It was dark and gloomy outside, the rain showered down on us like crashing waves on a seabed 

I and Eleven walk back home from school the place I found her

It was a silent walk, I wasn't taking my bike mainly because it was way to dark and dangerous to ride 

"Mike" she tapped me ever so softly on my shoulder I could see she was scared looking up at the sky and seeing lightning from a distance 

"Don't worry El, it's called lightning it won't hurt you."

"Dad said that if you stand under lightning you get e-l-e-t-r-e-c-u-t-e-d ?"

Dad, I was really confused. I remember quickly though that she was talking about Hopper. 

"Yeah, but your safe with me....and you won't get hurt"

She smiled at me wrapping her cold arm around mine, we continue to walk for a long time just talking and walking.

"Mike?"

"Yes"

"Do you think I'm weird?"

I stop her in her tracks looking and making deep eye contact with her

"You Eleven are one of the the most  weirdest girls i've ever met"

"really?"

she looked sad now, I forgot that she didn't know how this whole flirting thing works

"No!, good weird. Your not like most shitty girls in my class or anywhere. Your special"

"special?"

"it means your better, better and prettier"

Her eyes start to glow

"But when you first found me, you thought I was ugly"

I play with her hair, right now were outside my house just standing there with each other

"I was retarded back then, I didn't know what words came out my mouth El"

I lean into her at that moment, pulling her closer and almost kissing again 

Nancy had ran in with an umbrella and a big jacket

"Mike why the hell are you standing outside, you do know your not homeless."

she hadn't recognised El yet, maybe because of her hair.

As she dragged me inside she turned around slowly, the sudden shock of realisation  finally hitting her

"that girl with the long hair...that's"

"Eleven..."

she stops halfway and leaves me while she ran to her

"Eleven!"

she quickly turned around 

"Mike's sister?"

"Yes it's me, but you can call me Nancy"

"Nancy...Nancy Wheeler"

They both smile at each other running inside without me

Nancy takes El to her room locking me out soon after

I hate my sister.....like a lot

I slowly stumble to my room,  diving head first into my bed 

"Walkie Talkie"

I pick it up trying to reach Dustin

"Dustin?, Dustin? hello do you copy It's me Mike"

"I copy Mike"

I take a deep breath, should I tell him?

"You know Eleven right?"

"Yeah of course I do"

"I have a problem with her"

"What?, do you want to get rid of her Mike."

"No, It's just that I like her....no I fucking love her"

"she's my everything my all, at first I had a crush on her but now after the snowball this thing is more than just a silly old crush"

Dustin's channel was silent for a while, all I could here were little screeching noises in the background 

"Dustin?, Dustin"

while trying to get Dustin back I didn't notice that my sister had walked in she had a big hairbrush and a lip stick set in her hands 

"What?" she looked at my creepily like a very hungry dog 

"So uh......Eleven's been telling me stuff"

"stuff like what?"

she bite's her lip rushing over to me and throwing my walkie talkie 

"oh I don't know how you said that you loved her and how you wanted her to be your girlfriend"

she seemed like a proud mom

"So?, I love her is it wrong or something"

"No it's not little bro but I gave Eleven a makeover"

I felt really betrayed at that moment, Eleven didn't need a makeover she already looked pretty.....no not pretty she looked like an angel. 

"Why the fuck would you do that Nancy?"

She rolled her eyes

"Eleven get in here!"

I slowly see the door open, what I saw wasn't the El I met a year ago it was the most prettiest girl on planet earth

Her hair was straight but it had a tiny braid in it. You could see more clearly how long it had grown. 

She had eyeliner on, it made her eyes stand out so more. 

And instead of those trashy clothes she was wearing a short top which said the words 'ride or die' on it. On the bottom she had on my sister's annoying jeans and some new converse. She also had a ripped jacket on, which also looked new. 

I couldn't stop looking....my eyes they were amazed at what I saw.

"So do you like it?"

I began to go extremely red, I was so red that I looked like I was dying 

"Mike do you think it's ugly??" I could see her lips started to quiver, but I didn't know what to do 

"Mike say something you dipshit!" I stuck my middle finger at my sister, but when I looked back at Eleven she was crying 

"Nancy, he thinks I'm ugly. You said when a boy says nothing, he hates it" now Nancy looked confused we both watched as El cried there

"It's fine....i'll go. I know you want to get rid of me to right?"

"get rid of you!, who told you that??" 

She pointed at the walkie talkie

"You told Dustin, I heard everything" 

she ran downstairs bursting with tears...my sister looked at me angrily even though it was her fault to 

"Why are you so stupid Mike?" I threw the pillow at her face, mimicking her soon after

I ran down the stairs following the ruckus 

My mom had just come in from shopping covering both her and Baby Holly's ears

"What happened to Eleven?"

"It's me it's my fault I hurt her"

"hurt her how Michael"

"I just did Mom okay"

I slowly go down the stairs to the basement seeing that Eleven was on the floor crying

I quickly rushed over to her pulling her to my chest

"Eleven..Eleven" I just repeat her name over and over until she'd finally calmed down 

"I sorry, for coming. for messing up everything for you. I'm sorry that you have to be stuck with me" she wipes her eyes all her mascara starts to fall down

She looks into the mirror 

"Monster, I'm a monster"

I hold her some more, oh what have I done

"Your not a monster El, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being so mean to you, you don't deserve this Eleven"

"Mike do you want to be my b-o-y-f-r-i-e-n-d"

"Yes!, I do I really do"

I kiss her on the cheek but she takes my hand

"Mike, friends don't lie"

I hold her tighter she looks at me and starts to shake

"I love you Eleven, Jane. You were and always will be the light in my darkness."

"how sure are you?"

I look her in the eyes kissing her softly on the lips for 10 whole minutes

"that sure"

she was the red one now she began to touch  her cheeks and look at me in the mirror 

"what does this mean Mike?"

I laugh a bit 

"It means your in love El"

"I am in love"

"with you Mike....."

she wraps her hand around my shoulder again smiling even more than the other times

My mom had walked downstairs holding a big pan and spatula

"C'mon Mr and Mrs Wheeler it's time for your dinner" 

my mom was such a kidder sometimes

I look at El and she quickly looks at me

"Boyfriend?"

I kiss her on the head

"Boyfriend"
