SCENE NINETEEN

EVERLY wakes up and gets off the bed. She stumbles towards her closet to get clothes to wear. After picking out an outfit, she heads to the bathroom.

SCENE TWENTY

EVERLY is at the dining table. 

EVERLY: What are we doing today?

EVERLY forgets for a moment, that today is the last day. The last day for MARK to convince her to not commit suicide. 

She blinks remembering that. The rest of the morning is silent as they walk out of the house and towards MARK'S car.  They enter and the car immediately starts. Everything whizzes past before they arrive at a homeless shelter. EVERLY quietly gasps. MARK looks at her as she takes in the sight.

MARK: You're going to volunteer at the homeless shelter today. Afterward, I'll come and pick you up and we'll...talk.

EVERLY nods and MARK leaves.

A homeless man walks up to EVERLY for food. EVERLY scoops food into his plate and gives him a small smile. The man's clothes were torn and raggedy. More people came and went. Seeing how they all looked broke her heart.
