its been a while [read: 2 years] since ive made these characters, so i think it's time i introduce these guys to ppl who dont really know who there are

victor nathaniel mortis is the main character of necromancer for hire. hes a sickly, nervous kid, but he has a good heart.

hes a human and uses death magic. he lives with umbra, aunora, esper, and seraph in a house in a suburb in alcorith, michigan.

victor has recently met pilate (and kinda befriended him), which starts his involvement in the circle of life.

umbra astral mortis is victor, seraph, and espers father. hes the other main character of necromancer for hire (the arcs switch up between victors and umbras pov). umbra is stuck up and kinda rude, but he has a sweet side underneath forty layers of daddy issues and emotional baggage.

in arc 7 we learn umbra was heavily abused by his father, which accounts for most of his insecurities.

umbra is domestic and is trained as both an emotional support companion and bodyguard for victor. he is very close with matthew, but the details of how they met is unknown. he can summon a sword and war scythe.

matthew jürgen mortis is also a father and owns a restaurant in the city of alcorith. hes german and is silly and cheerful. he is a secondary main character.

matthew is introduced in arc two, and continues to be a major character after that. his backstory is very vague, mostly how he acquired all his...interesting... skills.

he uses wind magic and is good at both hand to hand combat and guns.

aunora is another part of the main cast. she takes on the role (even through shes insecure about it) as the mom of the family.

she is a demon horse that was cast out from her clan as a baby, and lived most of her life alone with only esper as a companion.

aunora is the physically strongest member of the team and can summon armor with studded gauntlets. she can also shift into her demon horse form.

esper is mortis is a nature spirit and secondary main character. he is introduced as the 'damsel in distress' in arc 1.

as a child, he was known as acidia, but changed his name when he decided to become a better person. he found aunora as a child and they grew up together.

he is the main medic of the group and can sense both body heat and 'magic signatures.' he can detect how powerful a mage is. he also uses nature magic in the form of plants. he isnt much of a fighter, though.

seraph mortis (formally harmony) is the newest addition to the main cast. he was introduced in arc 2 and returns in arc 5 to be in the main roster.

he is victors best (and pretty much only) friend and is fiercely protective of him.

in arc 5, we learn seraph is struggling with an identity crisis caused by the overwhelming expectations of his mother, celeste. victor persuades him to become his own person and he joins silver moon and the mortis family.

though a healer as well, seraph enjoys fighting and is more of a combatant. he uses light magic in the form of laser beams and can shapeshift. so far, he is able to shift into a cat, a wolf (though it's a work in progress), and a dragon, which is his favorite form.
