Plays.
How fun.

Our play was called Romeo and Winifred. This was probably the highlight of my eighth grade year. I had a few bumps along th way, but other than that it was great. I made a bunch of friends, seventh and eighth graders, and it was really fun. I got my first boyfriend during play, too bad it didn't last long.
His name is Charles, but there are so many everyone called him Chuck and it stuck. Also he hates Charles, so.
He's 6'3" ish, and I'm 5'2". All my friends made fun of me when I first told them (calling us the giant and the bean), which just so happened to be April Fool's Day. No one belive me, or him, so we had to explain to everyone it was true the next day. I remember, he was really nervous and he asked me out, kinda on the bus ride home. And Grace was with us, and she kept screaming "Everyone! Cassie has a boyfriend!!!" The whole ride home.
It was after play rehearsal on a Thursday, and he told me that Gabe had convinced him to tell him who he liked, and it was me. And I told Gabe I like Chuck. So it was kind of up to us, but neither of us knew and we were awkward af. Gabe tried to tell me, because obviously I have no problem asking people out, but he was pulled away to get on stage. Later, when Gabe left and most everyone had gone home. We were waiting for the busses to pull up, and Chuck kinda hinted at something, and then he said something along the lines of 'you want to go out' and I said I mean I don't see why not. When we got on the bus, he didn't hear me, so he assumed I said yes.
Because he's a big kid, we never sat together on the bus rides home whenever we stayed after school, because his legs were too big he filled up the seat completely. Eventually, we decided it was strange and a little forced, and we cut it off. We still talk, it was the most mutal ending ever, and we've been talking ever since. He's one of my many best friends and I was really really really happy I met him. Sometimes it takes a while to meet really amazing people. We realized later that we were in science and gym together in seventh grade. Never noticed. I knew he was from my town, but I never bothered to talk to him. But I'm glad we did all that and now we're here. He's ten thousand times smarter than me, he's on the football team, and I know he's gonna do great things. I still don't know what he ever saw in me, but whatever it was, he stuck around. Thank God.
