Volume 1: An Approaching Menace

Okay, fair warning before we start:
This story, or chapter rather, is quite dark. Well, it's very sadistic in nature, in the sense that victims are toyed with before they're killed. You'll see what I mean.
Also, I'm thinking of putting a word count in the description for each chapter so people know what to expect.
And yes. This is a JoJo's Reference.

*****

The child that walked with demons stopped abruptly in the lonely walkway, listening to the echoes of their footsteps travel far. Dragging alongside it was their second-favourite toy: The Toy Knife, chosen as the tool of demise for the child's final opponent. It gazed around the desolate hall, watching the dust that had settled onto it float away propelled by a whispering wind which once howled in fury at this very figure.

The hall itself was quiet and judgemental at the very figure who had silenced the voices that brought a spark of life to its walls. But now those voices would never speak again. All because of the actions of one.
The one in question was curiously examining its surroundings, looking for a certain figure. The Judgement Halls had never failed to deliver the figure of that Trashbag after a refreshing Genocide spree, but it stood to reason that things would be far more different this time around. After all...

A quiet hiss came from above the child, Crimson-Red steam clouding from seemingly thin air. Then slowly, a spirit-like creature stolen from the nightmares of children began to materialise above the child. It had muscular black-red arms shadowed with scars and sickly grey razor-claws protruding from its hands, emitting a very faint aura much like its summoning steam. Its equally beefy legs wore broken silver armour that ran across parts of it. Scars were an added decoration, ones in surplus. Its torso seemed to have a rather hazy black cloud covering it, but you could still see the painfully raw battle wounds ingrained upon it, wounds that would never go away. Amalgamated over where a human's heart would be nestled a golden heart-shaped locket that was covered by blazing-red thorns, an undecipherable name engraved upon it. Eyes dripped black tears, leaving a permanent blackened tear-stain upon the face. Gleaming grey canines greeted any that looked upon them, locked behind a charcoal-black smile that screamed "BLOODY MURDER".
It was the first thing that the child had seen when it opened its vessel's eyes, eyes that were part of a body that it had signed a contract with. It then knew that it had succeeded in what it had been trying to accomplish for so long:
Something new. Something that would make existing in this world satisfying and worth all the troubles it had gone through.

The child smiled, a look that would turn the stomachs of devils queasy. It recalled how many other monsters it had slaughtered possessed an ability just like it. It also came to understand that only those with the same abilities could see other spirit creatures as once, when it cleaved through that irritating IceDrake who would not stop making Trashbag-level puns, it noticed that the IceDrake couldn't see what was tearing it to bird meat.
Of course, there weren't many that possessed those same abilities. In fact, it was pretty sure it could count all those who could on its fingers. So, as its spirit began to fade away, the child took a stroll down memory lane.

Toriel, who wielded a blazing fire spirit that the child could only describe as a hybrid of a bird and a goat. Its flames were definitely strong, but it couldn't hold a candle to the sheer power of its enemy. The child cringed externally at the pun, taking its mind off it by fondly remembering the horrified look on its mother's face as her arms, which the child guess were how she expertly manipulated her flames, were viciously torn from their sockets before the child's spirit cleaved straight through her body with its surprisingly sharp claws. Then, as her body failed her and began to BREAKDOWN (BREAKDOWN), he'd taken her hands and ripped out the bone from her right arm.
And used it to shatter her own SOUL. That ideology of killing people with their own weapons blossomed from there, and it felt satisfying indeed. It was the ease of taking down a Boss Monster that made the child realise just how powerful its spirit really was, though its mind was not allowed rest from her haunted expression.

The Dog Guard had all possessed a spirit that was visually identical to their own bodies, but was more muscular. In the case of the now-dusted canine couple, their spirits were of each other. Love is quite powerful, it had though as it punched through the brain of the female one and used her spirit's already-fading axe to slash the other into hundreds of dog pieces. Now while it was on the subject of killing monsters with their own weapons, didn't it also blind the dog who couldn't see moving things with its own smoked dog biscuits by jamming them into his eye sockets and then through his neck to shut up his pained whines? And tried to overstretch the neck of the dog who could extend his neck really far but gave up and just broke it instead? And if it wasn't mistaken, it had taken the spear of the big one and jammed it straight through its body vertically. Ah, fun times.

