Brianna was extremely excited. She was hosting a Halloween party for all her friends! Halloween was her favorite holiday, and she was looking forward to celebrating it with her friends.

     To make the party even better, everyone was going arrive in costume! Brianna was going to be a vampire. She knew what all her friends were going to be too.

     Later that night, Halloween night, Brianna worked hard setting up her party. She placed bowls of snacks on the coffee table. She hung decorations from the ceiling. She played a scary movie on the TV. Just as she finished, a knock on the door was heard.

     Brianna went to answer it. It was all her friends! Anthony was a werewolf. Jake was Pennywise. Ashley was a witch. Sasha was Supergirl. And......wait a minute.

She only invited four of her friends. Who was this fifth person in the Hobgoblin costume? When she asked him, he just snarled at her. None of her friends knew who he was either. "He just kinda joined us as we walked in." said Anthony. "Maybe if he behaves, we'll let him stay." Sasha added in. Brianna didn't like this idea very much, considering that he could be a stranger.

     After a few minutes, everyone settled down to watch the movie. It was Night of the Man-eating Jack-O-Lanterns. "I hate this movie! I hate this movie!" protested the Hobgoblin. "Turn on Friday The 13th, or else I'll go berserk!" They didn't listen to him. So, he went berserk!

     The Hobgoblin threw the snack at Anthony and Sasha. Then he chopped the decorations off the ceiling, right before whacking Jake and Ashley with them. Finally, he picked up the coffee table, held it over his head and threw it at the TV!

     The Hobgoblin stormed out the house, leaving the mess for Brianna to clean up. She apologized to her friends for everything that happened. They cleaned up whatever they could and salvaged what they could of the party.

     The next day, a furious Brianna demanded she knew the true identity of the Hobgoblin. She asked every kid in her school, none of them knew what she was talking about. She even went far enough to ask every kid in town! Still, she got the same response.

     If it wasn't her friends, if it wasn't any kid in school or town; then who was the Hobgoblin?
