رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا نَخَافُ أَن يَفْرُطَ عَلَيْنَا أَوْ أَن يَطْغَى

Rabbana innana nakhafu ai-yafruta 'alaina aw any-yatgha

Word By Word:

Rabbana: Our Lord

innana: Indeed we

nakhafu: fear

ai: that

yafruta: he will hasten

'alaina: against

aw: or

any: that

yatgha: he will transgress

Translation: Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds [20: 45]

Tafseer: They (Moosaa AS and Haroon AS) were now in Egypt and therefore in the power of the Pharaoh. The local atmosphere called for the greatest courage and firmness on their part to carry out the dangerous mission which had been entrusted to them.
