To the man I crushed on,

I saw your smile and fell for you.
Your eyes pierced my soul.
Your picture showed me the cover of a beautiful story untold.

Even though you shed no tears
I know you hurt deep inside with fear.

I just wish it were different for you and me
But life said it can't be.

So I'll settle for your friendship, whatever that means.

Even if it drives me Insane,
And brings my soul pain,

I value your heart and wish you the best.
You deserve everything and shouldn't settle for less.

Life is too short, my friend, so go for everything you want,
trust me it's alright.
And maybe one day you'll see me
in a different light.