Papyrus...
was an interesting one. Normally, he'd make some stupid speech about how he still believed there was good inside and more boring jazz, on which it would deliver a finishing flurry punch barrage straight at his chest. This time however, he didn't. Instead of his usual speech, he went on about how he knew there was no redemption for it after he had seen what it had done. And with a saddened but serious look on his face, his silver-armoured spirit had charged it with a French rapier drawn. It was perhaps the only battle that posed an interesting challenge to the child. For one thing, Papyrus's spirit was fast, reaching speeds that surpassed even the child's. This resulted in a few bruises from the skeleton, but nothing life-threatening. For another, Papyrus himself had actually taken action and gone on the offensive unlike any of the previous monsters it had fought.
And this Papyrus didn't believe in taking turns. Interestingly enough however, he didn't use any of his usual attack and only had a bone which doubled as a sword.
Luckily, the child was able to stand against the skeleton while its spirit battled on. The turning point came when the child was pushed just a little too hard by an attack. So to retaliate, it had instructed the spirit to break the sword at the base and then break the hands. It did so and offered the blade to the child. Now looking at a Papyrus who could not hide the tears that revealed the excruciating pain that lay in his broken arms, it smiled.
And had its spirit proceed to slash all of Papyrus's bones, keeping the wounds shallow for maximum pain. It listened with joy at the pained cries that emanated from his tear-soaked head. And when only the head remained with an expression of one brutally tortured, the child had taken the sword and planted a kiss on it, before plunging it straight between his eyes and watching the skull disintegrate.

As the child picked up a bit of rubble that had fallen at its feet and crushed it between the fingers, it was reminded of when it had fought Undyne.
Oh, Undyne. If Papyrus was a challenge, then Undyne was a threat. Especially when she unleashed the full power of her DETERMINATION form. As the child examined her spirit appearance, which was of a green colour and a muscular gel-like texture with robotic joints, the child came to a shocking realisation:
The child's spirit was powerful, but the physical strength of Undyne's spirit was insane, being nearly on par with the child's own spirit. It knew it would have been stronger if not for her user sharing the same strength. Those two combined were a fierce duo, taking every last ounce of speed from the child and its spirit to not be on the receiving end of their punches. Of course, that wasn't the only thing that it needed to look out for. Undyne also had a rather annoying ability up her sleeve that she had dubbed "Determination! Spear Rain Splash!" where her spirit summoned thousands of spears to launch at the child. The child was lucky its spirit was physically powerful and was able to punch the spears away or else it would have been a Human Spit-roast.
Undyne was smart. She knew she had to end this fight fast or her power would kill her, so she double-teamed the child in the hopes of landing a devastating hit. Her plan may have worked...
But as she launched herself towards him, a fist planted itself straight through her stomach. The child winced in disgust as it remember how she had coughed up DT essence onto the spirit's arm that was protruding through her and the look of pure anger she had given him as it backed away.
She didn't learn, going for the kill again. So the spirit smashed through her heart from the back and watched as she went limp on its arm.

After that, the fights were pretty boring. The Royal Guards were burnt alive, the various monsters met their untimely demise by unseen means A.K.A the spirit and so on and so forth. Mettaton surprisingly didn't have a spirit and tried putting up a fight in his NEO form. A SOUL-crushing fist put an end to that nonsense, the child thought with satisfaction as it watched the robot go limp and explode into nigh-untraceable pieces. There was one delicious highlight though...

Alphys was nowhere to be seen, as per usual. The child had accepted this in the usual way: Walking straight through without a complaint. They had better things to do.
However, the child could hear soft sobbing echoing from above, where an emotionally-broken scientist lay sobbing on her sofa. When she heard the child, her only reaction was to look up and BREAKDOWN (BREAKDOWN) once more. The child knew that killing her would just be a kindness, so instead...
Hidden in their inventory was the spoils of war he had taken from Undyne; the helmet of the Elite Captain of The Royal Guard. Over the cries of the scientist, the child began to see a cruel torture for this scientist.
Equipping the item, the child proceeded to ram it over Alphys' head and throw her downstairs, where her camera was. When she shakily pulled herself up and saw her reflection, her mind was slow to process.
"You failed her. Just like the others." Came the eerie whisper of the child to her ears. And it was those words that finally broke the damaged lizard's mind as she crumbled, never to open her eyes again.
Just remembering it brought back chills of pleasure, the child thought as yet another smile of pleasure rushed over them.

