SCENE TWELVE

EVERLY and MARK enter the building. They silently walk towards the elevator and MARK presses the button to go up to the 20th floor. The elevator stops. The doors open and EVERLY walks out looking around in awe. She stops and turns to MARK.

EVERLY: Why are we actually here? I mean, how can being here help me stop being suicidal.

MARK: Well, you've been having a rough life, right?

EVERLY: Yes, and?

EVERLY narrowed her eyes at him.

MARK: Well, you're not the only person who has a rough life. So, today you are going to be the acting CEO of Elvish Co. 

EVERLY: What?!

EVERLY: Acting...CEO?

EVERLY: How?!

MARK: Just ask your secretary for help when you need it. I'm heading out. I'll pick you up at eight. 

EVERLY: Wait, Mark-

MARK had already entered the elevator and the doors had already closed. EVERLY facepalms and sighs.
