AMBER SAT ON TOP of one of the many tables in the living area. The team were all gathered together, while Tony sat in a wheelchair connected to an IV.
"It's been 23 days since Thanos came to Earth." Rhodey started with a solemn expression.
"World governments are in pieces. The parts that are still working are trying to take a census. And it looks like he did... exactly what he said he was going to do." Natasha continued.
Amber looked down slightly, "Thanos wiped out fifty percent, of all living creatures." She spoke up, as people looked towards her, as if just remembering she was there.
Tony twiddled with his glasses and looked towards Amber and Natasha "Where is he now? Where?" He asked quietly.
"We don't know. He just opened a portal and walked through." Steve sighed, folding his arms and looking towards the weak man.
The room went silent as Tony rubbed his temples out of pure stress and habit. His eyes panned over to Thor who was miserably sitting in the next room, not moving or making any eye contact.
"What's wrong with him?" Tony spoke up, staring at the lonely, depressed god.
"Yeah, he's pissed. He thinks he failed." Rocket replies from where he was sitting. "Which of course he did, but there's a lot of that's goin' around, ain't there?"
"Honestly, until this exact second, I thought you were a Build-A-Bear." Tony remarked, looking towards the bionic raccoon.
"Maybe I am." Rocket stated, fiddling with a small piece of metal. Ambers phone buzzed from her pocket, she reached to pick it up. The girl scrunched her eyebrows at the incoming spam of texts.
Texts from builders about the constructions, texts from Mrs. Morley about the kids, texts from staff about meetings and a text from Levi about his help. Amber sighed and slowly turned off her phone, she knew she'd have to answer all of the texts eventually but not now.
The girl placed her phone back down to see Tony and Steve bickering like children. It was horrible to hear their thoughts. She felt a pit in her stomach every time Tony thought about Peters death, she could visibly see it and almost feel the pain Tony and felt.
"Pfft! I saw this coming a few years back. I had a vision. I didn't wanna believe it. Thought I was dreaming." Tony argued, as Amber snapped back to reality.
"Tony, I'm gonna need you to focus." Steve said calmly.
"And I needed you. As in past tense. That trumps what you need." Tony replied angrily, "It's too late buddy. Sorry."
Tony stood up abruptly from his wheelchair, and pushed many items off the table causing a loud clatter. Amber winced at the sound and took a sharp breath in. The angry man ripped out the IV connected to his arm.
"I need to shave. And I believe I remember telling you, Cap.-" Tony begun, his voice eerily bitter, as he made a move to go for Steve. Amber sat up quickly as Rhodey intervened, trying to calm the man.
"Tony, Tony, Tony, stop!" Rhodey interrupted, trying to contain the man.
"Otherwise what we needed was a suit of armor around the world! Remember that? Whether it impacted our precious freedom or not- that's what we needed!" Tony stated, his voice growing louder.
"Well, that didn't work out, did it?" Steve replied bluntly.
"Steve." Amber carefully warned, raising a questionable brow at his behaviour.
"I said, 'we'll lose'. You said, 'We'll do that together too.' And guess what, cap? We lost. You weren't there. But that's what we do, right?" Tony raged, "Our best work after the fact? We're the Avengers, we're the Avengers. Not the Prevengers, right?"
"Okay, you made your point. Just sit down, ok?" Rhodey said softly, trying to usher the man to his chair.
"Nah, nah, nah" Tony continued, pushing Rhodey away, "Here's my point.".
"Sit down!" Rhodey ordered.
Tony looked towards Carol, "She's great, by the way. We need you. You're new blood." He started, he then averted his eyes to Amber, "And you! Pepper told me what she was doing. She's actually helping others. She's doing your jobs and she's not complaining about the work load and pressure".
Amber averted her eyes, as all the Avengers turned to her. The girl swallowed uncomfortably, while offering Tony a small warm smile.
"Tony!" Rhodey once again interrupted,
"Bunch of tired old mills! I got nothing for you, cap!" Tony continued, poking a finger towards Steve. "I got no coordinates, no clues, no plan, no options. Zero. Zip. Nada. No trust. Liar."
