Chapter 17

Waking up in his arms felt like heaving for Mel as she turned to find him awake and smiling.
"Good morning darling," she murmured.
"Good morning to you too my love," he said pulling her closer to him. "How was your night?"
"Hmmm pretty dull," she said giving him a mischievous look.
"Dull? If I remember correctly you were..." He said before she silenced him with her lips.

-------

"Good morning Mr Shields," Andre said in greeting.
"It is a good morning isn't it?" Linc smiled at the chef as he prepared a cup of coffee for himself and another tea for Mel.
Hearing the click of heels he turned to see Mel walk in a crisp white shirt and black pencil skirt that showed off her curves.
"Good morning Andre," she said with a smile before answering her phone.

A few seconds later she turned to Linc saying, "Darling Debra is at the gate she wants to drop the kids off it seems she has an emergency.
"Okay," he said calling the security booth to allow the guests in.

"Mel I am so sorry to bombard you like this, but I need your help. My mom is not feeling well and I cannot take my son to England please watch over him for me," she said frantically.
"Of course Deb," she said looking towards Linc for approval which he gave instantly.
"Thank you both so much, I owe you guys she said as Casey her husband pulled her towards the car.
Debra and Casey's son Willard went to the same school as Zach and usually had play dates or sleepovers.

Once they left Mel ushered the boys indoors.
"Andy!" Both Zach and Will yelled running towards Andre.
"Ah, gentlemen. You are back, finally, someone who can help me sample the food," he said grinning at both boys.
She turned to find Linc on his phone, giving orders to Ken as he told him he would be working from home.
"I'm going to fetch my baby," Mel said when he informed her they wouldn't be going to the office today.
"I'll take you there," he said undoing his tie as he went up the stairs.
"But what about the boys?"
"It's already taken care of," Linc said.

He changed into black jeans as Mel threw a white polo shirt over to him to wear. He chose black Dolce and Gabbana sneakers which had a white sole. Everything looked like it had never been worn.
"Are those new?"
"No love," he said handing her a smaller white polo shirt similar to his, as she pulled on her skinny jeans. Sitting down she pulled on white wedge sneakers as he knelt to help her tie up the shoelaces.
"You don't have to do that Linc," she said with a shy smile as he did up the lace.
"I want to," he simply said focusing his attention on the task at hand.

Walking over to a section of the closet he opened a panel and entered a security code that opened up a section of the wall revealing jewellery. Picking out two watches he pulled her towards him slipping the watch over her wrist before attending to himself.
"If you wanted to dress me all you had to do was ask," she said seductively as he finished up.
"Hmmm, I'll see what I can do, to correct that." He said with a smirk as he pulled her out of their room.

-----

"If you boys behave I might just bring you a treat," Mel said kissing each of them goodbye.
"We will be back very soon, uncle Ethan will be here to take care of you boys," Linc said kneeling to their level before he stood up turning to Walter. "Any problems call me immediately. Ethan should be here in a few minutes."
"Yes, sire. The security detail has been informed to blend in today since you are driving."
Lincoln nodded his head in acknowledgement as he pulled Mel out of the house towards the garage.

With the press of a button, the garage doors opened simultaneously. Mel stared in shock at each of the cars as before her eyes was Hummer H3, Range Rover Evoque, Bugatti Veyron and a Lamborghini Aventador etc.
"Which one are we using?" She asked excitedly before he pulled her towards the Lamborghini.
Sliding into the car he opened up a compartment that had his and hers Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses. Handing over a pair to her he slipped his on starting the engine as they drove away from the house.
Switching on the radio Mel searched through his playlist deciding to play Levels by Nick Jonas turning up the volume as they sped down the road heading to the dealership. She was surprised to hear Linc singing the song in a clear voice making her laugh in glee as they enjoyed their journey.

-------

Pulling into the parking lot she spotted Chris's car in the parking lot. Scanning the building she saw him talking to one of the sales assistants.
"Chris is here," she said turning to Linc. He surprised her by just giving her a warm smile.
"Go in and do your thing, I will be waiting out here. Here you go," he said handing her a Bluetooth earpiece. "Stay on the line so I know how everything is going. He won't dare touch you, some of my men are already in there," he said kissing her as she stepped out of the car.
Looking back she realized she could not see Linc because of the dark Windows and was thankful for that. Chris would never know Linc was here.

"Good afternoon, how may I help you?" The young salesman said looking at her in disgust.
"Well, well, well, look who it is," Chris smirked walking up to them before she could respond.
Only one idiot loved repeating the first words out of their mouth like that. It was now irritating hearing him sing, "Well, well, well."

"I suggest you stay away from me Chris if you know what's good for you," she said with hatred.
"Someone is in a bad mood today, could it have something to do with lover boy," Chris said with a smirk.
"Why don't you shut up and do what you came here to do," she snapped turning away from him.
"Miss, please refrain from insulting our clients, or I will be forced to call security," Joe said.

"Listen here Joe," she said reading his name tag. If you had waited for my reply you would know that I am already a client," Mel stated looking at him with a blank expression.
Joe laughed saying, "Excuse me Miss but this is not a normal car dealership. We only offer customized vehicles specially made to please our clientele. You do not fit the calibre of our clientele," he said looking her up and down. "Only people of importance are clients here," he said. "Not your kind," he said turning away from her.
Chris burst into laughter as soon as Joe finished his statement.

Looking towards the entrance she saw Ken walking in with other men all looking sharp in their suits as the manager rushed to greet them. Ken handed the manager a paper as surprise and fear flashed across the manager's face.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I am sorry but we have to close up due to an emergency. We apologize for the inconvenience," he said as everyone slowly made their way out.

