Fingers slowly trailed down delicate pages, eyes hungrily taking in each word of the nearly finished novel. Her right hand gingerly reached to turn the next page when infuriated yelling evaded her senses. Her figure slowly stiffened, her right hand now reaching to softly close the book instead of continuing on. The leather clad book now solemnly resided on the pristine white bed drawer next to her.
She lightly sat up on the bed that she and her lover shared, swinging her feet over the side and standing up. She flattened out her robes hurriedly as she began pacing towards the doors and into the hallways. As she exited the hallway she collided face first with two troopers who seemed to be hurriedly rushing the opposite direction of her. She groaned slightly, rubbing her nose a bit before looking up. The troopers stiffly stood in their spots, waving their arms as a sort of apology. Not uttering a word, she mouthed out 'Kylo' and pointed to the direction she was heading in.
They both gave curt and nervous nods, again silently apologizing. Waving it off she whispered that it was nothing of importance, smiling at them she excused herself and continued walking.
In a matter of time she found the room she was searching for. Sparks flew out of the room as the angry screams melded with the humming of his light saber.
Now more worried than frightened, she rushed in. Being careful in order to avoid the soaring sparks and pieces of metal littered on the ground. She had never seen her lover like this, she might've seen him angry but never like this.
She took caution in approaching him, slowly making steps towards him. Being careful not to possibly frighten him or cause any more anger, she softly set her hand on his shoulder. Giving him a reassuring squeeze she moved slightly so that they were facing each other.
"Kylo, what's wrong?" She cooed softly, bringing her hands gingerly to his masked face. In a moments time she had already unclasped the metal bindings. A sigh of relief escaped her lips as her (e/c) eyes met with the warm chocolate orbs that she loved so dearly. She tenderly brought her fingers to his black tresses, running her fingers through them gently in a calming matter.
A pair of arms wrapped themselves around her torso, burying his head in the crook of her neck he sighed softly. "The droid - It got away, again." He mumbled sourly. His walls were breaking down around her. She was the only person that he let see the this side of him. She was the only person that he loved and truly cared about.
Soft comforting words escaped her lips, each syllable calming him down in a manner that none could replicate. His anger melting with every word she cooed out of her rosette lips. He felt safe in her embrace, he felt as if she was the one person who truly supported his decisions, whole heartedly.
"Kylo, don't worry - let's go back to our room and we can talk there, hmm?" She suggested, the words sounded like music to his hears. His expression clearly exhibited exhaustion and stress, and it pained her to see her lover like this. Her fingers slowly drifted out of his soft locks and down to his face. Leaning in and pressing a soft kiss against his own chapped lips, she smiled at him and carefully put her hand in his, giving a reassuring squeeze.
The walk back to room didn't take long, the two lovers side by side didn't even dare to let go of each other's hands. How someone as caring and loving managed to capture Kylo's tormented heart had questioned ever since they've met. She had always stood by his side and supported his decisions, giving support in the darkest of times.
They made their way to the white silken bed and sat down, (Y/N) sitting crisscross in front of him. She tenderly opened her arms for him, letting him melt into her warm embrace. She continued the familiar gesture of combing her fingers delicately throughout his soft black tresses. Tilting her head down slightly she gave him soft kisses against his forehead every now and then, whispering sweet things after every small kiss.
"A phoenix must burn to emerge." Came the riddled whisper. Her arms falling smoothly down to her side, reaching for his hands, she faintly squeezed them. A symbol of recognition of all the burden and troubles he went through, to show they did not go in haste.
She picked her arms up slowly as she wrapped them around his neck nimbly, embracing the two lovers in another heartwarming hug. Nuzzling her face softly into the crook of his neck she gave a hum of enjoyment. Rarely, did they have time to spend time together, or surprisingly take about the things they enjoyed together. So she took her time and relished every single moment of it.
She rubbed comforting circles with her hands gently on his back, breathing in the scent of pine and vanilla that she adored beyond comparison. She could feel him calming down much more than before. His breaths were equal and steady, a sign of relaxation and comfort.
"Your failures do not define you Kylo. You are still the amazing man I love and believe in." She mumbled, tilting her head back and leaning in again to give him a chaste and quick kiss.
"I love you."
"I love you too Kylo Ren. More than all the stars in every and each galaxy."
