5 Second Rule...
10 Seconds.
"I thought it was five," Yesenia said as she stared at her chocolate on the ground. It was broken in half and the edges had been rounded out with the heat of Walter's hands.
9 Seconds.
"No," Walter replied quickly crouching down, looking at the area it had landed. No gum, or dust, or flying hairs around. Except that cigarette stub a foot away.
8 Seconds.
Yesenia watched her nose scrunched up as Walter started to blow on the chocolate. "I'm pretty sure it's five."
7 Seconds.
"Where did you hear that?" Walter asked, his voice gruffed from all the blowing. He let out a choking chuckle. "An adult?"
6 Seconds.
Yesenia furrowed her eyebrows, slightly ticked. "My sister. She knows what she's talking about."
5 Seconds.
"Ha!"
4 Seconds.
"Walter, take it back! My sister is way more experienced about this stuff than us." Yesenia straightened her posture and looked down on Walter as he had his hands ready for pickup.
3 Seconds.
"Yesenia, shut up." Walter was trying with all his concentration to figure out a way to take hold of the chocolate. He was almost there with an idea, but Yesenia kept yakking his ear off.
2 Seconds.
She watched Walter bony hands moving about, his position almost near the floor. She had to think quick. Quick!
1 Second.
In Walter's vision he saw a silhouette covering the sun, he ignored it. And then a sparkly pink sandal stepping in front...and completely crushing (stomping several times!) on the candy bar.