For a few minutes more, the child remained the only occupant of the lonely hall of judgement. Boredom seeped inside, making a decision for the child to move on and finish this run. The Trashbag had robbed the immense excitement that had built up inside in anticipation for the final clash between powerhouses.
Oh well. Perhaps the humans shall offer some fun. In the meantime, there was a King to dethrone and a BARRIER to eradicate. And the child doubted they would even need the human SOULS to do it.

"KA-RACK"

A bone whipped past the child's face just as it stood outside the entrance to the King's chambers, embedding itself into the wall with a spiderweb of cracks around it. Shock left the child's face as quickly as it came, a smile of pure joy replacing it.

He had arrived after all.

30 metres away leaned the petite figure of Sans the Skeleton, though the child was curious as to what name he took in this timeline. Somewhere in its mind the child recalled that the monsters here had called themselves by other names.
Names unfamiliar to it such as:

"Mohammed Avriel",

"Noriaki Kakyne",

"Jean-Pierre Polrynus",

And a handful of other ridiculous human-sounding names that the child suspected may have been from interference by some higher-dimensional entity. But that was irrelevant for the moment.

"so." Came the far cry of the skeleton. "you've made it quite far, huh? must be feeling pretty proud of yourself." He didn't move a muscle, but the child could make out a faint light-blue glow emanating from him. His eye, it guessed, though the question of whether he possessed a spirit still plagued it. It was possible he didn't, which would be a huge disappointment, but the child remained optimistic. It'd still be able to have fun regardless.

"what? not going to say anything?" he suddenly spoke again, cutting through thoughts. "shame. and here i was ready to deliver a big speech and all that smooth jazz." he expressed himself, looking straight ahead at the child. It guess that he was looking right into its eyes.
"chario dreemurr." he spoke again, the name washing over the child. that was it. that was its name. "also known as chario brando. well, in this timeline anyways."

The child started walking towards him. So, the skeleton knew things did he? It wondered just how much he knew though.
"oh, i know quite a lot. i know you're really chara from the true timeline, bored as heck." He replied with a deceivingly calm tone, pushing himself off from the wall "and i know what you did to appease that boredom."
Then, he took a single step.

Chario couldn't see his face properly, but she could feel his anger from all the way here. Anger that brought a smile to her face.
"So then you know what I did to Undyne and the others then, hm?" She asked, her voice taunting the other as she began to move as well.
"and what you did to your own mother." he added as the distance between the two shortened. This only resulted in the other grinning even more.
"Oh, I'm going to have so much fun with you. Perhaps I'll even give you the same treatment I gave your brother!" A line that made the skeleton stop in his tracks.

"You're next!" She yelled out, pointing at him with her left hand as her Crimson steam began to surround her once more. "COMITARO!"

"you b*****d..." he growled, his eye flaring up immensly bright as he began to approach her MENACINGLY.
"CHARIO."

"Oh, you're approaching me?" She asked, eyebrow raised as she smiled sadistically. "Instead of running away, you're coming right to me?"
"Even after you've witnessed my immense power that easily crushed the strength of Kakyne herself, like a giant tomcat playing with a weakened mouse without escape paths or energy for flight?!" Her voice reached greater heights as she began to lose herself a little more in the madness of battle.

"i can't give you a bad time without getting closer." He promptly replied as a dark blue aura began to envelope him, breaking Chario into goosebumps of pleasure.

"Oh ho." Her eyes locked onto his with the glare of a lion about to prey upon a rhinoceros that had dared to invade upon its territory. "Then come as close as you like."

And as the two predators closed the gap between themselves, life was brought back to the wind as it howled even louder than it had ever done before.
For it knew that this moment...
Would decide the fate of THE WORLD.
