"Please don't make a mess," Chan mumbled, holding the burger he bought carefully, having stepped outside the care after he, himself managed to drop an open ketchup pack on the car's mat.
Jisung mumbled an okay, Changbin nodding with a thumbs up to show he heard. They had all been hungry so it was expected from them.
Jisung, once done, decided it was a good time to climb on the car roof again, but this time it was parked in a gas station parking lot. Not as glorious but alright. Chan joined him this time, wiping his hands on his pants and using the open driver's side door to hoist himself up.
Jisung smiled at him for a moment before looking back to the sky, "It's nice out here at night, even if we're at a gas station in the middle of nowhere... I mean I'm also saying that because my mom doesn't have access to my location."
Chan sighed wrapping an arm around Jisung's shoulders, rubbing his arm gently as Changbin climbed up through the open window, sitting up with them, letting it fall into a comforting silence.
"Jisung," Changbin spoke, "Say something completely random so we can talk about something."
"Huh— Oh okay uhm..... Advertising companies like... internet or phone companies is like companies trying to make the most profit while gaining a good reputation with low prices and appealing to the population so it's like a cycle of prices raising and falling until there's a perfect balance that appeals people and makes a profit."
"I'm sorry, what did you just say?"
"So like, a company offering free use of other apps that normally need to be paid. They try to.do this as a low price but the more appeal, the more people buy and then the less availability there is so the price goes up but then another company tries to do the same thing and they get customers for the lower price so the original company lowers their price again but demand will eventually bring it back up until theres that perfect price for demand..."
Jisung practically spoke with his hands, trying to make out what he was trying to say, Chan looking confused and Changbin a little amused.
"I'm sorry!" The youngest apologized, "This just— randomly came to me out of nowhere!"
"Say something else," Chan hummed, watching the youngest suck in a harsh breath as he thought.
"If snakes are danger noodles.... are lizards just.... hazardous lasagna....?"
"No, try again," Changbin sighed, not ammused by this one.
"Uhm...." Jisung hummed, clapping once, "The spelling of words is just keyboard slams people decided to give meaning to."
That one made both Changbin and Chan laugh.
"There that's a good one," Chan laughed, "I like that one."
In all honesty they didn't know why that was the one they liked the most considering the fact Jisung's advertising rant was pretty amusing and lizards being hazardous lasagna was really random.

"Chan."
"Changbin."
The two were a bit away from the car, Chan having parked in a rest stop parking lot so they could sleep for a bit. He couldn't sleep though, whether it was because of timezones or something else, it didn't matter. So he went outside, bought a cold water bottle, and sat on a bench, watching the stars Jisung had seemed so fascinated in.
It made sense.
Changbin hadn't been asleep either so he just happened to go out too once Chan didn't come back for a rew minutes.
"Homesick?"
"We all are, I think I know why Jisung keeps looking up. He's homesick too, but look," Chan pointed to the sky, Changbin's gaze following, "We're under the same sky just in different times. I'm also pretty sure he considers us his home," He mumbled, a little playfully, not expecting a response.
"What about home," Jisung mumbled, footsteps drawing closer until he sat on the bench next to Chan and Changbin, a blanket wrapped around his shoulders. He had been asleep in the back, so he had to have just woken up.
Chan shook his head, leaning against the youngest as he yawned.
"We're getting a hotel next time, it might help us sleep better," Chan mumbled.
"I think we'll just use it as an excuse to cuddle," Jisung replied quietly, Changbin shaking both of them to keep them awake so they could head back to the car.
"Whatever but we need to get back to the car so we can sleep and drive during the day."
"Yeah..." Chan sighed, pulling Jisung up with him so they could head back to the car, Chan quite literally clinging the youngest.
—
Chan still couldn't sleep and the car had gotten cold from the amount of heat slipping through the small space in the doors. He frowned, it wasn't like he could hug Changbin for warmth, and he wasn't going to turn the car back on.
Sighing, he carefully and slowly climbed over the center console and into the back, the half asleep Jisung knowing who it was and why, immediately tugging the oldest down on top of him.
"You're awake?" Chan mumbled, getting comfortable by instead squeezing himself between Jisung and the back of the seat, the youngest mumbling a tiny, "sorta" in return.
Chan gently played wirh Jisung's hair as the younger's arms wrapped around his torso to keep him warm.
"Hotel tomorrow," Jisung mumbled, "more room."
The words had been quiet but Chan nodded, arms wrapping around Jisung in return.
—
Changbin was first awake due to the car finally getting too cold as it slowly lost heat, reaching over, he twisted the key to start the car, allowing it to heat back up, hearing Chan mumble something about the car being loud.
The oldest had climbed into the back seat to sleep next to Jisung at some point, probably haven gotten cold too and couldn't hug Changbin with the center console between them so he opted for the 2nd best option.
Changbin watched them for a moment, smiling a bit as he grabbed his phone that had been charged overnight thanks to the portable charger that they plugged into the car's USB port while they drove so it could charge their phones at night.
After a while of staring at the screen, he was wide awake, occasionally glancing back at the two cuddling close in the back seat, he silently slipped out the car to the rest stop where he brushed his teeth and used the bathroom before heading back to the car.
He then stayed on his phone, not wanting to wake the two behind him. Only around 10 am did Jisung wake up, whining.
"What Sungie?" Changbin mumbled, not even a good morning, he was pretty used to Jisung whining right away.
"Cold."
"You're like a baby in the morning," Changbin complained, "You have Channie and the car's on."
"Well you're not back here."
"I don't fit, that's not meant for 3 people lying on it."
Jisung huffed quietly so Changbin assumed he gave up.
"You're going to have to get up at some point," Changbin hummed, turning to see Jisung lightly poking Chan's cheeks.
"But Channie's still asleep, I don't want to wake him up," Jisung mumbled in return.
"What about when you have to use the bathroom? Hm?"
"Stop being the mature one."
"I'm just the wide awake one."
"Fair."
Changbin laughed at Jisung's defeat, the youngest getting quiet and simply accepting it.