Steve looked affected by Tony's words. The two old friends just gazes at each other and after a moment, Tony ripped his Arc Reactor from his chest and shoved it into Steve's hand. Ambers mouth dropped in shock at the gesture.
"Here, take this. You find him, and you put that on. You hide." Tony responded weakly, before he fell to the ground. Steve went quickly to his side and everyone gathered closer.
"Tony!" Rhodey exclaimed, kneeling beside his friend.
"I'm fine. I..." Tony spoke, before falling into a heap, and going limp.
Amber quickly sat beside him and took his wrist, checking for a pulse. "It's faint but it's there. Take him up to the hospital and plug the IV back in." She informed them, rolling up her sleeves slightly.
Steve and Rhodey took Tony up, off the ground, as Bruce sped ahead to set up the hospital wing and IV.

"BRUCE GAVE HIM a sedative. He's gonna be out for the rest of the day." Rhodey informed Steve and Amber as they watched Pepper sit beside a sleeping Tony.
"You guys take care of him. And I'll bring Xorrian Elixir when I come back." Carol said briskly, walking past.
"Where are you going?" Natasha questioned, the woman.
"To kill Thanos." Carol replied, with a straight/ solemn face.
"Hey, you know, we usually work as a team around here, and between you and I, we're also a little fragile." Natasha raised a brow.
"We realize out there is more of your territory, but this is our fight too." Steve interjected.
"Do you even know where he is?" Rhodey asked, obviously unimpressed at the woman's actions.
"I know people who might." Carol reasoned, tilting her head, as Amber went through her many texts and voice messages.
"Don't bother. I can tell you where Thanos is. Thanos spent a long time trying to perfect me. Then when he worked, he talked about his great plan. Even disassembled, I wanted to please him. I'd ask 'where would we go once his plan was complete?'. His answer was always the same: To the Garden." Nebula spoke up, making Amber look at her.
"That's cute, Thanos has a retirement plan." Rhodey chuckled, trying to make light of the situation.
"So where is he then?" Amber asked curiously. Putting her phone on silent.
"When Thanos snapped his fingers, Earth became ground zero for a power surge of ridiculously cosmic proportions. No one's ever seen anything like it... Until two days ago." Rocket stated, creating a holographic image of a planet popping up, with a shockwave visibly traversing the surface. "On this planet."
"Thanos is there." Nebula confirmed with a curt nod.
"He used the stones again." Amber faintly said, as she studied the hologram.
"Hey, Hey, we'd be going in short-handed, you know." Bruce exclaimed, his face plastered with panic.
"Look, he's still got the stones, so..." Rhodey mused, raising his brow in thought.
"So let's get him... We'll use them to bring everyone back." Carol replied swiftly, her hands on her hips.
"Just like that?" Amber asked, shaking her head in confusion.
"Yeah, just like that." Steve responded in a monotonous tone. Carol glanced at him and the two shared a knowing nod.
"Even if there's a small chance that we can undo this... I mean we owe it to everyone who's not in this room to try." Natasha sighed.
"If we do this, how do we know it's gonna end any differently than it did before?" Bruce hesitantly spoke.
"Because before, you didn't have me." Carol said arrogantly, making Amber subtly roll her eyes, Don't get her wrong, she love Carol but sometimes Carol failed to see that the team were at their worst point.
"Hey, new girl, everyone here is about that superhero life. And if you don't mind my asking, where the hell have you been all this time." Rhodey questioned, his annoyance on full display.
"There are a lot of other planets in the universe. And unfortunately, they didn't have you guys." Carol acknowledged, her head tilting in slight satisfaction.
Thor, who had been eating a snack behind all this time, stood up and walked over to Carol. Amber exchanged glances with a concerned Nat before turning back to Thor. He held his hand up, and caught Stormbreaker as it flies over to him, missing Carol by inches. But Carol didn't even flinch, instead she offered a smile at the God of Thunder.
"I like this one." He grinned, holding Stormbreaker effortlessly.
"Let's go get this son of a bitch" Steve huffed, as Amber fiddled with her thumbs.
She didn't want to go to space. She had her priorities here and something was telling her that their 'effortless' plan was going to fall through, but Amber agreed anyway, in hope this may be their final successful mission, so that she could finally stop being the hero she was supposed to be.
