She was gone

and she didn't even say goodbye

Eleven had gone to close the gate 

I had forgotten to ask her about The Snowball

stupid me

I was sitting at the dining room table with Dustin, Max, Lucas and weirdly enough Steve Harrington 

I looked at the box of Eggos, they reminded me of El

"Mike?,Mike!" Lucas took the box of Eggos and he threw them in the bin

"You son of a bitch" I threw my head on the table, Lucas just casually rolled his eyes

"Why are you acting so bitchy Mike, is it because of El?" Dustin and Max started laughing Lucas joining in on the chorus soon after

"Michael Wheeler have you gone out of your mind, like I like El as friend and all. but I don't love her. she's not even that pretty"

I began to bang both of my fists on the  table 

"El is the most damn angel i've ever seen" after my bitch-fest I calmly put my head back on the table soon after

"Jesus Christ, you kids have no idea what love is,  daddy Steve will tell u guys how it really works" for the love of god, how much of a brainless idiot could he be

And to think he was in charge of us...yeah right

"oh yeah sure...If daddy Steve knows so much about the law of attraction then how come you weren't able to keep Nancy for falling in love with Jonathan." 

just as Dustin was screaming that both Nancy and Jonathan walked in on our table discussion

"why are you guys still here you supposed to be finding ways to help Will....remember the deal"

Steve picked up the bat and stumbled out the door

stopping halfway while looking at Nancy

"I'll take them to my house, i'll keep out your way" I could see from the corner of my eye how uncomfortable Jonathan was. his hands were deep in his pockets. 

"Mike let's bounce"  Lucas shook my jacket but I was paralysed with sadness

"I'll get up when I know Eleven is okay" they had given up on me, so they just left me to stay there

"Mike, it's okay Eleven she'll be alright",

"How do you know that Nancy huh?, you're not a mind reader"

"Well, El is strong and both I and Jonathan here agree she'd love it if you left"

I agreed to leave, but I couldn't leave without seeing Will

I forgot Mrs.Byers was there she was stroking Will's hair singing sweet nothing's in his pale ear

"They'll fix him won't they, it'll all be better right?"

Mrs.Byers looked up from what she was doing and she tried to smile but it faded quickly 

"I don't know Mike, we don't know. But I know that Will's coming back very soon. and when he does you, him, Lucas and Dustin can have a big sleepover together" that made me warm inside it brought me back to all those times Will would come over to my house. We'd play Dungeons and Dragons and I'd always get fed up with myself for losing. Will would just laugh and say, "maybe the next time we'll play it'll be less of Dustin screaming profanities in our ears and more of us actually playing the real game" 

When I finally get in the car, the gang is mad at me

"Why do you take so long to walk from the kitchen to the door Mike like it's not that difficult" I couldn't recognize that was Dustin cause half his face was covered in his jacket

"I was talking to Mrs.Byers"

"What the hell are you talking about Mike, Mrs.Byers left with Nancy and Jonathan to burn the demogorgan out of Will. They came back to the house for extra heaters" Steve reared the engine and began speeding down the road

"So who was I talking to?"

"YOU'RE JUST CRAZY!" Lucas had it up to there with me, he started ranting about how I was such a delusional person sometimes. 

"Eleven, she's hurt" I began to hold my heart it's like I felt her pain 

"Oh my god Michael" Max gave me a sandwich from Steve's food box and we began to eat

Dustin was spilling crumbs all over me

while Lucas had his napkin on his lap

but I couldn't eat anything

knowing the girl of my dreams was in pain