Mel noticed that several men remained behind as everyone walked out of the showroom. Most likely the men Linc had sent ahead. Through the glass, she saw Chris pull out of the parking lot and smiled knowing that one problem was gone.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Lincoln slowly walk in whilst talking on his phone as two men went and closed off the entrance.
"Perfect," he said ending the call and handing the phone over to Ken as he removed his sunglasses.
Commanding attention he called the manager over whispering something into his ear. The manager turned and asked Joe to see Lincoln personally Ken went on to further discuss with the manager.

"Mr Shields it's a pleasure to have you here. Please give me a few minutes to take care of the riffraff," he said turning towards Mel. "Ma'am please leave this premises."
Mel made a move to speak but remained silent when Linc shook his head no. She could tell he was beyond angry with the salesman from his fisted hands and clenched jaw.

Forgetting about Joe for a minute she took her time to admire her husband as he stood rigid. Biting her lower lip she ran her eyes up his body to find his eyes clouded over with desire as he was undressing her with his eyes. Sliding her tongue out she licked her now dry lips only to see his lips part as he took in air before clearing his throat as he locked eyes with hers. With a smile, she gave him a sultry look knowing he was already hot and bothered by her teasing.

"How may I help you, Mr Shields?" Joe asked sheepishly trying to grab Linc's attention.
Ignoring the question he walked over to Mel and pulled her into his arms kissing her passionately making his men turn away out of embarrassment.
"Hmmm mint my favourite," he whispered for her ears alone making her face heat up after a few minutes of assaulting her lips. "What's the problem mon amour? You were taking far too much time," he said his eyes piercing her own as he cupped her cheeks with both hands.
She couldn't see Joe but could imagine his shocked expression as Linc blocked her view.
"Joe over there, didn't want to help me," she said with a sly smile knowing he knew everything making sure her voice sounded defeated.
With his arms securely around her, he turned both of them around so they could face the young man. Joe stood with a shocked expression looking worried as Linc called him over with two fingers.

"Mr Shields I..."
He became silent as soon as Linc raised his hand signalling him to shut up.

Mel placed her hand over his arms to keep him calm leaning into his lean frame as she drew soothing patterns feeling him relax.
"Sweetheart, where is the car?" He asked looking down at her.
"Somewhe...," she murmured before Joe cut her off.

"Forgive me m....."
He stopped shrinking back under Linc's glare.

"Did I say you could speak? Never interrupt my wife when she is speaking," Linc growled making a move to go towards him only for Mel to squeeze his arms stopping him.

"What was it you said? My wife doesn't fit the what...? What was the word he used my love?"
Pretending to be in deep thought she shrugged her shoulders in defeat.
"What was the statement?" Lincoln's voice boomed angrily in the showroom as all his men turned towards him. Glancing at a guard who was closest to them he responded saying, "I believe it was that madam does not fit the calibre of their clientele," he said glaring at Joe.
Joe shuffled his weight from one foot to another sweating profusely.

Looking down he saw that Mel looked pained remembering Joe's last statement. She felt Linc's finger under her chin as he held her head up knowing what she was thinking about.

"Explain to me what you meant by the phrase 'her kind'," Linc said in a venom-laced tone.
"I....I...I," he stammered.
"Let me put you out of your misery. You are fired!" Linc growled out

"Now sweetheart I'm sure Joe here really needs the job. Let's just give him a warning," she said as most of the men looked stunned by her show of mercy and challenging their boss.
They knew that once Lincoln Shields fired you there was no point of return. Linc looked like he was fighting an inner battle as he stood looking down at her. Turning in his arms she tugged his shirt silently asking him to lean down towards her.
"He does look sorry darling," she said as Linc looked up towards Joe giving his attention back to her. "Why not give him a warning this might just be his turning point in life, besides think of how grateful he will be since he now works for you," she said softly.

"No Mel he has to go," he growled out making her flinch at his outburst.
Grabbing his collar she leaned her body into his, feeling his heart beat rapidly against her hands.
"Please darling Chris wants to buy a car here, Joe will come in handy later on," she whispered in his ear letting her lips graze his earlobe as he closed his eyes. "Besides imagine how good it will be....you and I in the bedroom, with me on the bed and you...you will be on the couch holding a nice soft pillow if you fire the poor boy," she said seeing his eyes widen in shock as she tried to hide her smirk. "Or imagine us together on that very same couch or the bed. So many possibilities," she said huskily her lips grazing his as his eyes turned a darker shade of green.

Looking towards Joe Lincoln simply stated, "One more chance."
Joe sighed in relief thanking them profusely as they left the floor heading towards the manager's office.

Getting her paperwork sorted out Mel was excited when she got her keys.
"Wait for me outside," she said jumping up to kiss his cheek as he laughed at her failed attempt to kiss him earning a scowl from her before he leaned down for her pleasure.
Pulling out of the garage she saw Linc ahead and slowed down rolling down the window to her black Lexus LF-LC.

"I'm sorry miss, but might I say you look very sexy in that car," he said flashing her a charming smile.
"Thank you very much, kind sir. You don't look too bad yourself," she said with a playful shrug.
"Shall we," he said with a chuckle indicating she go first.
"Ladies first," she said making him laugh aloud as he pulled away.

"Slow down baby," she heard him say via her earpiece.
"I am not even speeding darling."
"I know you love the adrenalin rush, but I need you in one piece," he said softly.
"Alright fine," she said slowing down as he drove beside her.
"Thank you," he said looking at her as they headed back home.

Pulling up to the manor Mel stepped out of her car as Ethan gave a low whistle admiring her car. Lincoln pulled her into his arms.
"My wife sure has taste," he said smiling at how excited Ethan was acting over the car.
"Can I take her for a spin," he begged.
"Sure only if you take the boys out afterwards. We need to get some work done," she said throwing the keys at him as she pulled Linc by his shirt who willingly followed her.
