Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf?
Lisa was so excited. She was jogging home from her school's bake sale with a plate of cookies! She couldn't wait to bring them home to her family. She was shaking while she jogged. Luckily, the cookies were wrapped in plastic. If they weren't, Lisa definitely would've lost them.
On her way to her house, she decided to take a shortcut through a forest. The further she walked into the forest, the quieter it became. Eventually, she could no longer see or hear any signs of civilization. No cars, no houses, nothing. "This seemed like a better idea at first." Lisa said to herself.
Suddenly, she heard a howl off in the distance. "AWWWWWOOOOOoooooooooo!". Lisa tried to reassure herself. "It's just a dog. A big dog.". However, she knew it was no dog. She knew it was a big, scary wolf. Luckily, she knew where her house was and scurried in that direction.
"I've been going this way from 10 minutes. I must be really close." Lisa thought to herself. She was making her way in between two large bushes. She turned a corner and gasped when she saw what was up ahead.
It was a wolf leaning on a tree! However, this wolf wasn't like any she's ever seen. It walked on two long legs, like a human. It had long arms too. Strangely, he was dressed like a gentleman! He wore a top hat, a suit, gloves, a bow tie, pants and dress shoes.
Lisa was frozen in fear. It look just like the Big Bad Wolf from fairytales! The Wolf pushed himself off the tree and approached her. "Food! Finally! I'm starving!" He growled. His gloved claws curled, reaching for Lisa! She screamed and ran the opposite direction.
The Wolf wasn't far behind her. "Wait! Come back! Stop running!" He hollered. Lisa wasn't going to listen to him, she kept running. After a while, she couldn't hear him anymore. She stopped and looked around, no sign of him. She let out a sigh of relief, thinking he was gone.
Suddenly, he burst out of the bushes! This time, he was riding an old-timey bicycle! Lisa knew she couldn't outrun him now! She dropped her cookies and ran to find a place to hide! It was her only hope.
She found a tree stump and dove behind it. She curled up in a ball and shut her eyes. All Lisa could do now was hope that The Wolf didn't see her.
The bicycle's tire screeched to a stop. Lisa held her breath. She then heard the crunch of leaves. The Wolf was walking her way! Lisa began to cry. She thought it was the end.
Then, instead of crunching, she heard munching! Lisa was now confused. With a boost of bravery, she peeked around the stump. The Wolf was sitting down, eating something. It was her cookies! The Wolf turned towards her. "Sorry to scare you, I just love cookies!" He said.
The Wolf apologized to Lisa for scaring her, and they sat down and shared the cookies. "You know, Lisa, we wolves actually really love cookies. Especially chocolate chip. In fact, I know a guy who eats them in a bowl of milk like cereal!" The Wolf then went on to explain that he's not so "big" and "bad". "It's all the Grimm Brothers' fault, they made wolves look bad. We don't blow houses down! We don't disguise ourselves as grandmas!"
It was getting dark, so Lisa felt that she needed to go home. She let the wolf keep the rest of the cookies. The Wolf then gave Lisa a bicycle just like his, only it was her size. The two of them rode home together.
