Alex's POV

As soon as Gaby left, Karen stood in front of me asking for a dance. I couldn't refuse her since I didn't want to embarrass her in front of all these people. I grudgingly walked onto the dance floor with her and kept a civil distance between us as she tried to plaster her body against mine.

"So you are now married," she stated as a slow song started forcing us to be a little closer.
"Yes," I replied as I created some distance between us.
Looking at her I wondered what had really attracted her to me, she had too much makeup on and her dress was practically revealing her body to the world. Her perfume was too much as it overwhelmed my nostrils forcing me to turn away from her.

I was taken by surprise when she pulled my head down and kissed me. I froze as she tried her best to get a reaction from me. Quickly pushing her away from me I turned to leave her on the dance floor, taking the first few steps away from her I looked up and my world shattered at what I saw.

She was shaking her head in denial as if to tell herself that she had just imagined what she had just seen. Each step I took towards her she slowly backed away and ran towards the exit. I quickly ran after her and was glad to see her getting into our car.

Aftonio closed the door and quickly pulled into the evening traffic.
"Baby what you saw, it's not what you think. I didn't kiss that woman," I said softly as tears fell from her eyes. "Please querido, forgive me for even dancing with her."

She remained silent looking out the window. Giving up I pulled out my phone I responded to some business emails. This was going to be a long drive back home, might as well be productive.

Once we reached home, she quickly jumped out of the car leaving me to follow slowly behind. The door was locked and I knew she didn't have the keys, she always forgot her keys. She stood patiently by the door waiting for me to open it.
As we entered the room I heard her gasp as she looked around but remained silent.

There were rose petals covering the marble floor which led up the stairs and soft candle light lit up the room. I hid my smile as I made a mental note to give Edward and the staff a raise. She walked up the stairs following the petal trail that led to our room. On the bed was "I'm Sorry Mi Amor" spelt out with her favorite blue roses.

"I'm sorry darling," I told her slowly making my way towards her until I pulled her into my arms.
"I'm sorry for the way I reacted. I know you would never do anything to hurt me Lex," she mumbled into my chest.
"It's alright baby. Now come I had Maria draw a lovely bath for us," I told her as I pulled her towards the bathroom.

Taking my time I helped her remove her dress loving the feel of her skin. I took my time unbuttoning my shirt as her scent enveloped my senses and she looked at me with pure lust in her eyes biting her lower lip.
Reaching out to me to help me remove my clothing faster I shook my head telling her no as I leaned down to kiss her gently.
"Its been a long day for you glykia mou (my sweet)," I told her as I added some more oils into the bath and gave her a bath.

"Stop treating me like a child," you do know I can do this on my own.
"Yes, but let me take care of you tonight baby. I know how you love your independence," I told her as I helped her into a silk gown. "Besides, you know you love it when I take care of you like this," I told her as she slipped into bed.
"Good night Lex."
"Good night agapi mou."

"How did last night go?" David asked as he barged into Alex's office.
"Don't you know how to knock?"
"That is a rhetorical question right, because you know my answer already," David chuckled.
"One of these days I will tell your wife about your wild days, if you don't start knocking."
"Hold on my friend, there is no need to get all worked up. We can discuss this like civilized man. I'll knock next time, you happy."
"Very," Alex said as he tried to hide a smile. "I should send a present to Anna, she really has done wonders with you."
"Watch what you say my friend, this friendship can end in a matter of seconds," he said with a scowl.

"Forgive me my friend," he said with a knowing smirk. "Now what is it that brought you here?"
"Oh nothing just thought of dropping by to see you, I never got the chance to say goodbye yesterday Anna was unwell."
"Thank you for stopping by, but as you can see some of us are very busy."
"I will leave you to work then file mou."

Gaby stopped by Alex's office later that afternoon.

"Lex!"
"Lex!"
"Mi amor, what's the matter? I have been calling you for the past couple of minutes."

"Sorry sweetheart," he said as he jumped out of his seat and pulled her into a hug.
"What's wrong," she asked him gently as she heard him release a long sigh.
"Nothing, I am fine," he stated.
"I stopped by just to check on you corazon."
"I have a lot of work to do today. I might be late today," he said in a clipped tone his voice etched with anger.
"I'm...I'm sorry for disturbing you. I'll just leave you to work," she said as she got up to leave his office.

Oh crap, not again.
"David, can we go out tonight," I said into the receiver.
"Sure thing, just let me inform the Mrs or else..."

"El... Ela. You loo... you look very sexy," Alex slurred as he walked into the house with David and Aftonio's help.
"I'm sorry about this Gaby, I tried to stop him but he just wouldn't listen."
"Please take him up to our room," she said with a frown on her face.

