster. I tried my best with it.

Excited to see what kind of changes might happen?
