SCENE SIX

INT. MARK'S GUEST ROOM- MORNING

EVERLY sighs. She got up. She looks around and rubs her face. She was in Mark's guest room. EVERLY closed her eyes briefly as the events of last night come rushing back to her. 

Flashback:

EVERLY gets ready to shove the knife into her neck but someone walks in staring at her wide-eyed, in shock.

The person is MARK. Her best and only friend.

EVERLY: Mark...I'm sorry. But I have to go. I can't-

MARK cuts her off.

MARK: No. I'm not going to let you kill yourself just because you're going through a rough time.

EVERLY(Screeches): Just because?! I've been going through a rough time. But now...I'm done. I'm tired of the pain and suffering. I'm leaving and you're not going to stop me.

MARK quickly reaches out and grabs the blade before she plunges it into her neck.

MARK: I have a proposal for you.

EVERLY(Narrows eyes): Go on....

MARK: Give me 48 hours to help you see the world in a new light.

EVERLY: 48 hours?! That's only two days! How could you possibly change my perspective in two days?!

MARK: A lot can happen in two days.

MARK: If you still don't see the world differently...I'll let you kill yourself.

EVERLY: Deal.

EVERLY knew she wouldn't change her perspective in two days. What she didn't know was that anything was possible.

Flashback Ends

MARK walks into the room. EVERLY opens her eyes. MARK stares at EVERLY with pity evident on his face. EVERLY'S face morphs into one of anger as she balls her fists up by her sides.

EVERLY: Don't look at me like that.

MARK: What do you mean?

EVERLY: You know what I mean. Stop looking at me like I'm a wounded animal. I'm not. I'm perfectly fine.

MARK (In anger): Fine?! You tried to commit suicide yesterday! That doesn't seem "fine" to me.

EVERLY(Annoyed):  Well-

MARK cuts her off. 

MARK: Don't forget our deal, Everly. 

MARK leaves the room.

SCENE SEVEN

EXT. GREEN LEAVES FUNERAL HOME - NOON

EVERLY sighs as she walks towards the funeral. She looks at MARK. She smiles softly grateful for his company.