"Turn off the lights!" Alex grumbled as she opened the blinds welcoming the bright sunlight into the room.
Once his eyes became accustomed to the light, he saw his wife holding a glass of water and some aspirin out to him.
"Thank you, he mumbled as she turned to leave him without a word.
"Gaby," he cried out stumbling out of bed.
She turned to look him directly in his eyes without uttering a word. He could clearly see that she was angry and hurt. "Forgive me agapi mou," he said as his voice broke with emotion.
"Why are you apologizing Alexandros. Clearly you can handle whatever it is that has been bothering you. You shut me out yesterday. You also know I hate it when you get drunk. You know what, I can't stand being around you in this state right now. If you finally need me, I will be at the clinic," she said finally leaving him.

As she was preparing to leave work a knock sounded on her door. Her last patient a little boy of four walked into her office holding a blue rose and a small card.
"For you Dr Gaby," he said sweetly.
"Why thank you very much Aaron," she told him as she looked up to find his mom smiling at her office entrance. "Here you go," she said handing him a lollipop as he happily rushed out to his mother.
Locking up her office she found Anna's office empty and decided to just head home. Opening the card she found one word written, PLEASE. At the entrance she saw John their security man smiling broadly at her.
"Have a pleasant afternoon Mrs Stark," he said.
"You too John."
"Mrs Stark!" He called out to her. Turning she found him holding more flowers.

Accepting them she found another card. Opening it as she walked out of the building she read, FORGIVE ME. Looking up she found Aftonio standing in front of her, her heart sinking as she thought she would find Lex there. Entering into the car they quickly blended with the slow traffic. She placed the flowers aside tired of always having to have Alex beg for her forgiveness each time he messed up. It was time he learnt form his mistakes.

As she got home she found a dress on their bed with a small note written, WEAR ME. She left the dress were it was deciding to wear her riding attire and go for a horse ride.

She loved horses very much. The passion had been instilled by her father whenever they visited his sister in Spain. Greeting the stable hand she found her horse Sasha already prepared for her to ride. After an hour of riding she rubbed the horse down insisting on helping with the task as the stable hand wanted her to leave him to do his job.
"Where is my husband?" she asked Edward once she got back into the house.
"Sire is still waiting for you outside in the garden."
"What do you mean still?" She asked with a frown. "Never mind I will go see him now."

What is he doing outside this late? She wondered.
"Thank you," she said turning to head towards the garden.

She found him pacing beside a table set for two with worry written all over his features.
"Sweetheart, I was afraid you wouldn't come," he told her reaching out to take her hand.
She took a step away from him and turned, heading back into the house. He stood there watching his wife heading back into the house with a pained expression.

"Maria have the girls move a few clothes into the guest room. Edward I will have my dinner in my room tonight."
"Yes mam," they both said baffled by this but none the less obeying.
As Maria was instructing the maids to move certain items into the guest room Alex walked into the room asked in a dangerously low tone, "Where do you think you are going?"
"I am moving into the guest room as you can see," she said in a calm manner. "It seems you need space to get your priorities straight."

"Leave us," he growled.
Maria looked towards Gaby silently asking if she should leave.
"It's ok. You may go, I will call you when we are done."

"Gabriela, I will not allow you to sleep in the guest room, this is your bed, our bed. We will both sleep in it. How can you even think of sleeping somewhere else woman?" he told her as he slowly made his way closer to her.
"Don't you even dare touch me Alexandros," she told him taking a step away from him.
"And why can't I touch what is mine," he said in a husky voice.
"Yours? If I was yours you wouldn't shut me out and not share your problems with me. If I was yours you would remember that I hate it when you become intoxicated!" she told him with tears trickling down her face. "I am tired of you thinking you can fix everything with fancy dinners and flowers!"

"I will not allow you to leave my bed. Yes I shut you out, but I am protecting you."
"Protecting me! What do mean protecting me? When you could come to harm under the influence of that drink. What is so hard for you to tell me such that you had to drown your problems with alcohol? You know I lost my mother because of that drink. Why do you do this to me Alex!" She cried sinking to her knees.

"I, I don't know mi amor. The reason I shut you out is because of my father," he sighed as he ran his hands through his hair in frustration.
"What about him?"
"He wants to do business with me, but he doesn't know it's me. I haven't decided if I should accept his request yet."

She turned away from him and settled down on the edge of the bed. He sat down beside her and took her hand into his as he told her about the request.
"You should help him out. He is still your father," she told him gently.
"No, I cannot do that. He spoke ill of you and disowned me like it was nothing. I am forced to see my own mother and sister under pretense."
"But you have to forgive him baby. I don't want this child to come into this world when there is strife within the family," she said as she wrapped her arms around him. "Think of our family querido," she said as she placed his hand on her belly.
"Alright, I will do this only for you."

He turned to see a smile on her face.
"Good, now I need to sleep."
"You are sleeping here and no were else," he said in an authoritative voice.
"Of course mi amor. That drama was so that you could open up to me."
"What? Why Mrs Stark, you really are devious," he said as he kissed her.
"Well I did learn from the best in the game."
"Let me guess, Anna?"
"Of course, who else?" she chuckled as she got up to change.
